Eighteen yearold Takashi Kusanagi groans as he slowly opens his eyes. "U-ugh..." he laid on what felt to be a grassy ground, looked up to see a blue sky with patches of clouds, the sun shining above. "Wh-wha...?" he slowly sits up and rubs his eye. Once he was more awake he looks around and realizes he wasn't in the city anymore. He was in a small clearing of a forest. "Where the hell am I...? he asked himself. He tries to think back and remembers walking down his usual shortcut home when a bright circular light enveloped him from beneath then passing out. Now he was here "What was that?" He stands up and checks himself. He was still wearing his casual clothes consisting of a gray blazer with a red undershirt and matching gray long pants. On the ground next to him was his duffle bag containing all his kendo gear, including his bamboo training sword. "Well at least I have some form of protection." he said as he picked up the bag. He opens it and finds to his relief that he still had several energy bars left. "And I won't go hungry... yet."

Takashi didn't really notice, but a small girl a while back had noticed Takashi laying in the ground. She had no idea how he got there or why, but she'd never seen a human like him before. In fact, she wasn't even human herself. A neko girl. She knew he couldn't be from here because of his odd clothing, but none the less she was curious.

The girl slowly moved in to investigate on the strange human. Sniffing the air, mainly walking on all fours while her tail swayed gently and her little cat-like ears flickered at any movements or sound coming from the boy. She canted her head and got up really close now to sit next to him. She bent down to sniff at him and picked up his arm before dropping it. He seemed to still be out cold at the time.

She eyed his bag nearby not knowing what it had inside or how to open it. She picked it up by the strap and dropped it just like she did the boys arm and when it dropped, it made a noise of some kind of clanking. It startled her a little and she flinched back.

Soon enough, the boy began to wake. Quickly, the little neko girl scurried off into the bushes so she wouldn't be seen and hid there to watch him closely as he sat up to look around and go through his bag. She tried to look through a hole in the bushes so she could have a clear look at him.

It was at that moment he sensed he was being watched... or stalked. He reopens his bag and pulls out his Kendo stick. "Who's there!?" he called out... if it even was a person at all. A part of him wanted it to be so he could have someone to help him out in knowing where he was.

The neko blinked. His actions were quite strange to the girl although at least they had the same language. She moved back which caused rustling in the bushes, so it was easy for Takashi to spot her out.

He looks in the direction of the sound of someone rustling and much to his relief it was only a little girl. He breathes a sigh of relief and puts away his practice sword. He slowly approaches the girl and realized she wasn't an ordinary girl. She had little cat ears and, at first, thought they were fake as he had seen many girls, into that sort of thing, wear fake cat ears. However, he knew what real cat ears look like and hers were definitely real. He knew there were no such thing as actual real life Neko girls... at least where he was from. But for the moment he set these thoughts aside and focused on the here and now.

"Hey kid I don't suppose you happen to know where I am, do you?" he asked.

OOC: Since she's young she could only know the forest and the town she steals from.

The girl was startled when the boy walked up to her seeing her. She backed up and fell back on her bottom just staring up at him like a deer in the headlights.

Takashi would then hear a few men yelling in the distance. The neko blinked and snapped out of it before shaking her head and quickly dashing off to go hide in the forest eventually climbing into a tree.

The men ran up seeing Takashi. "Hey boy!" One of the men called out to him. The three men caught up and stopped to take a breath. "Did you happen to see a young neko child running around here?" One of them asked. He was in normal peasant clothes as the other two looked like officers. The two officers looked at each other, then to Takashi. "Hey, you look like you're not from around here judging by those clothes....State your name and where you're from." One of them demanded. The peasant huffed. "We can't worry now, she's getting away!" He interrupted.

Meanwhile, the neko child was listening in. Her hearing was rather good. She snickered and climbed from branch to branch until she reached a tree closer by where she could get a good view.

The other officer eyed Takashi's kendo sword. "What kind of sword is that anyway, boy? That doesn't look like it could even cut it's way through a paper bag let alone be taken as a sword." The two officers chuckled. The peasant sighed. "Can we focus?! That kid needs to be found!"

Takashi smiled softly at the girl seeing how she was a little scared of him. "Don't worry I won't hurt you. I'm just trying to-" it was then he heard other people coming. Looked in the direction of the noise and in that moment the Neko scurried off by the time he looked back. The peasant accompanied by two guards threw him for a loop. They looked like they were from a western renaissance fair or characters from the occasional RPG he played in his spare time. He knew right then and there, for sure that he was no longer in Japan... or even in his world. When they started questioning him he quickly thinks of how to answer. "It's not meant to cut, it's a training sword. Like a wooden one only much more durable and light-weight." he explained brandishing it. "As for the girl..." he shrugged "No clue... but uh... while you're here could you point me in the direction of the nearest town or village? I'm kinda lost and as you said I'm absolutely not from around here."

The peasant sighed. "Oh, I knew you'd say something like that....It's going to take days to find her now.....she always gets away...." He said in reply. The two guards looked at each other and smiled. "Training, huh? Well good luck with that. If you're looking for Maika Village, it's right over there." One of the guards pointed out to the village that could be seen, but it was quite a distance away. "Just follow that there path and it'll be smooth sailing from there." He added.

The peasant grabbed Takashi's shoulders. "Wait, hold up a second....Before you go on your way, maybe you could help look for that girl? I swear I saw her come this wa-" He was then interrupted by a small acorn wacking him right in the forehead. He quickly put a hand over the now bruise that was forming. "What was that?!"

The neko girl stood up on the branch high up in the tree. She razzed all of them. "That's for yanking my tail 'afore!" She yelled as she frowned. The three men widened their eyes. "There she is, that little thief! Get down from there!" The peasant yelled. The neko huffed and sat down on the large branch. "Make me!" She said challenging them. They all growled and gave angry looks at her. There was no way for them to get up there since none of them knew how to climb. "When we do get you, we're making sure you stay caught!" One of the guards yelled. "You can try!" The girl snapped back before she smirked.

Why did she have to do that...? he was trying to help her get clear. They exchanged hostile words to which Takashi sighed. He thinks of how to handle this situation when an idea occurred to him. He was probably going to need money if he was going to get anywhere in this new world and whatever their currency was here, he was flat broke. "Uh say I could really use the money and I could help catch her for you. I use to climb trees a lot when I was a kid." he offered.

"Really?!" The peasant grabbed Takashi's shoulders and looked rather pleased. "Thank you!.....Uh....What's you name? I want to thank you properly for your help when we catch her, you know." He wondered.

The neko looked like she was taking a nap since she was rather bored now, but she flicked her ears up and pouted some. "Hey! You can't help them!" She told Takashi. "Why don't you go and do som'n else?!"

The guards frowned up at her. "Quiet you! Just you wait until we catch you! You'll be sorry!" One yelled. The guards looked at Takashi and one of them patted his shoulder. "Thanks kid, that is if you can really do it. You sure you're up for the task? That girl is lots of trouble. Always coming in and out of town stealing different things. We've caught her plenty of times before, but she always seems to escape. We've now been trying to catch her for weeks!" He explained.
