Ok, so I went to Oak Outpost, talked to everyone. Some of them answer my "question" about a dagger, which I didn't ask...completely random. Will someone kindly give me a walkthrough? I don't know what to do.

In the starting city, make sure to visit the Blacksmith and pick up the errand to deliver that dagger to the Southern town.
That opens up the door to the elfs house down there.... which allows you to jump into the pit (where kids are).

I don't get it. I went to the Blacksmith in Red Valley to get the assignment, but didn't receive a dagger.
EDIT: Ok nevermind, I found the Blacksmith. I mistook that for the Guard's office. I spoke to the elf, but still can't jump into the holes.

You need to win the Elf girl's trust by A) breaking her vase and offering to let her spank you and then taking the spanking or B) spanking the kid you catch outside who was about to throw rocks at her house with his buddy or C) Bringing the kid inside and letting him apologize to her so SHE can spank him. You then have to ask her about the dagger. Only then can you go down one of the two holes near where the kids are. You will be in a maze and when you get to the other side you will find the person who wanted the knife. You get money and you can climb up the ladder to the surface. You should then go to the Guard in the original town and let her know (by talking) about the dagger. This particular series of events sets many other events in motion. I do not recommend going to sleep just yet but rather continue to explore, until you find the mysterious man near the inn in the desert town who wants a particular book. Hope this helps.

With the mod, why are a lot of the events not working? The game will freeze if some one is walking up stairs or out of a door that isn't a character.

Thank you, that was helpful. FYI, the guy who wanted the book was in Red Valley, not the desert town (Coral Beach I think it was called?)

Depends which version your playing. Mod version he is desert town.
