Raichu saw the Rin beginning to glow into a Volt Tackle, but did not panic. At the last possible moment, Raichu stepped out of the way and used his tail to trip Rin and allow her to fall on her stomach. "Tsk. Tsk. Tsk." he said, shaking his head, "Losing your temper while training?" he asked, beginning to wave his paw in a familiar swatting motion, "That is unacceptable in this gym."

"What do you mean?" Lizzie asked, looking up at Surge.

Rin blinked. "What just happened? I felt so strong all of the sudden." She said.

"I had some trainees who wanted to experience how the vine whip felt." Surge told her. "They tought of it as some kind of motivation to be good."

"You lost your temper." Raichu replied, "And you went into a volt tackle. Was that your first time doing that?" he asked.

"I-I don't know about that." Lizzie replied shaking her head, "Even though I haven't gotten it, I think your hand will be more than enough for me in this gym."

"It was." Rin said an then smiled. "I am not in trouble, it was still a tackle."

"You can change your mind any time." Surge said. "Do you want a motivation spanking, or do you rather wait untill you earned one?"

Raichu shook his head, "I don't think so." he said simply. "I think that it's great that you were able to do Volt Tackle, but that does not excuse losing your temper while training." he said firmly, motioning to a bench at the other side of the floor, "Come with me." he instructed.

"Ehhh....I'm not sure." Lizzie said, a bit embarrassed, "I guess which ever you think works better?" she asked nervously.

"But....but......"Rin whimpered as Raichu let her towards the bench.

Surge shook his head. "I asked you." He pointed out. "Do you need or want some motivation before you start training or not?"

"No buts." Raichu said simply as he approached the bench, "There is more to battling than just moves. There has to be discipline." he said as je sat on the bench and pad his lap slowly.

"W-Well." Lizzie stammered, a bit unsure and embarrassed, "I guess some motivation wouldn't be bad."

"It's not fair, you wanted me to use a tackle and I did, even better then you asked." Rin whined.

Surge sat down on a garden bench. "Okay then, over my lap my trainee." He said.

"No." Raichu shook his head, patting his lap a bit more firmly, "I asked you to use tackle, and you lost your temper. You may have done an impressive volt tackle, but it is not what I asked for." he said, "Tackle and Volt tackle are two different things. That's why you're being punished, you lost your temper and did not do what I asked."

Lizzie quivered as Surge sat down, even sitting the gym leader was still very tall and intimidating. With some hesitation, she did as she was told and approached Surge, pausing for a moment before crawling across his lap.

"But that is all YOUR fault!" Rin shouted as she started to cry. "You where being so mean all the time. EVERYONE would loose her temper!"

"Since this is just for motivation and your first time, I won't bare your bottom." Surge said as she guided her in the most comfortable position possible.
