Cafe Crossplay : Julian and Tempo High Heels Frillies, and Sugar Cubes
: Julian: Shutting the door behind himself, Julian stepped into his office, sinking down into his chair at the tail end of a very long day. It was Tempo's first day working after his training, (Really only a half-day) and it had had him on edge the entire time. He'd hovered over the boy carefully, double-checked his orders when they came in, and went out, and generally made sure he'd had mostly : Julian: likable customers. All of this behind the scenes, of course. For some reason, he didn't want the lavender haired bratling to know he'd made things easy for him. It made the tall redhead feel like a fairy god father of sorts, and it was a refreshing new feeling. There was exactly fifteen minutes left on the clock, and with the number of customers dwindling, he thought it safe to take a
: Julian: little break. Running a lightly calloused hand throgh his hair, he shut his eyes, sighing and leaning back.
: Tempo: Tempo seemed to be having an overall good day. He was polite to the customers and played his part relatively well. With a smile he bid his last customer for the morning goodbye. Once the bell of the door rang Tempo knew he was in the clear. He gave a nervous glance up towards the decorative clock on the wall and sighed heavily. He headed back towards the dressing room setting his hands on the back of his skirt. His face still heated from all the blushing he'd been doing that morning. Tempo wasn't his usual talkative self. In fact he'd become very reclusive. he didn't talk to any of his fellow waitresses and seemed to avoid making eye contact with anyone else who was working. He tugged the skirt down out of nervousness and kept stroking the back as if to make sure it had stayed where it was supposed to and didn't snag on anything. He was being a bit obsessive with making sure that skirt on his dress didn't go anywhere without his knowledge. He was very focused on his job and making sure he got everything right and smiled just perfect when it was appropriate and kept polite conversation. He couldn't help but feel and overwhelming amount of uneasiness on the inside however. He was afraid he'd make a fool out himself and was playing it slow and easy. Tempo looked up as he started to pull his hair forward toying with the long locks of purple and hiding behind them. He peeped around looking to see if Oliver was busy. He wondered if he could get to talk to the boy before seeing Julian. He wouldn't bother him if he was working however. : Julian: Oliver was inside their dressing room, peeling a pair of pure white stockings down his legs and rubbing the sensitive skin of his hairless calves a bit. "Nh... Should've bought the silk ones." He gently complained to himself. The cheap fabric had itched him all morning. He still wore the powder blue frock he'd worked in, but the apron accompanying it hung inside his locker. Raising his
: Julian: head when he heard the approaching footsteps, he couldn't help but cast the newbie a soft smile. "... How ya feelin'?" He asked as gently as he could. Ollie remembered his own first day. 'Nervewracking' was putting it lightly.
: Tempo: "I feel like I'm going to trip and fall on my face and everyone in the whole world is going to point and laugh. . ." The lavender lad trailed as he tugged the edges of the skirt down for emphasis. "I don't see the point of these breezy things... they just make it way easer to accidentally show off your clothing that's not meant to be seen by others. " Tempo said gently. "And I have this strange belief that my work is terribly important. " He added. "Do you ever feel like that?" Tempo asked looking to Oliver. : Julian: "Well it's better than believing your work is useless." Ollie smiled, taking a seat, and patting the place beside him on the long bench. "Sometimes I feel like that, yeah... That everybody's just waiting for me to fail. It's not really a nice feeling, though. I try to put it out of my head, but it's hard. I'm sure you've seen how catty some of the servers are." Rolling his eyes, he
: Julian: reached for his jeans and pulled them up over his legs, and under the skirt of his dress, fastening them before he moved on. Like Tempo, he still had some modesty issues even after working here for some time... but one finds ways to get around showing off too much skin. "The best advice I can give you is to try and relax, and find the fun in it, even if you have to make up games for : Julian: yourself... I like to count how many people order a certain dish... or I try to find the worst dressed customer. ^^: heh. That one's not as nice..."
