(Game Jam 2025) A Tale Switch

Hi! This is the first game I ever create in RPG Maker, and for that reason; I was too ambitious and ended up going back and forth with multiple plots and dynamics. The result is a game that is about a third of what I originally planned, so if it's well recieved, maybe I will continue it until It has the lenght I originally planned.

The development was quite troublesome, I didn't like how the default faces in RPG Maker MZ looked, so I ended up doing all the faces from scratch, same for some tilesets such as the Implements, for which I recorded some of the sounds (The others were taken from Freesound.org and the like).
The game also features a pretty crappy Spank animation, but hey! It's an animation at the end of the day isn't it?
I wasn't sure how to implement the Dungeons and Dragons part, so I just added a couple instances where you roll a dice (I know, how original.) The Role Reversal part also ended up being quite short, though as I said, I might expand it later on.

All of these factors (plus procrastination, though I don't like to admit it) resulted in me just finishing the game today! So please, if you find any bugs notify me.

Warning!
This game is not meant to be fair, if you don't like your character getting humilliated or being put in situations they don't deserve, this might not be the game for you.

Synopsis:
After you and your party defeated the dark lord many years ago. The realm granted you a piece of land where you and your companions can live peacefully. Yet despite the tranquility, you still spank them quite regularly to keep them on their best behaviour. It seems they appreciate your leadership, but, maybe you have crossed the line that separates discipline with being an authoritarian maniac. Perhaps it's time for someone to put you in your place!

This game features F/F, F/M, M/F, and M/M (Depending on what gender you chose for your character.)

Future plans:
- Rework the dice system so it's tied to stats instead of being completely random (This might take some time because i'm not quite sure how to implement it properly).
- Fixed all of the typos. If you find any please point them out! English is not my first language and sometimes I have problems when writing.

Bugs

 

When you spank Candile, specifically after reading her diary and stealing the butt plug, then take her outside, you get frozen in place. You have to force close the game.

 

When you fail the roll on Fergus to convince him of a spanking, or throw the jar and spank him, it causes to create doubles of Fergus. Basically one sitting in the chair, and one either in front of the chair or standing in the corner.

 

If you read the diary, but choose to not mention it, then go outside and step on the flowers, the cat runs by. If you apologize, Candile goes back inside. If you follow her then confront her of the diary, she stands in front of the table and a 2nd candile shows up behind her, which in turn locks you in place and have to force close.

 

If you visit Ryul, and let her show you the fortune, then go downstairs but refuse to drink the potion, you get a perma black screen and cand see where you are going.

 

After convincing Fergus needs a spanking and winning the roll, the scene goes by just fine. Afterwards, if you go throw the Jar, you get a black screen and the game locks up

 

When visiting Candile, if you choose NOT to spank her at the piano, then go upstairs to need her diary, then back downstairs to confront her, she gets into position. Instead of finding an implement or starting the spanking scene, if you go outside, the game locks up, forcing you to close the game.

 

Same thing as Candile 3, if you dont spank her, read her diary, dont confront, go outside and see the cat, then apologize, you get 2 sets of dialogue. One that says its fine and goes back inside, then right after that she calls you a bully with some other dialogue and locks up the game.

Despite all the bugs sora mentioned I think you did the game really nicely, I like the sprites and the scenes and would love to see more of it!

Yes the game itself is quite fun, very interested to see where it goes if you do plan on continuing.
I wouldve liked to see some alternatives with the Player Character on the receiving end, maybe if you lost the dice roll with Fergus, or when you rejected Venali to harshly, or even when you stepped on the flowers. Not just at the end.
I disagree with you about the "crappy spanking animation". Its more than what most devs do! something is sometimes better than nothing.

This is just wonderful. Fun characters, well-written scenes and the role reversal scenario is great. You nail that the key to those scenarios being satisfying is lots of build up, the future victim being firmly established as a Big Scary Top and then the fall being elaborately satisfying.

No problem! Most of them seem pretty easy to fix. The one with Candile where you get locked up when going outside with her, i think is just a matter of making the black cat scene hold off. Maybe set a trigger where it only activates when you get close to the flowers or something.
I think this because if you go back outside before hand to trigger it, then back in to spank her more, you dont get locked out. (outside of the double Candile)
