The boy growled behind his muzzle, his eyes darting to each of the Jedi in turn as if he expected an attack.

"Well regardless, we cannot leave him here." Gavin said. "Who knows what Czerka will do with him? Or worse, what if he manages to escape into a populated area?"

Viras looked at the caged boy, sadly. "I do wish we could just get him out of those chains. Nobody should be shackled in them.... Alright, we must speak with these... Scientists right away." He said, with conflicting emotions, as the three of them headed back for the main office.

Gavin reached for the boy, only for him to visibly flinch and move away.

"Millie, I want you to stand at the door and keep watch. Don't let them take the boy anywhere until we are ready to leave." He told her.

And so, Viras and Gavin went over to the control center, and spoke to the head scientist. "We are taking the boy with us." Viras told her, "The Jedi Order has a right of supervising all force-sensitive people, and he is exactly that."

(So maybe Millie can attempt to free him, which gets her into trouble?)

Meanwhile a guard approached with food in a dog dish, opening the hatch on the door and sliding it towards the boy, but it remained just out of reach.

Viras tensed up. "You do realize that slavery is a serious crime, don't you? If you insist on keeping him as property, I will be forced to report you to higher authorities." He told her, very sternly.

Millie was shocked. "You aren't going to remove his muzzle? How is he supposed to eat if you don't?" She asked the guard, incredulous at his apparent lack of wit.

"The Republic doesn't exist out here." Alias replied calmly. "And besides, as a Sith it is a wanted criminal."

"It bit me the other day." The guard replied. "It can just sit and think about how hungry it is for a few days." He pressed his key back into the lock as he left, but then a buzzing sound interrupted him. He pulled a comlink from his pocket and held it to his ear. "Yeah? What? Again? Dammit, alright I'll be there."

Placing the comlink back in his pocket the man quickly left the room, accidentally leaving his key in the lock.

Viras finally decided to pull out all the stops. He stared at her intensely, minds linking, and decided to use a mind trick on her...
"The boy will be released." He said, in a stunningly neutral voice.

Millie decided to act. It was inhumane to starve the poor boy, with food barely out of reach! She opened the door, and approached him with caution. "I mean no harm." She told him softly. "I just want to take that off your head so you can eat, alright?" And, with utmost care, she reached the back of his head and undid the closing mechanism.

Gavin reached out to stop him. No. He sent him through The Force. We do not use The Force to get our way.

He looked to Alias. "Alright, name your price. I'm sure the Order will pay it."

The boy looked up as Millie approached, snarling at her at first. But as she approached slowly, hands at her sides with her palms facing him to show she was not going to harm him, he relaxed a bit. When she mentioned removing his muzzle he nodded slowly, letting her get close to him to unlock it. Up close she could see and smell that he was quite dirty, in some places his fur was even matted with dried blood and filth.

The muzzle dropped to the floor of the cell with a loud CLANG!, and she finally got a good look at his face. His cat-like features stood out, yet his eyes suggested intelligence. He did not speak, instead craning his neck to work out the kinks caused by the heavy mask before sitting on his haunches like a feline, staring at the food that was still out of his reach.

Viras conceded. He had let his temper get to him.

Millie picked up the bowl and brought it up where he could reach it. "You must be very hungry... Here, eat this. Please, it will make you feel better." Despite how dirty Ralis was, she felt absolutely no revulsion towards him, rather towards the people who had been treating him worse than cattle. She therefore looked at him with a compassionate, humane gaze to ease his nerves.