: Tempo: Tempo nodded staying quiet as he moved to take a seat. "I suppose you're right. . . I guess once I get over the feeling of a million eyes staring at me I might just be able to have a little more fun. " Tempo offered. "Julian wants me to go see him... should I change?" Tempo asked softly. He shifted and looked down to his pigeon toes feet and his ears sank. Tempo stretched out and wriggled a bit in place trying to ease his tense muscles. "I swear if I should write a letter; 'Dear stress; Let's break up. " == : Julian: "Oh if only it were that easy.... Stress is like that ex who calls you up every time they get drunk, and ruins your day..." Ollie giggled at that, shaking his head. "You should go before you change though. He tends to be nicer when you look cuter. ^^; At least that's my experience." Standing up and pulling the dress up over his head, shaking out his hair, Ollie continued. "Not that I
: Julian: think he has anything to complain about. You really did do a good job today." He said, entirely genuinely.
: Tempo: Like a generous gift Oliver's words rang clearly through Tempo's mind. Long ears flicked up as he felt a small charge becoming ecstatic over such simple words. "Do you really think so?" He asked just about catching his own breath. Tempo hopped to his feet and his defeated look vanished from sight as a bright smile spread its self on that pale visage. "Yey~ X" He cheered in a very small whisper of a voice bringing up to hands and clutching them shut as he attempted to contain himself. : Julian: "Really!" He insisted, pulling his teeshirt over his head, and down over his tummy. "My first day went terribly by compare... Spilt things, and tripped, and forgot orders... You're kind of a natural already." Ollie combed his fingers through his hair, looking in the little mirror in his locker. "Or maybe you're just not an epic ditz." Shutting the locker, he picked up his messenger bag
: Julian: and slung it over one shoulder. Walking past Tempo, he reached up and ruffled some of his hair, careful not to do any irreparable damage to it's style. "Is it too sappy if I tell you that you already make working here more bearable?" ^^;
: Tempo: Tempo stepped forward wrapping his arms tightly around Oliver. "No~! It's not." He snuggled right in to teh crook of Oliver's neck. Tempo set two hands on either side of Oliver's face and smooched him on the cheek before pinching them gently-almost teasingly so. "I'm glad I make your life a tinsy tiny bit better. And I'm also glad I have a friend like you around to talk to. " Tempo said as he stppe dback setting his hands on Oliver's shoudler whilst he spoke before removing them. "Thank you Oliver-You're so kind and sweet to me. "
: Julian: Ollie squeaked a little at the sudden show of affection, wrapping his arms around Tempo in return, and patting his back a bit. He blushed at the little kiss and giggled awkwardly. He didn't seem uncomfortable in the slightest though. "Oh it's no problem at all. it's really... really nice to see somebody normal around here. And I don't mean looking normal, or not liking strange things... : Julian: I mean nice. And genuine, and with good intentions. So it's kinda it's own reward, because I get a great friend out of it."
: Tempo: "Aweeeee. . . It's no wonder James can't stay mad at you... you're just so sugary." Tempo said feeling a bit touched that Oliver considered him a friend on that level. He smiled and just stepped back taking a deep breath. It was rare Tempo had any one like Oliver to simply have as a good friend. One you could talk to and just be honest with and not worry they'd be mean or hurtful in any way. "Well I suppose I shouldn't keep Julian waiting and I don't want you to get side tracked from your day. I'll see you later Oliver." : Julian: "Hey, a little sugar never hurt anybody." He smiled and shrugged. "And yeah... Keeping Julian waiting is never really a good idea... Good luck! You can come over later if you want, or call me! I'll be at home." With that, he pulled on his shoes and headed out the door, forgetfully leaving a little heart-shaped clip in his hair. Julian, in the meantime, got himself settled with a cup of
: Julian: hot coffee, two sugars and a splash of cream, just the way he liked it. He'd taken his shoes off under his desk, and cracked his toes, as he wrote notes on his paperwork, waiting for the boy to knock on his door.
: Tempo: Tempo giggled ever so lightly watching Oliver go. He then headed towards Julian's office ina much lighter mood than he was previously. He knocked on the door listening to the hallow sound. He didn't attempt to enter unless he was told.
: Julian: "Come in." A rich voice called, with just a hint of sweetness in it's tone. Julian slipped his shoes back on, and pushed his paperwork aside, setting his pen on top, and giving Tempo his full attention.
