Hogwarts: More Power Equals Responsibility

Chole looked at the girl with a soft smile. “Actually really good, all of the classes seem really interesting. I’m interested to see how Professor Snape is in class,” Chole said.

[Barbossasdaughter]

“I don’t know...He...is stern though..very nice with me.” Well they only have known each other for a short time. “Though some elder Slytherin said he is really serious and he won’t stand for any nonsense.” She shrugged. “We’ll see.”

Chole nodded not that she was one to cause trouble on purpose. When it came to potions, she got curious about what might happen , if you mix certain ingredients together. Therefore, she might get a little off task. “That’s true for almost any professor,” Chole said as they entered. She sat down at a cauldron next to Sandy.

Sandy didn’t want to be too front and did sit in the middle, rather outside of the rows. She looked around and wondered if they were going to brew in the first lesson. She looked into the cauldron. Was it the one they had bought in Diagon Alley?

Snape soon entered the classroom and looked around. He quickly called off role and explained some basic rule before stating they would complete a basic potion today. The instructions were listed on the board and he provided them with the ingredients needed. “Go ahead and get started,” He said.

Chole was excited to stay a potion in the first day. “I’m glad we get to do some potion making. Lectures get a little dull after a bit,” She said.

Sandy nodded. “True.” She began working, reading and preparing her ingredients. As her potion had to simmer to 10 minutes, she looked a bit around and noticed a boy struggling quite a bit. His potion was bubbling quite much. “Oh you think he’ll male a mess?” Sandy asked Chole.

Snape was looking around checking on people, but not really helping. He was seeing, which students could follow directions. After all, most of these potions were all pretty basic and should be rather easy.

Chole looked at Sandy with a sigh as it seemed their own potion had been going well. “Yeah, but I don’t think we are allowed to help another group. I think it’s a minor test right now. Snape wants to see our skills,” Chole said.

Sandy looked at Chole’s potion and was happy it seemed to be doing good.
It was boring to wait and as she couldn’t help, she decided to tinker a bit with the left over ingredients she had.

Chole looked at Sandy as she put something into the potion. “Wait, don’t do.....” Chole said. All of a sudden their potion turned purple instead of red, but it was kind of cool. “Actually it’s kind of interesting. We could mess with it a little bit more,” Chole said.

“Ah see? It’s quite a nice colour. And I think the bark juice only will colour it differently.” She told her friend, thinking she was right.
