Martin was usually able to control himself better but he was still under the influence and he was thinking that he was being treated unjustly so that made him predisposed to hysterics right now even if it wasnt very manly or tough of him. His carrying on really freaked Kyler out though and it made the black kitsune think that what was going on was a lot worse than it actually was so he was pretty scared when it was his turn and he was called over. He got up and walked over to Fury without a fuss, removing his shirt and holding his arms up to be chained as Fury directed him to do so and one of his ears flicked towards the teen when Fury offered his soft praise but Kyler really wasn't in any state to be happy about the words now so he didn't react to them. He did hear them though and might be happy that Fury was pleased with how he behaved later once he recovered. Then he just gripped the chains and waited for the whipping to be over, managing to take it more or less stoically at first and actually taking the whole thing a hell of a lot better than the guard had but he still ended up screaming by the end as some of his wounds started to draw just the barest hint of blood in places where they overlapped with other marks from the whip. He slumped in his chains when Fury paused and whimpered softly as he hoped that it was done, not looking at Fury when the prince looked to the king for permission to end but he did let out a relieved breath when he felt his master removing the chains from his cuffs. He sort of fell against Fury as he was let down, needing the teen to help him back to the room even though he tried to walk back he was in a lot of pain so that was hard. When they got to Fury's room Kyler let out another soft whimper of pain as he was laid out on the bed and Fury tended to his wounds, that hurting even though the teen was being gentle with him. His ears were still pinned miserably to his head when Fury was finished cleaning him up and his eyes flicked up to the teen when Fury kissed his forehead, that confusing him a little bit after the harsh punishment he just received but he liked it anyway. When Fury asked if he was okay it would have been easy to get an attitude wit him but with the condition that Kyler currently was in he just wasn't up for that so he just whined then nodded, "Yes, Master" he said softly, since he knew what Fury meant and he was as okay as he could be in this situation so he was trying to put the teens mind at ease on that one. "I'm sorry...this is all my fault. I didn't know that would happen, I swear" he added, tears welling up in his eyes as he spoke and he started letting out those high pitched, miserable little whines with each exhale as he spoke and after he finished while he was waiting for Fury to answer. He was still blaming himself for everything that had happened since he was thinking that if he had just obeyed his master then it wouldn't have happened in the first place. though most of that was just his mind trying to rationalize the punishment he got and trying to make it so that he actually deserved to receive it since it was just easier for him if he actually deserved the punishment he'd received even if he really hadn't done anything bad enough to earn it. After that he just laid there looking at Fury as a few new tears slid down his face to join the many others that he had shed during his punishment, though now it was an emotional pain making him cry not a physical one.

Normally Fury would have relished something like this given that he had a definite sadistic streak as Kyler had found out early on in their relationship however since he didn't feel that what his pet had done was anywhere near bad enough to warrant such a punishment he got no satisfaction from it. He simply did it because he knew that if he didn't then his father would take over and that would have been infinitely worse for Kyler, as Fury knew first hand. So even though he was loathe to do so he chained his pet to the wall and proceeded to whip him thoroughly though he did at least try to avoid causing any real damage. That wasn't entirely possible though and by the end of it a few of the lashes were bleeding, Fury knowing that he was going to have to treat those as soon as he could to prevent infection as well as to attempt to ease the pain. So he looked to his father for permission to leave and when Samael waved his hand dismissively Fury unchained Kyler and then all but carried him back to their suite where he set about tending to his wounds. He could tell that he was causing him pain but there was nothing that he could do about that, the silver fox being as gentle as he could, so he just ignored the sounds his pet was making and finished dressing the wounds before leaning down and placing a kiss on Kyler's forehead. He asked the older male if he was okay and he nodded his head when Kyler said that he was even though he knew that wasn't the case. When Kyler went on to say that he was sorry and that he didn't know that would happen Fury sighed softly and sat on the bed, gently gathering his pet in his arms so that Kyler was partially laying on him. "I know you didn't know it would happen and I'm not angry with you anymore, you've more than been punished enough. I just hope next time I give you a specific order you'll trust that I have a reason for it," Fury told him, trailing his fingers through Kyler's dark hair as he said that. He used his fingers to gently wipe away the tears, his ears back and his tail moving to curl around his pet carefully. He wanted to offer more comfort than this but he knew from experience that there was nothing that was going to really make it better though he did intend to go and get some herbs for the pain once he had managed to get Kyler to calm down a bit more. For the moment he thought that it was best that he not leave his pet since he was bound to be affected by what had happened, that much the silver fox was certain of. So he was going to stick close for a little while and then go and see the physician about something for the pain that Kyler was currently being forced to deal with. "I'll get you something for the pain soon," he said, this being something that he wuoldn't usually do after a punishment but even Fury thought that this was completely unjust.

