The Master and the Apprentice (for KinkyVelvet)

"Well.. I suppose I can give you some chores such as cooking, cleaning and all that. But don't you worry. You will learn how to read and write and get a proper formal education as well. That will be the main focus to start off with. We'll focus on your reading and writing first of all, then once you know how to do that, we can start thinking about teaching you spells and such." Master Arius said, nodding as she mentioned how she 'knew' magic.

"Well, I wouldn't say you know magic if all you do is involuntary and disastrous." Arius chuckled as he finished his tea.

"I'm not sure how you had it at home, but from now on, you will live with me, and I am quite strict. Becoming a Witch requires a lot of knowledge, training and discipline. I will ensure you get all of that." Master Arius said.

"I have some basic and general rules that I expect you to follow at all times." he said, before doing a light wave of his hand, where a scroll suddenly appeared in his hand. It was as if it burned in reverse. Turning from embers and ashes into a scroll.

And that very scroll, he handed over to her.
"Take a read through them. You should familiarize yourself with them as soon as possible, as starting now, breaking any of them will result in having to face the consequences for breaking them." Master Arius announced with a somewhat firm tone of voice.

The scroll read:

'Rules:

1. Practicing your magic is strictly forbidden without supervision. That includes the most basic of spells.
2. You will study hard and do your homework.
3. Bedtime is at 8PM every nights, and you are expected to get up at 6AM every day.
4. No backtalk.
5. You are to do as you are told at all times.
6. Entering the Forbidden Forest alone is not allowed.
7. Going out alone is not allowed.
8. Cursing is strictly forbidden.
9. When in public or around others, you are to refer to your master as 'Master' or 'Master Arius'.
10. Lying will not be tolerated.'

Lily nodded, she would be more than happy to be helpful. She was really looking forward to learning.

"Oh sure!" She exclaimed. "Yes, even in my house there were rules and consequences and all," the girl said casually. Until a few years ago when she was still a child and she made some disaster, there were consequences!

With some ceremony, Lily picked up the parchment to read. Her expression changed from point to point.

At the first point she frowned, thinking back to those unintentional disasters she did and hoped not to set Arius' panties on fire.

The second didn't cause her particular reactions, she was already looking forward to going to study.

The third worried her a little, she wasn't an early riser, but she could work on it.

For the fourth and fifth, she was used to obeying and not arguing.

She froze at six, feeling a sudden urge to find out what was in the Forbidden Forest.

Lily finished reading quickly, with no further problems.

"Can't I go out alone?" She asked cautiously. "How come?"
Then she was assailed by a terrible doubt. "If I break the rules will you kick me out of here?" She asked in alarm.
Not that she wanted to, but some could happen by mistake or distraction!

Master Arius made sure to take note of her expressions as she took a thorough read through the rules. She didn't seem upset by most of them, though some of them did cause a slight reaction on the girl's face. But to his pleasant surprise, there was no backlash or arguing. That was certainly a good sign. Hearing her question, he had to think about what to answer for a minute...

"No. Absolutely not. You may be in the area, as in around the house, but never so far away that you cannot see the house." Master Arius explained.

"The Forbidden Forest is forbidden for a reason. It's been the cause of many deaths, and many wanderers losing their minds. It's a magical forest, and has some dreadful magic cast over it. There are plenty of creatures in there... Some pleasant, but most are quite the opposite. It is certainly not recommended to go in there unless you know some for of magic protection spell for yourself. As I mentioned, many lose their minds. Wandering the forest under its spell until they either starve, or get eaten. So promise me to never enter the Forbidden Forest until I say you're ready, or with me, of course." Master Arius spoke with a firm tone of voice, making it absolutely clear that he was being dead serious.

He did raise an eyebrow as she asked whether she'd be kicked out if she breaks the rules, before immediately chuckling a little.
"Certainly not. I wouldn't have sent the King a letter about you becoming my apprentice if I didn't think you'd stay for many years to come. No, if you break the rules, you will face the consequences. The consequence of breaking a rule, forgetting a chore or general misbehavior will almost always be a thorough spanking. Understood?" Master Arius said, already showing his more strict side.

Lily was starting to feel much less willing to visit the Forbidden Forest.

When Arius told her that any infraction would cost her a spanking, she seemed perhaps too enthusiastic. "Ah thank goodness!" She exclaimed.
Then she blushed abruptly. "Not that... not that you think it's nonsense. But it's not..."
She let out a slow sigh.
"I know that kind of discipline. Only the idea of being sent home terrified me so much that it's a relief to know that I won't be kicked home if I overslept," she sighed.

Master Arius wasn't surprised that she as used to that kind of discipline. There were very few in this world who weren't, after all. It was by far the most common, especially among peasants and the lower classes, however, Lily did perhaps not quite realize that Arius would be perhaps a lot more severe and strict with his punishments than her parents were.

"There is nothing you can do that will lead to me kicking you out. However, I will warn you, my spankings and whippings will almost certainly be a level above what you got from your parents. So please, do your best to behave and follow the rules and instructions. I'm not eager to give you a demonstration any time soon." Arius said with a light smile on his face.

And he really did mean it... It wouldn't take much for him to resort to using a wooden spoon or hairbrush. Not to mention the heap of other implements, such as switches, his belt, straps.. Nettles for more severe cases. Of course he had harsher ones too, but he hoped he wouldn't ever have to use those on her.

