The Foundling (for Adamantium Babe)
The boy slowly crawled out from the hole in the old building. It had kept the rain off of him at least, but he knew he'd freeze at night if he didn't find something better in a few hours. The rags he wore offered little protection, and he didn't dare try to make a fire. Not after what had happened last time.
Moving his long brown hair out of his green eyes, he tried to put that incident out of his mind. First things first, he needed to get something to eat.
****
One advantage of being small and ragged was that people rarely noticed him. He seemed to just fade into the background to most, just part of the scenery. And once their back's were turned his quick hands could get something from the market stalls. He'd been caught a few times of course, and been chased off by blows, but most of the venders just thought of him as a minor annoyance.
As he debated which vendor to hit he saw a woman pass him by holding a small canvas bag, with the smell of cooked meat coming from within. One of the meat pies from the second vendor to the right. The boy gulped as he imagined them. He'd only seen them from afar, and the baker had threatened him with a meat cleaver when he'd been caught sneaking up to his stall. He didn't dare try to steal from him again, but now maybe he could get one of the pies.
He slowly followed the woman, ducking behind barrels and into alleys when he thought she might see him. Gradually he moved closer, until her bag was just inside of his reach. He gave one last glance to see if she was paying attention, and reached into the bag.

Hannabelle, the Priestess of the town, was walking into the streets after visiting the sick and the poor that had nothing to live with; she brought them food, blankets and hope. And of course, the word of Lathander. She had blue eyes, and long, beautiful silver hair, she was tall, with rosy skin. Despite her beauty, she was also strict, since she often had to teach to the young future priestesses, and they sometimes required discipline. Hannabelle decided to buy a meatpie for a friend of her that had no money and lived in the streets, when suddently felt something in her bag. She turned quickly around.

The boy grabbed the pie and ran as fast as he could away from the woman. Now he just had to loose her and he could eat. He dodged through the crowd into the street, looking up just in time to see a horse at full gallop almost upon him. His legs froze, and he shut his eyes...

Hannabelle didn't even have the time to say "stop!", that the boy got invested by a horse.
She was shoked, and immediately run towards him.
"Let me pass! Please! He's hurt!!" She dodged some people that were looking at the boy on the ground.
She quickly used a spell to heal the worst wounds, but she didn't have enough magic to heal him completely.
Even if he was a thief, he was still a little boy.
She decided to bring him to the temple and take care of him.

"I'm sorry, my horse..." The ride said as he climbed down. "Is he, is he alright?"
The boy struggled in her arms, mouth opening to reveal four elongated canines. He also had claws, black like a dog's. It was clear that, whatever he was, he wasn't entirely human. As he thrashed in her grip he made no recognizable words, only growls and hisses.

"....He will be."
And without another word, she got up and run to the temple.

The boy thrashed even as his wounds bled, tears falling down his cheeks as he struggled to get away from her. He wasn't sure if she was going to hurt him, and didn't intend to find out.

When Hannabelle finally arrived to the Lathander temple, she went to the infirmary, putting the boy on one of the beds. She then murmured an healing spell and started to cure his wounds.

The boy thrashed a little more and tried to run when she put him down, but saw that his wounds were closing up. He looked up at the woman, wondering if she was causing it.

When she was done, the Priestess sighed, and looked at the boy.
"Hello. How do you feel?"