Kyler didn't think that what he'd done was bad enough to get a whipping for it either, but he knew better than to question Fury when the teen gave him an order and he was thinking that the same was twice as true for Samael. So even though he didn't think that he deserved it he went over to Fury to receive the punishment that the king had decided for him and ended up in a pretty bad state by the end of it but it wasn't as bad as the whipping he received for trying to run away so he was at least the smallest bit grateful for that. He fell against Fury when the teen got him out of the chains and then let himself be put on Fury's bed and tended to though he couldn't keep his cries of pain from escaping despite his best intentions to do so. He was fairly miserable at that point and he was trying to justify what had happened to him as being deserved so that ti was easier to bear and therefore was thinking that this had been for disobeying Fury and for letting himself get attacked by the guard even though the latter was not his fault he was still blaming himself for it at that point. He looked at the teen as Fury asked him if he was okay and answered with a 'yes master' even though he was far from okay and then he went on to apologize and say he hadn't known this would happen. What he meant by that was that he hadn't known he'd get attacked if he went down that hall and he was feeling as if somehow he'd betrayed fury or something by letting Martin touch him even though that was an irrational thought it was how he was thinking in that moment. He whimpered when Fury gathered him into his arms, since moving hurt but once he was in the teens arms he was happy that Fury had done it and he rested his head on Fury's chest, tears still streaming down his face and ears still pinned though he was at least crying silently. He looked up at Fury when the teen spoke to him and a small part of him was pleased that Fury wasn't angry with him but the second part that the teen said got a whimper out of Kyler since that felt like a scolding and he didn't want to be scolded right now. "Yes Master" He whispered, not sure if Fury wanted a response to that or not but he gave one just in case. Then he just lay still as Fury wiped his tears away and held him, the elder kitsune having no intention of moving anytime soon and he really did feel comforted by Fury holding him even though it had been the teens hand that wielded the lash earlier he knew that it had been Samaels decision not Fury's so he wasn't harboring any resentment towards the teen for it and he was too scared of Samael to resent him. After a little while his tears slowed and he nodded when Fury said that he woudl get him something for the pain, surprised by that announcement but grateful anyway. "Thank you, Master" He said softly, real gratitude in his voice as he snuggled up against the teen and slowly calmed down the rest of the way, one hand gripping Fury's shirt as he lay on the teens chest though that was a subconscious gesture on his part and after about ten minutes he finally calmed down enough that Fury could leave without him having a breakdown but he would still be fearful to be left alone right now with the condition that he was in.

Fury was actually annoyed with the way that this had gone since he felt that it should have been up to him how things with his pet were handled but he couldn't go against his father, he already knew very well how that would turn out, so he was forced to whip Kyler in the same manner that he had the guard that had actually been in the wrong. Once it was over Fury half carried his pet back to his room and carefully went about treating the older kitsune's wounds, knowing that there was no way for him to do that without causing his pet some measure of pain though he did try to minimize that as much as he could. Fury asked if his pet was okay and nodded at the answer he got though of course he knew that he wasn't okay, the silver fox's ears flicking forward when Kyler said that he was sorry and that he hadn't known this would happen. Fury said that he knew that and he ended up gathering his pet up into his arms and moving them so that Kyler was half laying on him while Fury attempted to soothe him. This was somewhat out of character for Fury but he wasn't heartless no matter how much he might try to act as though he was and he didn't think that Kyler's behavior had warranted this so he was predisposed to being more coddling than was typical for him. "I couldn't protect you," he said in a voice that was barely audible, these being words that he would seldom even dream of saying but he felt that it was his job to protect his pet and in this instance he hadn't been able to and that actually bothered him. This was as close to an apology as the older kitsune was likely to get and Fury did sound as though he were regretful and guilty about that but there hadn't been anything he could do. He went on to say that he would get him something for the pain after sort of scolding Kyler about listening when he told him not to do something and he nodded his head when Kyler thanked him. After that he just held his pet until he calmed down a bit more and once he thought that Kyler could deal with him leaving the teen carefully slid from beneath him, getting his pet as comfortable as he could and then leaving the room to go and find something for him to take. And the great thing about that was that he could get the stronger stuff since it wasn't for him, the prince acquiring what he needed and then making his way back to his suite. "I need you to take this," he said quietly as he placed a cup to his pet's lips after helping him to sit up a tiny bit so that he wouldn't choke. "It won't taste good but it'll help," he added as a bit of a forewarning.

