Pokémon in America is infamous for censorship, mostly at the hands of the notorious 4Kids. Claiming that Japanese onigiri a donut, cutting a scene of a swimsuit clad cross-dressing James (complete with inflatable breasts), and editing out a shot of Meowth dressed as Adolf Hitler. Anyway, today I was reading a list of censorship examples in Pokémon on a censorship-in-TV wiki. I had recognized most of them, but then I came to something I'd never heard of. Supposedly, in the original Japanese of Season Two, Episode 1, the episode ends like this:
"The scene where Misty says explains to Ash the following: 'If I were to act like that around my parents, I would get a firm spanking!' She says while rubbing her bum and blushing rather hard."
That alone is incredibly exciting. Not only did Misty get spanked when she was younger, but she still could be she acted like… whatever it was. (There seems to be some confusion as it whether it's Japan's or America's season 2 ep 2; the episode order differs between the two versions, so I'm not sure what episode exactly this is from.) It gets way better though:
"After the explanation, it cuts to a flashback of Misty being pulled over her mothers lap getting spanked, crying out in pain as every smack hits her bum. 'Ow! I’m sorry! Don’t spank me!'"
A. Maze. Ing. If this is reliable (more on that in a bit) Pokémon has a real, OFFICIALl spanking scene, featuring Pokémon's most spankable character! I would kill for that to happen. Or at least maim someone pretty seriously, anyway. To top thing's off, Censorship Wiki reports that:
"Ash and Brock are both confused by this and Ash blushes and looks at his companion's butt. Misty catches him and says, 'Ah! Don’t get any ideas!” as she covers the cheeks of her bottom with her hands as the episode ends. The whole scene was cut including the lead up."
Yep, as an added bonus we get a cute PokéShipping moment, and a hint that Ash might be a spanko himself. (Misty too, obviously - subconsciously or otherwise. Why else would she bring it up?)
The problem is that I can't really believe that this supposedly censored scene ever existed to begin with. Neither did one commenter who suggested that there was no evidence for it. A site admin responded with this: “It occurs in the Japanese version, and was removed in the 4KIDS version. That is why I included it in this wiki page.”
I’ve done some digging, and haven’t found anything to corroborate that an official but censored Misty spanking scene exists. I’d imagine that if it did I would have heard about it somewhere. Everyone knows about the censored Misty-slaps-Ash scene in ep 1 after all. But I haven’t quite given up on it either. Here’s my reasoning for why it might exist and why it might not.
IT’S FAKE:
1. If it was real we’d know, and there’s no other evidence (that I’ve found)
2. It seems sort of random in the context of the show.
3. There’s no other spanking in Pokémon (Not really, anyway).
4. It could have easily been made up by some wishful thinking spanko out there.
5. WE’VE NEVER SEEN MISTY’S MOM/PARENTS, outside of this alleged scene.
On the other hand though,
IT’S REAL because:
1.
It’s too detailed to just be made up. There’s a build up, a flashback, and commentary afterwards.
2.
It’s not detailed enough to be made up. There’s none of the bare bottoms, implements, panties, etc., that so many of us love, and would probably have included if we made it up. Plus, if you made it up, why not her sisters spanking Misty? Why not Ash or Brock? More exciting options than parents who don’t necessarily exist IMO.
3.
It’s in an otherwise factual wiki. All the other examples I saw on there seemed legit. Why make up just this one?
4.
Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, as Carl Sagan might say.
5. In a just world, Misty would have been spanked in the official anime.
Anyway, to put an end to my speculation I’ve written the admin who claimed that the scene existed to ask if he/she has any evidence or can reference any source that supports the existence of the Misty spanking scene. Hopefully I’ll find out either way soon. Either that or maybe someone here on Anime OTK has the answer that I seek. If you want to check out the wiki yourself here’s the link:

UPDATE:
The admin got back to me with the suggestion to check a site called Dogasu's Backpack, which is a great Japanese to Dubbe comparative source, as that's where the admin got the info. After looking around there I couldn't find anything to support the scene though, and the admin later explained that since Dogasu deleted it she/he would remove it as well.
Right now going through old web pages for Dogasu's Backpack to see if Dogasu ever listed such a scene, but no luck so far.
It looks like it probably, almost certainly, never existed to begin with, which is a damn shame. I am curious as to where it came from though; it doesn't seem like some random error. I doubt I'll ever know for sure though.
In my heart I'll always believe that it happened, though
