He took his phone out with his free hand and started to dial the number. "And don't give me that *My parents are not at home* nonsense."

“T-They’re not! Really!” Alex said as his eyes went wide as he went to try to knock the phone out of his hand but he kept missing. He’s already about to get the cops called on him so he has nothing to lose. But even if he succeeded in busting his phone, it’s not like Matt couldn’t just walk him to the nearest cop or police station if he wanted. But Alex wasn’t thinking that far ahead. He just wanted this stranger to leave him alone. “I’ll prove it to you but after I do, you can apologize and leave me alone for good!” He stated, now trying to lead him back in the direction of the house in a whiplash

Matt held the phone up, making it unable for Alex to reach it, before he sighed. He really didn't want to call the cops on Alex. But in the end, he couldn't let Alex get away scott-free.

He was satisfied when the boy finally went back home again. He followed him, expecting to at least meet some adult there who is responsible for Alex.

After a brisk walk, they soon made it to an expensive looking apartment building. Alex passed by some familiar faces that also live in the building that he sees almost every week but ignores them as he waved his security key to get entrance into the building, not discussing to anyone why he’s bringing a stranger along. Also one of his bullies live in the same building and he’s like his underwear to remain in his pants

Soon the entered the elevator and patiently waited for them to reach his floor, which was near the top of the building. He used his key one last time and led him inside before the door closed. Behind him. “Wait here.” He said as he went to get something while Matt could look over the large and expensive apartment. The 3 bedroom one floor apartment with multiple couches so there was a lot of area to sleep in. The kitchen, living room and everything was very large and there was even a deck with access to a great view outside. There was no pool but there was a communal pool that everyone in the apartment could share

Matt was indeed surprised by the expensive building they entered. With Alex so usual fashion, he didn't expect him to live in such a wealthy area. He saw him entering the code and for some reason memorized it.

They entered the apartment and Matt was indeed surprised. He didn't want to pry, but he did look in the living room. Alex parents really must have a lot of money.

Alex did not care if he was looking around as he was sure after he proved he was right, the stranger would leave him alone and he would never see him again. He returned, his hood still on his head as he showed him a piece of paper. “See! You can go now!” He said as he handed him a piece of paper showing their flight info, with the return flight not for many month. But he would not be shocked if it was just a temporary break before they leave again, something that’s common. He’s supposed to have people check in on him, clean and give him food but that’s very uncommon and they rarely speak to each other

Matt took the paper and frowned. Where these parents serious? This boy wasn't really living alone, right?

"But...you have a babysitter or a relative staying with you, right?" he asked, his tone slowly shifting from anger to concern. Was this poor boy really alone all day? And at night too?
