Cardinal and Magical Girl

The young superhero known as Cardinal, who had recently started his solo career after reaching age 16, was patroling a bad neighborhood. His suit allowed him to glide over the streets, while special lenses in his mask, showed him all the data he needed to know. "Okay, one more sweep and then were done for the night...", he reminded himself. It had been peaceful, but just when he thought things were looking good...
"Oh no, some gang is robbing the gas station...not again...", he lamented. The teenage hooligans were good. They had almost dissapeared in their car before he or the cops could reach the scene, but alas he was faster! "Okay, you troublemakers! Lets wait here for the cops and be nice!", he announced. Cardinal was easy, because the gang was mostly just kids, hardly older than himself. But his speech was interrupted by a gun shot. One of the gangers was packing a big revolver. It was hitting his shoulder and breached his armored costume. "AAghhh!", he gronaed and almost dropped to his knees. "Okay....you´ve decided to handle this the hard way!", he said, preparing to take them down with his metal staff.

Walking down the street wound a young girl, it was hard to tell from the clock of darkness of the night, but she look like her early teens. It was harder to tell what her face looked like because she was wearing a Purple plaid hoodie with what looked like rabbit ears drooping from the hood. Straps in a diamond pattern on the long sleeves. which were a solid green color. She also wore a black mini skirt with chains dangling from the sides with little keychains attached of various things. From a coin of some faraway land, what appears to be a rabbit's foot, A symbol of some short and a blue glowing vile closed with a quark. Under the skirt she had some ripped bell bottom jeans and black boots.


As she walks she comes across as some short of fight. A look like some goons and some short of armored hero. She believed she has seen him on TV before, but can't quite remember. As she noticed them, it appeared that they noticed her. Another thug grabs her and held a blade to her knife. "Not so fast Cardinal." the thug shouts. "One more step and this brat is gonna get it." he warns him. "Are you talking about me?" the girl asked. Which confused the thug. "Who else am I talking about?" he asked.


"Oh someone who was actually in trouble. Your toy blade is rather cute." she said in a rather cocky way. "Bitch do you think I am playing?!" he shouts. "Ah you are so loud." she whines and makes a strange gesture with her finger. Just then his mouth completely disappeared, as if he never had one to begin with. This causes the thug to freak out and drops his blade and lets go of her. She steps away and gives off a vibe that she wasn't even bother with any of this.


A cackle escape the girl. "See, no threat at all. If you say you sorry I might forgive you. Oh wait, you can't." she said and lets out a small laugh. "You think that is funny?!" another punk shouts. She turned to face him. "Mm, a little, but you know what's funnier?" she said in a playful manner. She mumbles something under her breath as she made more hand gestures. A dark clouds forms over them and soon a swarm of locust falls upon them.

Before Cardinal even noticed the new arrival he had taken down two of the gangers with his staff. For all their talk, they weren´t that though. Just guns were still a big problem for a hero with no powers and after being hit he was getting slower. Then he saw the girl, only in her early teens. His first reflex was to get her out of danger. "Hey! No civilians here, move your ass or...", he said. Typical superhero tough talk. Then he saw her magic. "What the...", he said, still somewhat paralyzed. He managed to dodge the next thug striking at him with a baseball bat, though. Cardinal had heard of heroes or villains with magical powers, but never seen one in action. It was amazing, making him feel like a rookie. Did she just seriously shut him up by making his mout dissapear? What would happen to this poor fool now? "Hey, who are you?", he said to the girl.
"Come on, open up! Or let´s clean up with this trash now first!", he declared, getting into a fighting stance. Cardinal could still worry about their opponents health later. Surely that girl had her heart in the right place and wouldn´t disfigure these kids forever?

She looks at the hero as she was asked who she was. "Oh I'm just an all powerful witch." she tells him in a cocky manner. When told they could clean up, she chuckled. "But this looks like your mess. I was just on my way to a rave. When that dweeb just randomly grabbed me." she said, pointing to the guy who was saying by a dumpster freaking out as he tried for feel for the mouth that was no lounger there.


"You think you can just walk away? now?" one of the thugs asked. Pointing the gun at her now. She lowers her head and groans loudly. "What does a girl have to do to get a little fun here? Fine you want to play? Fine...they lets play." she said in a more sinister sounding tone. Like she was done with this. She mumbles some words and a magical circle formed under the thug with the gun. He tries to move but he couldn't. A purple glows from the circle and soon a light covers him. Letting out a loud painful scream.


