While Mary didn't like the fact that Sherlock used sleeping pills, she knew it was unfortunately necessary for him, so she looked at John before nodding and stroking Sherlock's hair a little. "Yes, you may," she said, giving him a small squeeze.

John nodded his head, going downstairs to prepare the sleeping pills and a warm drink for when Sherlock was ready for bed.

Sherlock smiled and nodded his head, hugging Mary a little tighter before then pulling out of the hug. "Thank you Mary, I really appreciate it."

Mary grinned at the sound of his voice. "You're very welcome... Now, let's go downstairs and get you something to eat before bed." She probably sounded very much like a mother to a small child, but she didn't care, and she knew Sherlock didn't care either.

Sherlock nodded his head, that sort of mother-son bond was something the man needed to function properly. "Yes, lets." he answered, opening the door and holding it for Mary before following John downstairs and into the kitchen.

Mary thanked him before she went down the stairs as well and into the kitchen. She had Sherlock sit at the small table in the sitting room, before she quickly fixed up a plate of small sandwiches. She knew he could probably eat more, but she didn't want him to fall asleep feeling uncomfortable from a full stomach.

Sherlock sat down carefully, looking very much like a young chastised boy. "Thank you Mary." he said softly, taking out a sandwich and eating hungrily, besides he knew better than to eat a big meal before he went to sleep.

Mary gave his head a few soft, motherly strokes, before going back into the little kitchen where John was. She took the warm glass and pills from his hands.

"Let's wait a while before we have one of our own," she said to him with a small teasing look.

Sherlock smiled, happily eating away at the food, he was hungry and was feeling humble now that he was squirming on a sore bottom.

John chuckled. "I think Sherlock would become too jealous anyway, and we would have even more of a naughty boy on our hands." he answered, walking over and ruffling Sherlock's hair.

Mary exited with her husband, smiling indulgently at Sherlock (much like a mother hen might), before she handed him the glass and the pills. "Now, I want you to finish eating before you drink this, alright? I don't want you falling asleep on your plate."

Not to mention, the last time that had happened, poor John had been forced to carry him bridal-style up to his room.

Sherlock rose a brow and smiled happily, "Okay." he answered, taking the pills and the drink, setting them down while he continued to eat. Once he was done, he stood and downed the pills and the warm milk, instantly becoming drowsy.