Kyler would have much preferred to face Fury's wrath for his decision to disobey the teen than Samael, and right now he was dramatically thinking that he was never leaving the safety of Fury's side again since it just wasn't worth it. He would just spend the rest of his live right next to Fury or hiding in the teens rooms since no one ever dared to come there uninvited. That way he could avoid the guards and the King. Of course that was not something that was likely to last long since he enjoyed being outside and he loved the library so he would want to go tot hose places and that didnt' necessarily mean that it was something that Fury would want to do or have time to do so Kyler would have to go on his own. For now he was in too much pain to think of anything aside from how sorry he was that eh had disobeyed his master and the fate that ended up coming from it. He lay still as Fury treated his wounds and gathered him into the teens arm, immediately snuggling against his master even though he realized this was oddly coddling behavior from Fury he still appreciated it and needed that reassurance now. He looked up at Fury when the teen softly said that he couldn't protect him and that got a slight whine out of him before he nodded slightly, "I know, it wasn't you're fault" he said back just as softly, pretty much accepting Fury's version of an apology and telling the teen that he didn't hold a grudge for it in the process. After that he just lay with Fury until he calmed down then whined again when the teen moved away from him though that was more because he was upset that the teen was leaving than because it hurt to move. HE lay quietly while Fury was gone and when the teen returned he didn't put up a fuss as he was liftend a bit and Fury put the cup to his lips, telling him to drink it and he curled his nose at the bitter scent of the stuff, not needing Fury's warning to know that was going to be nasty stuff but he obediently opened his mouth and let Fury give him the medication. When it was done he made a face again and shuddered at the taste, waiting for Fury to settle down again before scooting closer to him. "Ugh, that stuff is almost worse than dealing with the pain" he said, which was his attempt at a sort of morbid joke and he just lay his head down on Fury again, enjoying the closeness as his eyes started to sag in reaction to the meds he'd been given. The next few days Kyler needed Fury to help him out but he was up and moving again two days after his punishment since it hadn't been close to as bad as Fury's had been and the slight spots that had started to bleed had already scabbed over enough for him to move without injuring it. He was skittish though and he stuck close to Fury as if glued to the young prince while the teen was in the room and anxiously lay on the bed waiting for Fury to return when the price had to leave him. He didn't know why he was so anxious all of a sudden but he was and he needed an outlet for it, like his paintings but he didn't want to ask Fury for stuff for that since he still felt as if he were bad and didn't deserve Fury to give him anything so he didn't want to ask. Instead he just tried is best not to be annoying while at the same time sticking to Fury and getting visibly upset whenever someone mentioned the King though he tried to hide that.

