"You'll see. It will be alright. How about we do something together tomorrow? Hm? How about we go to the mall and the park?" He gently stroke her shoulder. He kissed her forehead. "I wish you a first good night. And if I get your other father from watching TV, he will come too."
Then he stood and went to their bedroom.

Shawn came and knocked. "Hello it's the good night man." He smiled as he came in.

Sandy shrugged. "I want to find out first what she likes. I want to spent some time with you." She said and smiled. It had been some time. And who knew maybe they would bump into them tomorrow.

"That would be fun, I guess...Maybe they have a nice mall here...would be at least something", she said and hugged her father. "Good night, I love you daddy", she mumbled and blushed slightly. She seldom called her father 'daddy', only if she was emotional and seeking comfort.
As she waited for her father to arrive, she read a few pages in the book that lay on her nightstand. "Dad", she said and rolled her eyes. She wasn't 5 years old anymore.

Dr. Rush nodded thoughtfully. "As you like", he said and scratched his chin. He smiled slightly as she mentioned that she wanted to spend time with him. "I am looking forward to that as well", he said and ruffled her hair. "It's late, you should go and sleep", he told her and stood up.

Gregory watched her and hugged her once more before going out.
Shawn chuckled and then sat down. "Aww you're breaking my heart little one." He liked to tease her sometimes. But then he smiled. "Oh you're reading? Still that book you had last week or is it a new one?"

Sandy smiled and hugged her father. She finished her dinner and then looked up. "Will you come and say good night before you vanish in your study again?" She watched him with sad eyes and then went up to get ready for bed.
She got her pj, got into her bed and read a bit, looking now and then up.

Phoebe smiled and snuggled close to him. "I am reading the second part now, it's really good", she said and showed the book to him. "Could we go and buy another one tomorrow in the mall? I need the third part as well", she said happily.

Dr. Rush, already working again, nodded. "Yes, sure...", he said, half-in thoughts and looked up, just long enough to catch the sad look on Sandy's face. He sighed as she went upstairs and followed her after a bit of time. "Hey, I came to wish you a good night", he said, his voice gentle. He kissed her on the forehead. "Sleep well, tomorrow we will have a lot of fun", he promised and stroke her hair gently. "I love you"

Shawn looked. "Oh I'm sure they have that. I'll make sure we go there. Plus Greg is rather happy if you interest yourself in books than anything illegal." He chuckled. "Sleep well Phoebe. Love you." He hugged her and got off to his and Gregory's bedroom.

Sandy smiled as she saw her father and hugged him. "I'm looking forward to it papa! Good night, love you too, don't stay awake too long to work." Well sometimes he slept in in his study on the couch he had.

Gregory was first up and got ready for the day. Shawn got up too and prepared coffee and some pancakes. Gregory then went up and knocked on the door. "Phoebe? Are you awake?"

Phoebe rose an eyebrow. "As if I had ever done anything illegal...I am 15, don't forget that...", she mumbled and shook her head. Really now, what was her father thinking?!

She watched Shawn leaving and continued reading for a bit until she got too tired and retired for the night.

"I promise", Dr. Rush answered and switched off the light as he left Sandy's room. He worked for a couple more hours before he lay down at the couch and fell asleep. The next morning came early, but he woke up in time and started preparing breakfast, wondering if Sandy would come down by her own if he finished preparing the bacon for them.

Phoebe, still asleep, mumbled something as she heard a knock. "Hmmhmm...", she answered sleepily, turned away from the door and continued dreaming for a bit.

Gregory waited a bit and came back. This time he opened the door. "Ah I see a sleepyhead. Rise and shine Phoebe." He opened the blinds and smiled brightly at Phoebe who was hit by sunrays. Gregory was an early bird, the opposite of Shawn, but who could cope with Greg's overly happy demanor in the morning.

Sandy woke up alone indeed. She got to the bathroom and got ready for the day, then she went down. At least it seemed that her father was up. "Hello papa." She smiled as she saw him in the kitchen. She hugged him and looked up. "Hmmn beacon! You're making pancakes too? That would be very nice!" She got to the fridge and took out the orange juice.

Phoebe, not aware of the 'danger' she was in, hissed like a vampire as the light fell into her face. "GO AWAY!!", she barked angrily, hating the fact that her father wanted her to stand up early at the weekend. Angrily, she shoot a pillow at him and hid under hers afterwards to find some more sleep. Really now!

Dr. Rush, who was just about to make pancakes, smiled at Sandy. "Indeed, I know that you like that.", he said and started preparing the pancakes as well. "I wondered if you would like to go to a restaurant later today, and eat something nice after the shopping", he said and smiled at her. Maybe she would like that, who knew?

Gregory got hit by the pillow and looked at Phoebe. "Now! Young lady what kind of behaviour is this?" He frowned slightly and came closer. "It's time to stand up. Breakfast is ready downstairs. Even your father is waiting for you."

Sandy sat and looked up smiling. "Oh yes! That would be very nice! It's been ages since we went out to eat." She said. Well everything were she could spent some time with her father was nice.
She waited for breakfast and digged in with appetite. "Hmnn. So yummy!" She said and licked some more maple syrup away from her fork.

"Well, I am not hungry...I will skip the breakfast and join you later...by the way, you started it by attacking me with sunlight", she teenager answered slightly grumpily and tried to hide even more between her pillows and the blanket.

Dr. Rush smiled as he saw how happy Sandy seemed about the idea of going out to eat later on. She also complimented his food and he started eating as well. Soon, they were ready and Dr. Rush started to clean up the kitchen. "Well little one, why don't you go and get your things, I will be done here in a minute", he said and hugged her with one arm to him before he continued cleaning up.
