It was the female that stopped him, tripping him with her staff. She pushed it down into his back gently, keeping him pinned to the ground.
Trix looked up at him and shook his head, finishing the looting of the first body. "Golk, come with me. Shina, teach that brat a lesson about messing with us and then get him out of here."
Shina nodded as the two males walked away. She removed her staff from his back and grabbed him by the back of the neck. "I know just how to deal with brats like you." she hissed.

"Tella'sho, verrnat." The boy hissed in response, trying to get a grip on her wrist, and failing. "That's my family you're destroying. Show some respect. You pig!"

She frowned and grabbed him by his ear, flipping him down onto the ground again, sitting on his back and forcing his pants down off his buttocks. "Whatch what you say, brat." She landed a harsh slap on his butt, landing a second slap with her opposite hand on the opposing cheek.

"Hey! OW! Get off, verrnat! Hey! Get off!" The boy pushed up off the ground, trying to lift himself and get free of the predicament, but the fox-woman's weight was in the right place to deny him that motion. Instead, the young wolf swam helplessly beneath her, kicking up a leg when she landed that second smack, and giving a sharp whine. "What are you doing?! I'm not a child! Get off me! Please!" he insisted plaintively, suddenly realizing just how completely he was at her mercy.

Shina frowned and ignored his pleas. "You acted like a brat, so I shall treat you like one." She slapped his bottom, nice and hard, making his cheeks jiggle, making it go at a rapid pace now. "You're lucky Tix didn't stick you against a tree right then and there, boy."

"It'd be a man's death! OW! OWWW! What -- no! Stoop! I didn't do anything wron-owww!"
Since kicking against hard dirt and rock only made the pain worse, the boy soon stopped struggling, but that left him with nothing to do but yelp in pain. "Cut it! Cut it oouuuut!" he sniffled, unable to keep from drumming his feet against the cold earth. "Why are yoouu! Nnooo! Stop! Stooooop! I-- I won't do it again, fine!" the boy's voice cracked. "You just take everyone, and kill our families, and get angry at me when I want to bury my dead cousin! F-fine! Just- Just--"
But whatever it was, the little wolf's anger finally gave way to grief, and struggling with each shuddery breath, desperate to save face but unable to, he started to cry.

She frowned and stopped, grabbing his head for a moment. "Let's get something straight, brat. We're mercenaries. We do what we're paid to do, nothing more. We did not fight or kill. Our employer did. He specifically said we were to take what was left and bring it to him in exchange for gold. When we're done, feel free to do with the bodies what you want." She slammed her palm against his butt again.

"Nnnn! No! You can't! S-stop! Stop spanking me! Stooop! I'll be goooood!" the boy wailed, crying harder, now. "Its his! You can't take iiit!" hiccuping, tears now fully flowing, it didn't look like the little wolf could really do anything about it no matter what he said, but he was still being loyal to home, at least. Who could blame him?

She stopped and dusted her hands off. "Now listen, boy. I'm going tostop now, and I'm going to let you up. You will not bother us again and you will let us finish our job. Then, you may do as you wish with the bodies."

"I--"
The boy decided not answering would be better, he curled up as best as he could in his own arms, hiding his face from the world, when all the sound and all the shadows filling the evening suddenly stopped. There was a bright point of light, and a shimmering, like a spider's web, suddenly covering the town in the distance. The wolf-child raised his head, and saw it, his eyes widening.
It was the last picture of his village he'd ever see.
The CNB - contained nuclear blast - was kept from being a danger to those around it. Only those within the silk-like containment field - only the village - was touched. A roar of sound exploded when the air couldn't keep silent anymore, but that was the only sound at all.... the village was gone. There was nothing there - a giant ring of black ash surrounding a shallow pit of barren soil. No residue, no radiation, no more death... but there was nothing left where his town, his life, had been.
The boy rose to shaky feet, looking down on the town, and then suddenly fell to his knees again. He'd already lost alot: he'd lost his parents, he'd lost his friends.... his uncle, his aunt, and his cousin Jean had been all he'd had left.... and now they were gone, too. The boy's eyes searched desperately for something to latch onto, and the only thing around was this angry woman. He looked at her piteously, and then turned his head away.
There was nothing left, and he didn't know what he could do.