It was really just not normal for Fury to be acting in such a manner but he felt bad for Kyler after what had happened and that was likely intensified by the fact that he'd been in the same position only a few weeks ago and still vividly remembered both what it had felt like as well as how much that Kyler had taken care of him. So now he was sort of returning the favor with his pet, Fury holding him and gently stroking his hair while he waited for the other kitsune to calm down after what had been a harsh punishment though admittedly not the harshest that he had ever suffered. Fury's ears flicked forward when Kyler said that it wasn't his fault since that was something that he'd been wondering about, whether or not he would hold a grudge since Fury had been the one to administer the punishment. That was answered for him and after that he just lay with Kyler until he'd calmed down a bit and then he extricated himself from beneath his pet to go and get something to help with the pain, hearing the whine that elicited from the older kitsune but more or less ignoring it since he knew that Kyler needed the pain meds. It didn't take him long to return and once he did he helped Kyler to sit up a bit and held the cup to his lips, coaxing him to drink and yet warning him that it wasn't going to be good at the same time and he chuckled when Kyler drank the stuff and said that it was almost worse than dealing with the pain. "Key word there being 'almost'," Fury said as he placed the cup aside and then just resumed holding his pet and attempting to soothe him as best he could. For the next few days Fury remained close and helped Kyler out when he needed it, the young prince continuing to treat his wounds and he was happy when they started to heal and Kyler could move around on his own without pain. He noticed of course that he was skittish and clingy now and that was something he wasn't happy about since he liked the outgoing version of his pet better. He didn't say anything about that however since Fury of course realized that it wasn't Kyler's fault that he was nervous now, anyone would be after what had happened. Still he was starting to get a little bit stir crazy now and he was pretty sure that Kyler must be feeling the same way, Fury sitting on the edge of the bed as he looked at his pet and asked, "Is there anything that you'd like to do?" Trying to prompt the older kitsune to tell him of something that he might like to do in order to pass the time.

Kyler wasn't going to question why Fury was suddenly being nice to him he was just glad that the teen was after the harsh punishment that he just received. He did realize that Fury had no choice though, and he was smart enough to know that if Fury had refused that meant that either the prince would have faced the same consequences for not doing as he was told or Samael would have taken it out on Kylers hide and he was grateful that Fury hadn't gone that route so he was quick to tell Fury he knew it wasn't his fault. Still he was in a pretty significant amount of pain so when the teen returned with the medicine he took it even though he really just didn't want to and he actually managed a weak smile when Fury made the 'almost' comment and nodded his head. "Yes, almost" He agreed then snuggled up against the teen and basically cuddled with Fury for the rest of the day and the days that followed. It didn't take him as long as Fury to recover though so he was up and moving in short order but he was also skittish and clingy and had he known it bothered Fury he would have made an attempt to stop but he didn't know so he couldn't do that. He was kneeling beside the teen, resting his head on Fury's leg a few days later when Fury asked him if there was something that he wanted to do and he thought about it for a few moments before making a suggestion, "We could go swimming again?" He said in a normal tone of voice since he wasn't the least bit afraid of Fury he wasn't acting skittish around him just when they left the room and there was a chance they could run into Samael or the guards. He'd enjoyed the last time they went swimming of course since it was the first time that the two of them kissed and were intimate so the place had good memories for them, but he wasn't sure if Fury would want to go out even though he was assuming that they were both going stir crazy at this point since Fury had stayed with him the last few days and they hadn't been outside. Which was becoming a bit of a pattern for them even though it really just wasn't something Kyler would have wanted to happen.

In all likelihood both of the outcomes that Kyler was thinking about would have came to pass if Fury had refused to administer the punishment as ordered by his father and then both of them would have been in really bad shape. So Fury hadn't felt that he had a choice though he did sort of pamper his pet after the punishment even though he wasn't prone to that and even though Kyler had managed to get himself into trouble. As far as the silver fox was concerned that crime had been more than paid for so he was going to let it go without another word. Fury held his pet for awhile before going to get pain meds and he got the strongest stuff that he could for Kyler, not having any trouble since no one had ever ordered meds to be withheld from anyone else, mainly because it was assumed that none would be offered to anyone else but Fury was using that loophole to his advantage. When he gave the medicine to Kyler and the older kitsune made his comment about it almost being worse than the pain Fury commented on that and nodded when Kyler agreed with him. After that the two of them just snuggled for the rest of the day and for the days that followed the crown prince remained with Kyler and just helped him when he needed it while they waited for his wounds to heal. And during this time he noticed that Kyler had became skittish and appeared nervous more often than not which sort of bothered him since he liked the outgoing and confident version of his pet better even if he didn't come out and say that. Instead he asked Kyler if there was something that he might like to do and when Kyler made the suggestion about going swimming he thought about that before nodding his head as he said, "We could do that, it would be nice to get out." Since they had been cooped up in this room for the past several days. Getting to his feet he held an arm out to Kyler, actually offering to take him by the hand and he would do it if the older kitsune took his outstretched hand. After that he lead the way out of the palace, actually taking a secret passageway from his room that led outside so that there was no chance they would run into anyone. This had been one of Fury's favorite ways of escaping when he was a child but he was using it now for a different reason. Once they were outside Fury lead the way to the spot where he and Kyler had gone swimming before, turning to him once they were there and asking, "Better?" He was thinking that it would be since this place was secluded and it was now just the two of them.