When the light vanishes. What stood there was no longer a man, no instead is was teddy bear in the clothes the man was wearing. Holding a bright blue gun. It moves on it's own looking down at itself before looking back at her, who not looked like a giant compared to earlier. "I had enough! He said and shoots. Only instead of a bullet coming out, it was a stream of harmless soap bubbles.


She walks up to him slowly and kneels down to his level, but was still towering over him. Before he could run. She uses her magic to pick him up from the ground without using her hands. "Now then. Lets play a game of airplanes." she said in a playful manner and with her magic she starts to fling him around in the air. Making him crash into the building walls. It did not damage to the walls and each time the body made contact the thug's body squeaks. The buildings were safe, but the thug was feeling every impact.



"Now this is way more fun then a rave."

"All powerful, huh?", he said, smiling underneath his suit while he took care of the last members of the gang. Her powers were impressive, but he still had a hard time taking her seriously because she was still a kid to him.
Cardinal looked up at the thug who had been turned into a stuffed animal of some sort, his mouth wide open in amazment. "Shit, you will turn him back, right?", he asked,"So whats your name? They call me Cardinal. I clean up the hoods from trash like them."

As she turns to face him, she stopped using her magic and the teddy bear thug fell into a dumpster. With the lid shutting down on itself. "Yeah I know how to cast...but redoing is not really my thing." she tells him acting like it wasn't that big of a deal. The thug with no longing having a mouth lets out a muffled screamed.


"Cardinal right. I think I've seen you on the news one or twice." she said. "Well it looks like you got things under control here. Speaking of I am ready to loose control. I should still be able to make it to the rave." she said, mostly speaking to herself. "Later, birdie." said said just as she starts to walk away.

"Um, we need to give these thugs over to the police, so it would be really nice when you could turn them back!", Cardinal stated, a bit suprised at her coldheartedness. Was she hero or villain? Maybe a third option, and just a kid who didn´t know better. She was awfully young! Younger than him, while he was usually the youngest when other heroes were with him.
"Hey!", he shouted when she was just going to walk away. He held her by one of her bunny ears, feeling the pain in his shoulder. Damn, I really need this to get looked at..., he thought.

"I mean it, turn them back to normal, I´ll call the police!", the young hero said firmly. Could she even go to a rave young as she was? She probably should be in bed.

She was humming a tune to herself as she was stopped in her tracked. She yelps and looks to see that the hero was grabbing onto the ear of her hoodie. "Hey watch it!" she whines. Telling her that she needed to turn the thugs back to normal. "Like I said, undoing is not my thing." she said sounding annoyed.



"Besides they broke the law. Don't you think they deserve this? You think being locked up will do anything for them?" she asked in a curious manner. She moves her index finger around and turned into a smoke cloud. Moving out of range of the hero. "I'm sure they can call someone to fix them. For now let then soak it in." she said then cackle. Then she starts to run off.

"Well, its certainly more just then leaving them with a curse like that.", he said with conviction. Like most superheroes he believed in the system. "Well, then, go to your rave or whatever.", he growled as she teleported away,"Just next time to mess up me busting some guys, there will be some consequences, you brat.", he promised, not sure yet how he would make her regret it, but she´d definately get an earful from him and whatever magical hero he would call to fix her mess.

When Cardinal filed the report to the police. They mention that they had been getting strange reports of a young magical user causing a bit of trouble. Nothing serious like robbing banks or destroying the city. Just pranks that changed people looks or changing signs like changing a pull door sign to push. No one knows who she was since she seemed to vanish. Luckily for the thugs there was another magic user in the city that cast the spell off and were back to normal.



A week passes by and there was no sign of the magical girl. Until one day it was late after noon. School would of been let out for the day and there was a bunch of kids walking home from their school if living nearby or have otherways of getting home without the school bus system. There was the girl from before, wearing the same hoodie. Only this time you can see her face since the sun was still out.


She had two different color eyes. The left eye was purple and the right was bright green. Wearing eye shadow of the opposite color of eye (green eye shadow around the purple eye and purple around the green eye). She was also wearing black lipstick but only the top lip. She makes her way into an alleyway and pulls out a little what looked like a wood carved rabbit and drew symbols onto it's back, it glowed and soon it transformed into staff. She sits on it and soon she was flying through the air. Who needs buses when you can fly?
