The Dorkiest Boyfriends BNHA (For Angel)

July 15th marked the day Izuku Midoriya was going to turn eighteen. It was a day that Shouto Todoroki wanted to make really special for his boyfriend. This would also mark each other's one month anniversary since they started dating each other.

Two special occasions on one day. Did that mean he would need to bake two cakes? Shouto wasn't very confident with his baking skills, even after asking his older sister to teach him. (One week of baking classes from his sister didn't exactly fill Shouto with confidence.) He decided that one cake would be enough. He just didn't want to risk messing up another.

So the night before Izuku's birthday. Shouto secretly baked a small cake for his boyfriend and decorated it the best he could. It was a plain vanilla cake with vanilla icing. The only color on the whole thing was the dark green frosting he used to write down Izuku's name.

After storing it in a small fridge inside his dorm room. Shouto went through the motions of the day like everyone else in their class. Izuku was given birthday cards and congratulations on turning another year older.

(It may have just been him just seeing things. But when Izuku came back from seeing All Might during their lunch period, he seemed to be in some kind of discomfort sitting down.)

The school day eventually came to an end and everyone headed back to the dorms for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Shouto chose that time to walk next to his boyfriend. "Would you mind coming to my room Izuku? I have something I want to give you." He asked softly as they climbed the steps to Heights Alliance.

Izuku was... Not used to this. Still. The outpouring of affection and support from his friends. HIS friends. Gods, he used to be alone, but now? Now he had so many people watching out for him and happy to spend time with him. Ochaco, and Tsu, and Tenya, Fumikage and Hitoshi, hell even Kacchan was on good terms with him. In a... Friendly rivalry 'I want to beat you to being the best' sort of way.

He liked it thougH. Having Kacchan and all of his friends was... Amazing. And so... Strange to him.

He had All Might- ALL MIGHT!- as practically a fill in dad. Same with Aizawa-sensei and Mic-sensei, who had basically adopted the whole class as their kids by this point.

And more than anybody else, he had-

"Shoucchan!" he replied, smiling brightly as Shouto came up to him, so close. His sunshine smile was at its most blinding when Shouto was around. Since the Sports Festival in year one, he'd wanted to be close to him. Since the Stain incident... He'd realized it wasn't just some platonic attraction. Gently, he entwined his hand with Shouto's. Everybody knew, by this point. Kacchan knew immediately, somehow, if his 'Fucking finally, nerds' comment the day after they began dating was anything to go by.

"Lead the way, Shoucchan."

Shouto's pale cheeks turned pink as his hand was entwined with Izuku's. Despite their relationship being public at this point, Shouto was naturally more of an introvert. So public displays of affection always managed to get a reaction from the split haired teen. A good reaction none the less.

Squeezing his boyfriend's hand, Shouto kept his head down as they passed their classmates and went up the stairs to his dorm room. "You have to close your eyes once you sit down on my bed okay? And no peeking either." He added with a subtle smile. He gave his boyfriend's bottom a gentle swat to get him going.

Once he was sure that Izuku had his eyes closed. Shouto went to his mini-fridge and got the cake. Biting his lip, he carefully put in five candles and lit them using his quirk. Taking a deep breath and turning around. Shouto walked over to the bed. "You can open your eyes Izuku." Shouto held out the cake with a cute blush staining his cheeks. "Happy birthday."

Izuku couldn't help the bubbly laugh that left him as Shouto had him close his eyes, squeaking quite cutely as his bottom was swatted. He sat down as instructed, and closed his eyes, fidgeting a bit.

Soon, he was allowed to open up, and he did... Letting out a soft gasp of surpise.

"Oh, Shoucchan..." he said softly, a big smile on his face, even as his eyes welled with happy tears. Once a crybaby, always a crybaby. He got it from mom.

"Did you make it?"

No, not the tears! Anything but tears! Seeing Izuku's green eyes well up with the clear liquid made Shouto start to tear up in response. Seeing his boyfriend get so emotional almost made his stomach do the oddest of flips in his belly. "I made it yesterday for you. My sister Fuyumi taught me so I could do it on my own." He admitted as he sat down next to the freckled teen.

Holding the cake up to his face, Shouto gave him a warm smile. "Make a good wish when you blow out the candles alright? But don't think it over too long." He teased. Sometimes Izuku had the habit of overthinking and overanalyzing things. And it wouldn't surprise Shouto if he did it now.

Izuku pouted sweetly at the overanalyzing comment. He got better about handling that! ...Sort of. Sometimes.

...On a good day...

He loved that Shouto made the cake for him though. Thinking for a moment, he blew the candles out, before leaning over. He placed a soft, almost innocent kiss on Shouto's cheek.

"Thank you, Shoucchan. For everything."

Shouto just about lit himself on fire when he registered the feeling of his boyfriends' lips on his cheek. His face resembled a cherry in color! From the tips of his ears down to his neck, it was nothing but red. "Y-Your welcome." Shouto stammered, his voice so soft that it was almost a whisper!

"H-here. Let me get some plates so we can eat." Shouto quickly offloaded the cake to his boyfriend as he got up to grab some plastic forks and a knife along with two plates. Sitting back down and scooting to the center of his bed, he crossed his legs and cut two slices of cake, and put each on a plate. "I hope you like it, it's just a plain vanilla cake." He admitted sheepishly.

Izuku was... Pleased, to say the least, to see the effect his kiss had on his boyfriend. It made him quite happy.

Happily taking his plate, he smiled brightly at Shouto.

"Shoucchan... It's not a plain cake. You made it for me. That makes it more than special." he told him, taking a bite.

"Mmm... It's tasty too. Fuyumi-san would be proud."

Shouto took a bite from his own cake and smiled at the compliment. As someone who didn't have cake regularly, or any sweets for that matter, the vanilla taste was more than enough for him. He likely wouldn't eat more than a single slice unless he wanted to give himself a tummy ache. "You're the special one here Izuku. But, thank you."

Taking another bite from his cake, Shouto made a gesture for Izuku to join him further up on the bed. Specifically, so that they could lean against each other. "I got a few birthday gifts for you too. They're under the bed." He had gotten five in particular.

Two of the gifts were Hero merch. The first being a super rare All Might plushie. (Thank you daddy's credit card.) While the other was a fan-made 'Hellfrost' shirt. Despite his Hero name still just 'Shouto', the fans of his across Japan had taken it upon themselves to give him a proper Hero name. With many internet forums holding debates or discussions of what his proper Hero name should be.

Hellfrost was pretty cool, but Shouto already had his true hero name in mind for when he debuted. Partially inspired by Izuku and his king nature.

Anyways, the other tree toys were...

Izuku perked up a bit at the promise of presents. He didn't like being greedy, but... Well. His mom had been pretty much the only one to get him presents before All Might and now Shouto entered his life. Presents excited him. Carefully, he got the bags out from under the bed, and moved to sit with Shouto, leaning against him.

Carefully, he unpackaged the first one, which was the super cool shirt. Izuku's eyes gleamed, and he made quick work of changing into it. It was soft too. Looking at Shouto with a shy smile, he nervously tugged on his compression sleeve that covered his arm scar. After a moment, he found the All Might plushie in the next bag...

And nearly burst into tears as he hugged it tightly. It was amazing!

The others were in one bag, and he opened it, unsure what to expect.