Kyler would not have been happy to learn that both those outcomes would have come to pass if Fury had refused to administer the punishment that the King had ordered, and it was a really good thing Fury didn't enlighten him since that just would not have helped with his growing fear of the teens father. For the moment he just tried to deal with the aftermath as best he could and he lay with Fury for the next couple days while he healed and then he started to kneel beside his master pretty much all the time once he was able to get up and move again. He was still feeling cooped up though and he perked up slightly when Fury asked him if he wanted to do something and then agreed to his suggestion, looking happy about something for the first time in a few days since they really had been cooped up for too long for his liking. When Fury held his hand out Kyler was a little surprised but he immediately took it and stood, letting himself be lead out of the room and down a secret passageway that he of course hadn't known existed and was actually pretty pleased that Fury trusted him enough to show it to him since it would be all too easy for him to use this passageway to escape had he still had any intention of doing that. He would't dream of it though, not now that he had fallen for his young maser so he just walked through the passage and out to the lake they'd swam in before and he relaxed on the walk over so he was looking like his normal self again by the time they got there. He looked over at Fury when the teen asked him if it was better and blushed a little at that, somewhat embarrassed about his behavior recently now that he knew that Fury had noticed and it had apparently bothered him enough to care if Kyler felt better. "Better" he agreed, smiling a little and leaning down to kiss Fury lightly on the lips just as a sign of affection not anything more. Then he stripped and climbed into the water, sighing at the cool water on his back since it eased any small discomfort that Kyler was still feeling and that was of course welcome right now. Plus it was a hot day so it was nice for that reason as well. He waited for Fury to join him then swam over and wrapped his arms around him, feeling in a strange mood now that they were alone again and away from the King's easy reach. "It would be nice if we could get away like this. Just the two of us for a while" He murmured, sort of hinting that he wanted to do that and looking into the teens single visible eye as he waited to see how Fury would respond. He wasn't sure if it was even possible but he knew that royals always had summer castles in a cooler part of their country and he was thinking that they could go there if Fury could get permission for a vacation. Though he wasn't sure if Fury would be willing to ask for that or if the king would be angry about it let alone actually grant it. So he waited to see what his master thought of the idea so he could decide if he should pursue it or not.

Fury was really glad when Kyler had healed enough that moving around no longer caused him a great deal of pain and since he was starting to get a bit stir crazy he asked his pet if there was anything that he'd like to do. He listened as Kyler proposed that the two of them go swimming and he agreed with that plan easily enough since he liked swimming and more importantly it would get them out of this room which was what he wanted more than anything right now. So he stood up and held his hand out to Kyler, taking his pet by the hand once the older kitsune reached for it and then just leading the way to a secret passage with no worries that Kyler would use that knowledge to try and run because he'd given his word that he wouldn't do it and Fury knew that was something that he took seriously. So he just lead the way through the passage and then once they were outside he made his way out to the lake where they had swam before. Seeing the way that Kyler relaxed made this worth it to Fury and once they got there he asked if it was better and nodded his head when Kyler agreed that it was, the crown prince stripping his clothes off after Kyler kissed him and moved to do the same thing. Fury jumped into the water rather than just wading in and when he resurfaced his hair was slicked back and it revealed the scar that was over his right eye, which he usually hid but wasn't really ashamed of. It was just not a habit of his to flaunt a weakness but since it was just Kyler he didn't see the need to keep his wet hair over his face this time around. Turning in Kyler's direction he watched as the older kitsune swam toward him and he held Kyler when his pet wrapped his arms around him, listening with his ears flicked forward as the dark fox said that it would be nice if they could get away, just the two of them. "Well, maybe we could, now that Father is home...but I'm not sure so I won't promise anything," Fury told him, which was his way of saying that he'd see but he wasn't going to make a promise that he couldn't keep since his word meant something to him and he did have honor even if he was sadistic and a cruel person at times.
