I don't think hinting to your signifigant other is going to work. You will have to either ask directly, or, a fantasy of mine is to lose some sort of spanking bet. Get them riled up about something they are passionate about, and then say "You're wrong. Wanna bet ? The loser gets spanked ." Well, it might work.

Ditto on the anime convention. When I walked around with my Yaoi paddle, I had about four people come up and ask for swats. It wasn't weird at all to anyone, and we all got some pretty interesting photos from it.

Other than that, just get into a relationship with someone you trust. "Yuri" is the more explicit term used for girl X girl action in anime. Usually reserved for sex, while "Shoujo-ai" is usually used for kissing or light and fluffy stuff.

As for the paddles, they are just small canoe paddles with the words "Yaoi, Yuri, Seme, or Uke" on them. They usually have a Hardcore side and a Softcore side. This just refers to how much you love Yaoi or Yuri, or the Seme or Uke aspect of anime. It all boils down to how hard you want to be spanked.

FYI, "Seme" usually refers to the Dominant or Top in a relationship, while "Uke" refers to the Submissive, or Bottom.

The paddles can be found online and at anime conventions, and usually sell for around $40.
