I actually prefer male PCs. In fact, I'd never play as a female character if given the choice.

I always go throught game as male and female, and try scenes as spankee and spanker .I don't like only male /male scenes .

But of course you should do in your game, what make you happy, so you can stay longer by this game, through to the end .

Look like you'll never please everybody with the same game. Plus, your universe will gain in consistency if you make your own choice

I prefer female PCs, since I really like all kind of F/F scenes. And with a female PC I can still have F/M oder M/F scenes, when I'm in the mood.

But as you can see, opinions are quite different. So giving people a choice might be important, if you want more people to play the game, even if it means more work.
But like Kuidelu already said, you'll never please everybody. You can only try to please as many as possible.
