The Doctor glowered at Harley, but had to admit that he had made a valid point. He was over eighteen years old, and in human terms he was an adult. He was reluctant to let Harley go off on his own, remembering what had happened last time. He was well aware that Harley might be able to find something even more dangerous in the Victorian era, than he would do in 21st century London. However, if he didn't let Harley go, he would likely try to sneak off anyway, and he had to show that he trusted Harley to make his own judgments.

The Doctor's icy eyes drilled into Harley's own blue eyes, as he reluctantly gave his permission for Harley to explore.

"Very well, ye can go off on ye own if ye want. As long as ye are back for dinner, ye can go where ye want. However..."

Here the Doctor became deadly serious, and made sure that Harley was listening to him before he finished his sentence.

"I had better not find that ye deliberately did something dangerous for a thrill, if I do, ye won't be sitting down for a long while, and I'll lock ye in your room to stop ye getting yourself into any other dangerous situations. Clear?"

Harley nodded his head, "Yeah, Yeah, I know the drill Doc, I'm not gonna go put my ass in danger just to either end up dead or spanked." he told him, "I'll be fine, enjoy yourselves." Harley then turned and walked off in his own direction, and he was walking for a good long while when he suddenly happened upon something in a storage yard that caught his attention. It was an angel statue, covering it's face.

He'd never seen something like it before and he was curious so he started heading over to it, "Huh, random place to have a ...crying angel..."

The Doctor was carrying Lance, not wanting for him to be lost within the multitude of people on the road. He was leisurely heading in the same direction as the house, knowing that it would soon be time for dinner. He stood aside at a crossroads to make way for a large cart. As he idly gazed at it, he suddenly went rigid in shock and horror. In the back of the cart was a large statue of a crying angel. As it was in appalling condition, it was not a danger at the moment, but the Doctor was horribly afraid that Harley might be facing a danger he didn't know about.

It was not far to the house if he ran all the way, and he wanted to leave Lance somewhere safe, as well as retrieve some reinforcements. He only hoped he would get hold of Harley before he encountered any Weeping Angels that were still functional.

Harley could see the Angel had seen better days, it looked to be in terrible condition. He frowned some and decided to just walk past it for now and go and find the Doctor since it was getting late. He headed along down the path and frowned when he noticed the angel from before was now looking at him. His eyes widened. "DOCTOR!" He yelled and took off at a run.

"Doctor!?!?!?" eventually he crashed into him, "There...there was this angel...a-and it looked at me when it wasn't looking at me when I first saw it!" he rushed out.

As the Doctor ran in the direction of the house, Harley literally ran into him, babbling about seeing a Weeping Angel and how it had looked at him. Quickly setting Lance down, he wrapped his arms around Harley, attempting to calm him. Even though he wanted to avert any hostile actions from the Weeping Angels, he needed to comfort and calm Harley. Only then, once he knew that Harley was ready, would he try to get details of the location he had seen the Weeping Angel. It was lucky he had allies in this time period, even though he had stopped many invasions by himself, it was alot easier with reinforcements.

Harley wasn't even sure if what he saw was a threat, but by the way it looked at him, it seemed as though it was. "What was it?" he asked, after being comforted enough by his Father. He pulled out of his arms and looked up into his blue eyes, "What...what are they?" he asked, still a little out of breath because he'd practically sprinted back to the Doctor.

The Doctor absently took hold of Lance's hand while he replied to Harley, not wanting to lose him while there were dangerous beings in the city. He fixed Harley with a serious gaze before responding quietly:

"What ye just saw was the creature ye thought looked so 'cool' and wanted to see a few days ago in the TARDIS. It is a being that moves very quickly, and when you see it as a statue, it is in a 'quantum-locked' state and cannot move unless nobody is looking directly at it. It feeds on temporal energy, and feeds off a person by touching them and sending them to a time before they were born. The Angel can then feed on the potential years that is the lifespan that person would have had in their proper time. Now, we need to get back to the house, with reinforcements it will be a lot safer to deal with them."

Harley looked at the Doctor when he explained what the weeping Angels were and why they were so bad, "Wait you mean...you mean that was a weeping Angel?" he asked and winced as he explained that they needed to get back to the house where there were reinforcements. "Can't we just zap away in the TARDIS?" He asked softly as he followed the Doctor back to the house they'd been staying in.

Once they had arrived in the courtyard, the Doctor answered Harley's question, turning to look at him with the sudden face of a Time Lord, and not the familiar grumpy Father.

"I cannot 'zap away', to do so would leave the human race vulnerable. I am the protector of this world, and I intend to stop this invasion."

Anticipating an argument, the Doctor decided to elaborate as much as he could, his Time Lord persona retreating, and the worried Father back in its place. Drawing both boys close against him, he explained rapidly, his eyes never leaving Harley's own.

"The TARDIS is not repaired enough for me to take off now, yet she no longer has a problem with her temperature. Harley, I want ye to listen very carefully to what I will tell ye. I will shortly be leaving the house with my friends to deal with the Weeping Angels, but I need to know that ye are your brother are safe. Therefore, I want ye to take him into the TARDIS and distract him as much as you can. Ye are the only person I trust to keep him safe. Please, do this for me."

Harley winced a bit when the Doctor took on a more harsh way of explaining that he couldn't just zap away, "Okay...okay I get it..." he answered and put an arm around him when he pulled both him and Lance close to his chest. "Wait but..." he paused and frowned, "I mean, I can keep him safe but I wanna help you fight too!" he told him seriously, eyes firm. "The TARDIS can watch over Lance, you know she can!"

"Let me help! Let me fight too!"
