To Catch a Thief {for Angel}

Valen didn't seem all that concerned and just moved to make himself a bed, grateful that he liked creature comforts so there was enough bedding to go around.

The little fox cocoon wriggled a little as the boy got comfortable... Which was far easier than most nights. Blankets and pillows... this was heaven.

For his part Valen ended up laying on his back and staring up into the darkness, thinking about this rather interesting turn of events. It was definitely not something that he had been expecting but he wasn't overly upset about it. After some time he did end up going to sleep himself, curling up in the blanket.

Tyler's sleep was not... Perfect, by any means, but he didn't thrash about. A small blessing, because he'd probably anger the knight sharing a tent with him...

Early the next morning Valen woke, the knight getting up and leaving the sleeping fox be as he quietly exited the tent. He went about packing up the majority of his things, tucking them into a magical bag of holding, which explained how he was able to carry so much stuff. Having done that he set about making breakfast, the scent of cooking food soon filling the small camp.

Before too long, the smell of food roused the slumbering boy.

The blanket bundled fox shuffled out of the tent, still wrapped in the warm covers, his belly demanding he find what smelled tasty.

Valen was focused on what he was doing and so at first didn't notice that Tyler had crawled out of the tent. He sort of smirked when he caught sight of the bundle of fox that was practically waddling toward him. One dark eyebrow arched as he watched the sniffing foxling's approach. "Looking for something?" he questioned in his customary calm tone of voice.

"Food... smell food." Tyler mumbled drowsily. The blanket bundle waddled over, plopping down near the man, watching him cook.

"I am cooking food, yes," Valen said when the fox pointed out that the scent was what had roused him from sleep and brought him creeping out. On some level Valen thought this was cute but he kept that thought to himself and simply continued to cook. He was focused on what he was doing because it didn't come naturally to him, he had to work on his chef skills, and he wasn't a fan of eating burnt food so therefor he had to pay attention.

At least to a degree.

"Feeling better than you did last night?" Valen asked casually as he cooked.

"Not starving... still hungry though." the fox told him, watching the man work. He was... intrigued by his skills.
