Making Your Dreams Come True

She was his friend. Marianna's heart melted, and it took all that remained of her self control to keep herself from crying. She wanted to be with him and wanted to flee all at once. But because she was certain she'd cry if he protested anymore, she didn't refuse again.
"I don't want my mom to see me. I'll come to your house, but I have to go home by myself." That was, she added mentally, if she did return home.

Nick's mood brightened at that as he showed his white teeth off once again in a smile. "Great! My parents aren't home so you can stay for however long you'd like." The teen brushed the hair that was threatening to cover Marianna's face out of the way again. "I actually live right on this street so it shouldn't be that far of a walk.

The boy flipped the skateboard and caught it before walking towards his house and leading the way. He turned to the girl and mentioned, "I might even show you how to do some sweet moves with my skateboard but that'll probably have to be another day because it takes a little while to learn. There's still a bunch of stuff we can do to stay entertained though."

Marianna followed hesitantly. "That's. . .sweet of you." What an odd guy. He seemed to understand that something was wrong, that she badly needed company, but was sensitive enough not to pressure her for answers. Being entertained certainly sounded wonderful, but she had to stifle a giggle at the offer of skateboarding lessons.
"I think you might want to focus on being a little more, uh, careful skateboarding yourself first. That was a close call earlier. Aren't you scared you'll really get hurt one day?"

"I already told you, you didn't see that!" Nick laughed as he reached the front door of his house and bent over to grab a pair of keys from under the door mat. "I should be fine...as long as you're here to help me back up anyways."

The boy unlocked the front door and opened it so Marianna could come inside. He then shut it behind him and pointed straight ahead. "Keep going straight and go down those stairs to head to the basement. I'll meet you down there in a second, I'm going to wash my battle scars in the bathroom real quick."

Marianna, still laughing, followed his directions. This was a nice place. And to think of having a basement all to yourself! She'd gotten used to not even having a room of her own.
In the basement, she sank down to rest and took in all that surrounded her with her eyes.

'I hope she doesn't think this place is a mess.' Nick thought to himself as he entered the bathroom and turned on the faucet before washing his fresh cuts from earlier. The teen's house wasn't a mansion or anything but it was fairly larger than some of the other buildings around here; Nick's parents were most likely considered upper middle class and they bought him quite a few stuff...when they were home anyways. The boy wasn't entirely sure where they were now as all his mom and dad told him were that they were going somewhere for a while and that he had to take care of himself while they were gone. The brunet never did have the closest relationship with the folks.

After he was properly cleaned up, Nick made his way down stairs and plopped down on the couch next to his new guest. "So what do you do for fun then, Marianna? I have a playstation, board games, or we can just talk if you'd like. Get to know each other a little better."

What DID she do for fun? She was a bookworm and a daydreamer, and sometimes, when she could get away, she spent time just wandering and drinking in every beautiful thing that she saw.
"Well . . .talking and board games sound good. I like Scrabble."

"Scrabble, huh?" Nick scratched his chin as he made his way to a shelf filled with a bunch of board games until he pulled out exactly what he was looking for. "Ah, here it is! Come sit on the floor so we can play."

Once the game was taken out and placed on the ground, the brunet looked up at Marianna before he grabbed his letters from the bag. "So while we play do you mind if I get to know you a little bit better? I just want to ask a few questions, you can ask some too if you want. What's your favorite color?"

Marianna sat crosslegged on the floor. She absentmindedly made stacks of her Scrabble tiles. "My favorite color?. . . Blue, or silver, I guess. Why?"

"Just wondering." Nick shrugged as he made a simple three letter word to start off the game. "Mine is scarlet. Hm...well I am kind of curious about one little thing if you don't mind me getting a little personal: have you been like, uh, spanked before?"
