Alan nodded crisply in aproval, broadening his shoulders and straitening his back. "I'm certain you will, your mother tells us you're quite the cook...what exactly should I be referring to you as?" He began to state then suddenly drifted to a questoin, his mind had been given a chance to entertain a curiosity and had run with it.

Alan glanced her over briefly before motioning for her to come a little closer. They were going to be traveling together for some times and it would not do to have her looking at him as though he was some wandering demon. "Very good Susan, did our display a moment ago frighten you?"

Susan took one small and hesitant step closer to the man, blushing and chewing on her bottom lip. "A-a l-little, sir" She whispered honestly after a few moments of silence.

Susan calmed down a little at this and hesitantly took the mans offered hand, she even managed to send him a tiny, if a bit frightened, smile. The man seemed nice, but he'd sounded so angry only moments before...

Shakeing her hand softly Alan felt a surge of pride. Just because she was to be indebted to them didn't mean that their association had to be an unpleasent one. There would doubtlessly be bumps in the road, but having a few sweet faces to look at would smooth those out nicely.
