The blonde boy was tempted to turn round and spit at the man, telling him to suck it. But he wanted to survive the night...so maybe this was the way to go. "Fine, but you gotta leave me alone. You're mean." Gambit pointed out and then decided he would go with the man, "...Fanks..." he said softly and shivered again. The kid could really use a good bath.

Logan gave slight snort of recognition to the mild insult, letting it roll off him in favour for a more pressing issue "How about this: I'll stick to my side of the hall if you just do me a favour and take a bath," with such sensitive senses, it was taking much of his self-control not to balk at the strong odour of sweat and grime coming off the little lad "You reek of week old cigars; you been sleeping under a bar or something?"

"Yeah I have." Gambit answered sort of sadly but he shook his head, like any eight year old boy, he hated baths and didn't plan on getting one. "I aint getting a baff, screw that." he snapped and then folded his arms across his chest. "Are we gonna go, or what?" he was freezing his butt off, the snow getting deeper and deeper, Gambit just wanted to get inside a warm house.

Logan felt a brow raising more at the kid's language than the temper and, slightly purposefully, waited a second before motioning him along down the snow laden side-walk
"By the way bub; watch your mouth." he told him after crossing a patch of black ice "I heard enough of that from the soldiers on the lines; I don't need it from a half-pint fresh outta he field."

"Or what?" The kid challenged, having not needed to show someone respect in so long now. And he felt like challenging the man. "What're you gonna do, bore me to deaf?" he asked, having had a little lisp problem due to his age. He followed Logan down the side walk and then looked up as they neared a house. "You gots food?" he asked, walking up to the door. Little did he know, Logan also had a wife, inside the house.

Strike two, Logan was silently counting; any more lip from this kid and he swore that he'd reach the end of his wick. But still, he gave the boy a curt "Mm-hm." for a response before pushing the door open and stepping inside.

"You dont say an awful lot, do ya?" Gambit asked, making his way inside the home, kicking off his shoes so they bounced snow all over the floor and then he high tailed it to the kitchen, starting to raid the fridge for any source of food he could find. He was just so hungry! And no way was he getting a bath! Even if he did reek to high heavens.

"I can think of a few choice words," Logan quietly growled as he watched the kid's display upon entering his apartment. The mutant wasted no time in stalking after him, pulling him away from the open fridge via a tight grip to his wrist "And for the record; people usually ask before they go raiding other people's fridges, or atleast tell 'em their names." he didn't spare anything in the glower that he was currently offering for the boy's trouble.

"Yeah well this is my home for tonight or however long the snow lasts...I can eat what I want!" Gambit snapped, trying to get his arm out of the man's grip. "Lemme go!" he frowned and shook his head, "I'm not telling you my name!" he didn't think the man needed to know it, so he kept it to himself.

"You can ask to have what you want," Logan sternly reprimanded, reaching out purely on instinct to land a firm smack to his backside; he hadn't totally registered what he'd done until it had passed, but he in no way allowed his features to show such. Instead, he continued to glare down at the boy "And if you wanna stay here kid, believe me; you will."
