Crime, Punishment, and Rehabilitation {for Criss}

Rafe was startled when the man grabbed his arm and he shook his head in response to the coaxing words, the kid of course not trusting the man since he didn't really trust anyone. The man was beginning to lose patience at this point and he pulled the boy by the arm, intending to play it off as though it was his kid and that he was just misbehaving but before he could do more than pull the child to his feet he was suddenly attacked. Rafe's eyes widened in surprise when his daddy walked over and knocked the man into one of the video games, the little guy stepping back though he nodded when asked if he was okay.

Security arrived soon enough and carted the man off to a holding cell till the police arrived. Chris quickly scooped Rafe up and hugged him tightly "You sure you are okay?" he asked gently rubbing the boys arm where he had seen the man grab him

Rafe was sort of startled by what was going on, the boy looking over at his daddy when the man scooped him up and asked if he was sure that he was okay. "Yea, I'm okay," he said softly, there was a slight bruise on his arm from where the man had pulled him to his feet but other than that the child was unharmed. "That was...kinda strange," the boy mused quietly, wondering what the man had wanted with him in the first place. "he said something about riding a go kart," the kid added in the same quiet voice.

"You know how they tell you never talk to strangers cause they want to take you away from your families and such?" Chris asked "Well....that was one of them" he said rubbing the boys head "But don't worry,I wouldn't have let him get far with my baby boy"

Rafe looked at his daddy sort of quizzically when the man mentioned strangers taking him from his family. "I don't think anyone ever told me that," the boy told him in a sort of matter of fact tone of voice. He knew that there were sick people that tried to abduct children for various reasons but as far as having been warned about such things or told how it could happen, that hadn't been high up on his father's list of priorities. "Not like we went out much so it wasn't an issue," he added, leaning against his daddy.

"Well thats why you need to always make sure I know where you are" Chris said stroking the boys hair gently "Go on and play,I don't think anyone else will bother you bud,not after what I did "

Rafe continued to look at his daddy and after the man finished talking he said quietly, "I told him I wasn't s'posed to." He wanted to make sure that his daddy knew that he'd been trying to do the right thing even though it hadn't really made a difference since the guy was bigger and had just grabbed him. All the same he'd tried to be good. When he was told to go and play Rafe nodded and wandered back to one of the games but he was more on edge now than he'd been before so it wasn't as much fun.

"Relax Rafe" Chris said taking note of how tense the child was "Don't worry,I'm going to be in earshot if you need me,no one will hurt you" he said kissing the top of the boys head "I promise" he added for good measure

Rafe looked at Chris when his daddy told him to relax and added that he was going to be within ear shot, the boy shaking his head as he said quietly, "I'm not worried about anyone hurting me...if he'd tried then he would have been in for a very rude awakening." There was a slight gleam in the boy's visible eye as he said that, reminding his daddy with his expression that he was considered a violent criminal. Or at least he had been at one point even if he was doing much better now that he had someone that actually gave half a damn about him.

"I know but you seem tense" Chris said with a concerned look "I just want you to know you can just relax." he said "I'm sorry you had to deal with a freak like that today,I wanted you to have some time to relax after the court"