Lily nodded vigorously.
"I assure you, I'm not anxious to try them on," she assured him.
She finished drinking her tea with a sigh, her curiosity a little morbid and a little frightened, prompted her to wonder what kind of severity Arius praised.
She certainly didn't want to find out on her skin but...
Maybe in the following days she would have peeked around a bit to see if the wizard was using the wooden spoon like her mother or the belt like the grumpy old neighbor they had had to endure for a winter...
Or maybe she had spells for spanking people too!
Needless to say, her mind, ignorant and peasant, was already imagining the strangest things.
She absolutely had to find out.
“I think I'd better arrange my things and… I don't know, can I cook dinner?” She offered herself.
“Or do you want me to show you what I know-” she froze, thinking back to the burning laundry. "Maybe not that".

Arius nodded at her reply. He had no doubts that she had gottens spanked by her parents as well, though, he was also fairly certain that they were nowhere near as firm as he would be.
Of course Arius would be stricter and firmer with her.
Lily was getting older. Almost out of her teenage years. Not to mention that she wouldn't be working at a farm, where the worst thing you could screw up was maybe letting a cow or sheep loose, or something of that sort.

No, this was far more serious. Magic. He would teach her magic that could destroy towns, kill hundreds, destruction beyond belief... But also heal, rebuild and do a lot of good, which is naturally what he was hoping she'd use it for in the future.
Though she would need to learn and master both kinds, and that meant a lot of training and discipline. It was certainly also important that she would listen and obey his every command. As quite frankly, it could be dangerous if she didn't.

"I'll show you to your room, then we can head to the training grounds and you can show me what you're able to do? If you'd like to cook dinner, you're more than welcome to." Arius smiled, before gesturing for her to get up.

"Follow me." He said, before walking off and up the stairs to the second floor. He opened the first door to the right, leading into what would be Lily's new bedroom.

"Here's your new room and home for many years to come. So make yourself at home." Arius smiled, showing her the room.

It had a single bed, along with some drawers, a single armless wooden chair in one of the corners, and a closet. It was certainly bigger than her room back at home.

Lily nodded, hurrying to get up.
"I hurry, so we can do both!" exclaimed, going to her room.
She really had few things to fix, but her curiosity drove her to open every drawer, every nook, even looked under the bed.
It seemed to her that there was a loose plank underneath.
But she didn't want to be found by Arius to dismantle his house, she would think about it later.
She also couldn't wait to show him her powers!
"I'm ready!" She exclaimed, after going downstairs, cracking her fingers.
At the same instant one of the logs in the fireplace crackled briskly, making her jump.
It wasn't her, right? It was a coincidence.
She was a little nervous about the subject.

 

I inserted a small trigger, maybe under the bed there could be a diary of an old Arius pupil with some strange spells. For example to multiply food or immediate cleaning. And in reality they are not real spells but a kind of evil joke of an old vengeful student that have very strange effects XD

Arius smiled and nodded. Lily did at least seem to like her new room judging by the first expression on her face.
The 37 year old waited for her downstairs, and luckily didn't have to wait long before the 17 year old came walking down the stairs, confidently cracking her fingers and saying that she was ready. He wasn't quite sure if she was, but he would soon find out.

"Alrighty, put your shoes on and lets head out." Arius said with a light smile as he had already put his shoes on.
Once Lily had too, he lead the way out of the house and down a forest path.
"Be careful of the nettles." he said as they walked down the path, as on each side of the path, there were a whole lot of nettles.

After about a minute of walking, they arrived at a relatively large open area. It was a huge rock as a base. As if they were standing on a mountain in the middle of the forest. It was a rough circular shape, along with 10 large stone pillars standing up around it.

There was nothing to set on fire here, at least.

"Here we are. The training grounds. It's a lot safer to practice here than in the forest where you risk lighting everything on fire." Arius said with a smile, before gesturing to the stone pillars.

"Those pillars signify where the magic shield goes. They're really just for show. But you can't cast any spells outside of this shield." Arius explained, before turning towards two of the pillars and aiming between them, before casting a fireball through the open gap between them; only to be stopped by an invisible magical wall.

"See? So don't be afraid to go all out. I'm here to supervise, anyway. Now, show me what you know." Arius said as he turned to her again and folded his arms.

Lily nodded and started trotting after Arius, excited.
She jumped, carefully avoiding the nettle bushes. She had gotten into it once, as a child, and it was anything but pleasant, she didn't want to repeat the experience.

Arriving at the designated area, she almost got under her with emotion, she finally could try to cast spells without fear of setting fire to the barn or worse.

There were two spells that had worked best for her, with related disasters. She would show the great wizard those. She picked up a flower, with attached roots, outside the circle and brought it inside, placing it in the center.
She then she focused and started trying to make it grow faster.
Indeed, the daisy, with some small imperfections and a little worn, doubled in size.

Lily had tried it at home about a year ago. She wanted to help her father with the pumpkin harvest and in fact she had succeeded, the pumpkins were huge. The problem was that the insects had also become huge, it had taken three months to eradicate an infestation of ants sized like mice.
She had struggled to sit down for a while at the time.

Lily looked at Arius, proud, taking a step back, then, feeling that strange tingle in her fingers that preceded an involuntary burst of magic, she tried to concentrate it in a fireball like the master just before, but her fireball was entirely unpredictable and shot upward, mostly sparking like a firework.
"I didn't mean to do that," panted Lily, blowing out a small flame at the hem of her skirt.