: Tempo: Tempo walked in and shut the door be hind him. He walke dove rto the desk and stood beforeit offering Julian a small smile. "You want me to see me? Sir?" He asked adding that last bit getting that over whelming sence of need to add that last bitof respect thanks to manny time being in Rex's own office. Being in an office sort of had that affect. He stood clasping his hands before him as to not fidget with the dress.
: Julian: Julian's smile widened just a bit at the little addition. 'sir'. How very sweet when one didn't directly ask for it. "Come around here, Tempo." He motioned to the other side of his desk, scooting his chair back. "I just want to have a talk with you about how you felt today, and if you had any thoughts or concerns..." His nature seemed much more relaxed than it had in all those days of
: Julian: training. It was much like he had been in Tempo's interview.
: Tempo: Tempo's ears flicked curiously at those words as he started over. He paused but a step or two away from Julian. "Just a talk...right?" he half asked eying him over warily. He tried to think of how to speak to Julian with what he could speak with Oliver with so easily. he came up rather short to say the least. "I think. . . I think a dress is highly impractical." he said trying to convey his feelings but having trouble getting the right ones out. : Julian: "Simply a talk. Nothing more, nothing less." Julian shrugged, putting his hands up in a placating manner for a moment. At that little complaint, he quirked up a half-grin, and leaned back in his chair. "I see... Well while I appreciate your opinion, I regret to inform you that dresses are what most of the staff wears, my cute little biscuit. What about them makes them so very impractical?
: Julian: Perhaps some adjustments can be made?"
: Tempo: "I feel like they get caught on things, and that you always have to worry about whether or not they're in place or not and... and..." he trailed sort of hesitating to continue with his thoughts. The little gestured Julian had done well enough to make Tempo feel more at eased. "And I feel vulnerable in them... I feel as if every one's just watching me and waiting for me to mess up or fall over and show off what's under this skirt. " he explained his ears slipping down a few degrees with every passing moment. : Julian: An amused, but soft smile seemed to gradually etch its way onto Julian's features as he listened patiently. "I see, well, those are legitimate fears, I admit... I'll me tell you what. How about from now on, I make sure a nice pair of bloomers show up with each of your outfits from now on, eh? They cover a bit more skin, and you won't have to worry your pretty head over anyone seeing your
: Julian: frillies." Reaching out slowly and gently, he picked up Tempo by his trim waist and set the boy atop his desk, making them the same height sitting down. "But truly, I just can't give you something besides a dress or skirt to wear, sweetling... The truth is, they look very good on you, particularly the breezy, fluttery sort." Gently tickling his fingers over one of Tempo's kneecaps, he : Julian: continued. "Your legs one of your very best assets. It would be a shame to cover them up."
: Tempo: Tempo's ears perked up as he was picked up and seated right in front of Julian. He almost immediately placed his hands on his lap keeping his legs together. "Bloomers would certainly be nicer." he said gently as he shivered flinching only a tad at Julian's hand. Tempo wasn't quite sure how he felt about the customers. the ones he had seemed pretty amiable and agreeable to be around. It was kind alike making friends who were being too nice in a weird sort of way. "I don't... like the idea of many people watching me all at once." Tempo offered quietly as he started to toy with the skirt and flatten it out on his lap chancing a few glances up to steal himself small views of Julian's pretty blue eyes.
: Julian: With his hands gently ghosting over the pleating of Tempo's skirt, straightening out the rows of ruffles, and admiring the embroidery at the edges, he idly found one of Tempo's signifigantly smaller hands, and wrapped his own around it. It felt so delicate and dainty in his grasp that he simply stroked the pad of his thumb over the top of it. "I see..." He began, considering his options
: Julian: carefully. "You know, Tempo..." He reached out with his other hand, and lightly took hold of the boy's chin, directing his rosette gaze upward, to meat Julian's own. "If you ever feel overwhelmed, and you need a short break, my door is open. It's always open if you have a problem you can't handle. It's my job to watch out for you, and if you can tell me when a problem is beginning, it's : Julian: all the easier for me to deal with... So don't you think it's an inconvenience, alright?"
