For as much as Zelda certainly wanted to be different, she bore the same crest, crown and attacks as her ancestors, so hell if Samus was going to bother learning the difference. She barely bothered learning who was who between the Belmonts. Although…

It was good to get a little perspective, even if Samus wouldn’t admit that. “...” She looked off. Not much she could say in this position. As someone who lost her family, her friends - her whole planet - she knew what it was like to lose. So with another sigh, she clutched her forehead and took a deep breath. “It doesn’t.” She was quick to brush Sheik off - though she’d pause, and wonder on it for a minute. “...or at least I don’t want it to mean anything.”

“...” A moment of realization was dawning on Samus. She felt her brow crease. “If she’ll turn up to another training session…” Samus hesitated to mutter. “I’ll… say something then…”

Shiek wasn’t sure how much she should console the girl. If she knew how much pain Samus went through, she might not have freaked out on her earlier, but Zelda still thought she was just some bully. Her hand hovered over the girl’s back before she gently sighed finally mustering up the courage to pat her back “If you ask for forgiveness, you will give it to you” she said with a soft smile and a kind tone. “She doesn’t want to burn these bridges, she just feels like you don’t care about her” she tried to explain.

“Samus, I’ll relay the message, but promise me one thing. During this training session, you will not spank her no matter what happens. She needs to look at you as a friend and a mentor and if you keep beating her, you cannot start anew. She needs to trust you and pain will only drive her away”
