Amir handed her the switch he had cut with a heavy heart. His mother wasn't the kind of woman to do anything half heartedly, but he could tell that she was especially angry with him this time.

When she warned him not to beg, he felt his mind starting whirr for excuses that he could perhaps use to lessen, or even get out of, his punishment. He came up with nothing. Cunning though he was, his mother was standing firm and when she commanded him to bend over her leg, he knew that his time was up.

It would only be worse if he made her grab his ear again and drag him over.

The pickpocket bent over her leg, his breath hitched slightly as he did. He'd been in this position before, but not for a little while. Not that he'd been behaving himself, he had just made more of an effort to be sneaky about his mischief.

The woman watched him getting back into the house with the switch and she took it from him right away, before positioning herself and waiting for her child to assume the position that he knew very well.
But his commentary made her frown a bit more.

-You sound a bit too sassy and uncaring to me, kid...- she then said, in a warning tone -Maybe i'm not making my point vividly enough. Let's see if i can help you to understand exactly how deeply in trouble you are.- his mother added.
