Kalyn felt surprise of her own accord, though she reacted no where near in the same manner that Marcus had. She herself had went days without eating, though, that was only ever when jobs didn't turn out.. decently. Once again, she had to force herself to refrain from chuckling, the girls reaction had indeed been something. But it wasn't like she was oblivious, it was important for a child, of any race, to eat, even metahumans. Though, if she was being honest - which would be a surprise, she would.. recommend, that she maintains her diet. Later, that was. Kalyn eyed over the orc for a second time, then back towards the girl, "Marcus 'as a point.. Once we're done here, I'll come and get you.". Even with the elven charm, Kalyn didn't want the child getting any bright ideas, such as going and trying jobs on her own.

"Okay...", Aisling said, sighting in defeat. "But if you won´t mind I´d rather take a bath instead of watching trideo. Don´t know when I´ll be able to do it next time.", the Little elf asked. Marcus nodded in agreement. "Alright, just make it quick. Warm water is expensive.", he said and gave Aisling a Little pat on the bottom as she ran off quickly. Apparently Aisling hadn´t noticed, but it was a sign that Marcus really liked her, alltough he seemed very gruff on the outside.
"Alright, now that we have some privacy, let´s discuss your possible employers.", the orc said in a serious business tone.

Kalyn watching as Aisling requested the use of Marcus' bath rather than wanting to watch trideo. It surprised her more or less, she was under the assumption that children naturally liked such things.. but then, she couldn't blame her. It'd been so long since Kalyn wasn't bathing in cold or dirtier-than-her water. In any case, Aisling having left, the woman returned to face Marcus once more. It was blatant that he felt some manner of responsibility for the girl, and it was understandable. She had seemed rather cute, if that word was even available in a runners vocabulary. "You mentioned several?" Freefall's own tone carried the same seriousness, it wasn't a laughing matter after all, what with all the nuyen to be made.

"Yes, alltough if you want to take Aisling with you I suggest you take an easy one. The pay won´t be as good of course, but it´ll pay the rent and who knows, if you do well there might be a Bonus and better Jobs in the future.", Marcus explained calmly while Aisling scrubbed herself clean upstairs. For a street kid she did pay a lot of attention to hygiene. "If you want I can make an appointment with Mr Smith in two hours. The guy said he needs an experienced runner or a small Team for a simple burglary. He also wanted requested a Meeting in the Lucky Star Hotel. Is that okay for you?"

"Well, I did say that I'd discuss it with her. Yeah, that's fine, thanks Marcus." Kalyn scanned over the rest of the pub for a second or so, inevitably returning her eyes towards the orc. "What can you tell me? About Aisling that is." The human spoke in a hushed tone, one had to be discrete when requesting information. Lest you'd wanted to run the risk of someone selling, or giving away, that information on your behalf. Kalyn had plopped herself down on one of the several bar stools, though, it was a few seats between several other runners. Only one or two had someone with them.

"You´re welcome. Mr Smith will give you further information at room 237 of the Lucky Star Hotel.", Marcus said, satisfied with how quickly Kalyn had accepted the job. He was a guy who liked to get to the Point. "Well, nothing much. She just showed up on my doorstep one day. A little girl with a cybernetic arm. It was hard not to pity her. Listening to street Kids pays of every now and then... and Aisling is special. She knows how to get People´s trust. If she has a fault then it is that she can be a little too cheeky at times. But I know a way how to fix that.", the orc said smirking slightly.

"Got it." Kalyn said simply, her eyes wandered for yet another moment but shot back in an instant. She was just slightly surprised, Marcus was one of the few orcs she has met that seem to not be reliant on brute strength, something that just about all of them had. But then, Kalyn had only really been in contact with those that shared her occupation, it didn't leave a lot of room for anything else but acting tough. "Judging by the way she reacted earlier.. Yeah, I think I've got it." Kalyn gave a smirk of her own, but she really was worried. She didn't know the first thing about children. Other than that they, like Marcus had mentioned, did have reliable information on occasion.

"You look a bit worried. Do you think you won´t be able to handle her? If you think she shows any sign of getting out of control, don´t hesitate to turn her over your lap and give her a couple of swats. She´ll understand.", the Orc recommended. "You better go upstairs and talk to her now. Oh... and don´t touch any of my stuff. Some of it was rather expensive. Don´t think I won´t notice!", her fixer told Kalyn and continued to clean classes until one of his customers demanded whiskey. A slight smile showed on the orcs face, he certainly seemed busy now, which was good for business.

(I think I know how we could add a little spanking scene before they go meet Mr. Smith...)

Kalyn was mentally kicking herself. She had done the worst things imaginable, she's stolen, beaten, murdered, all in the name for a few thousand nuyen. But then there she was, the thought of taking Aisling as her charge, even if it was only for one job, seemed impossible. Even so, she was quite adament about nodding, more so in a gesture of thanks than agreement. At any rate, she'd have to be on guard, Aisling slipping up could mean life or death in a certain situation. Without further adieu, Kalyn stood and started towards the stairs, it was surprising to her that Marcus was so open, so okay, with Kalyn being 'alone' in his home. Though, she had enough honor not to steal from her best fixer. Her fingers flicked across a small wall panel, the door, a steady metal, slid open...

As the door slid open Kalyn could see Aisling only wrapped in a towel. The trideo was turned on but the little elf didn´t pay any attention to the talk show that was being prodcasted. Instead she had turned her attention towards the rather extensive collection of memorabilia that Marcus kept in his flat. He didn´t dress the part but the fixer was actually a rather big fan of the Orxploitation movement, that sought to bring awareness to metahuman social issues with it´s sometimes shocking Rock and Hip-Hop bands. Aisling was Holding a Trucker hat, signed by a particulary famous newcomer. It probably was worth quite a bit on the black market. As Kalyn entered she hid it behind her back - quickly, but not quite quick enought. "Oh hi... I am afraid I am not quite ready yet...", the little girl said embarrased.
