It was another lovely day in the Sinnoh region, and Canalave City was as busy as ever. Ships were coming in, people were moving about and getting ready for their various jobs, and the gym was open to all challengers who thought they could handle the Steel Gym Leader, Byron.

None of that was of any real concern to the current girl walking through the city however. She was an experienced trainer in her mid-teens, sporting bright red hair and emerald eyes. She was currently wearing a purple t-shirt, an orange skirt that went down to her thighs, and black leather boots and fingerless gloves, both sporting studs around the wrists and ankles. Completing her tough girl look, she also had a black leather vest. She paid no mind to anyone near her, most backing away due to the fierce look on her face.

She was far from worried about Byron too. She was a fire-type trainer, and one of the best. She gave a smirk as the gym grew bigger before her, but just as she was about to reach the front doors, they opened on their own and a boy came out and bumped into her, knocking her back. "Ah, hey!" she yelped, stumbling before catching herself and glaring at the newcomer. "Watch where you're going!" she said, frowning at him and giving a glare.

Aaron was on top of the world. In a little over a month, he'd beaten most of the Sinnoh Gym Leaders, fully evolved his starter: Emperor, taken down several Team Plasma goons, and even managed to reunite a small girl with her Pichu. To top it all off, his Emperor just cleaned house in the Canalave City Gym, beating Byron's entire team by himself.

Full of pride and energy, Aaron opened the doors to the gym and let the sun-rays hit his already tanned face. Aaron had black, down-spiked hair. Well, it wasn't actually black. It was just a really, really, dark shade of blue, but it was easier to just say it was black. He sported a hooded red and black vest, zipped all the way up with a white t-shirt underneath. He also wore gray cargo pants, and red running shoes. On his back was a bulky, but surprisingly light, white backpack. Aaron walked down the steps humming to himself, failing to notice the girl in front of him. Aaron stumbled back a few steps, looking over to her with a embarrased grin. "Um...whoops. My bad, didn't see ya there."

Rebecca continued frowning as she stared at the boy in front of her and crossed her arms. "I'm standing right in front of you, you know! You should've paid attention." she said back, before blinking as she noticed he'd left the gym. "W-Wait, you didn't just challenge Byron, did you?" she asked. This kid sure didn't look like anything special from what she saw. And with the stupid look on his face, he probably won too. She then smirked as a thought crossed her mind. "Hey, let's havea battle. I wanna see what the gym leader went up against, and you owe me for running into me like that." she added cleverly.

Aaron's face changed the second that the girl said "battle." He was all business, his eyes sharp and focused. "Alright then. If that's what you want, then let's do it!" It was a difficult battle for Aaron, mostly since fire-types were his most difficult type to beat and his Emperor was weak already from the gym. Regardless, his team simply outclassed that of his opponent. He had her directly countered in style, skill, and experience; and it was his Vespiqueen that really took charge, regardless of the type weaknesses she faced. After a brutal Seismic Toss from Machoke, her Ninetails was barely able to move. Game Over.

Aaron recalled his Machoke,which was pounding his chest in victory. Aaron smiled, walking up to Rebecca and extending his hand in a show of sportsmanship. "Good fight. That Infernape sure is tough!" He was, of course, saying this to be a nice guy. In reality, it only took two Volt Tackles from Luxray, affectionately named King, to send him flying. "Seriously though, I hope you had as much fun as I did."

Rebecca smirked when she saw his expression, easily able to tell she'd caught his attention. "Oh, that is EXACTLY what I want." she said with a smirk.

Sadly, her battle didn't quite like the total victory she'd imagine in her head. Nevermind the difference in strength, she was used to WINNING fights like that. But the fact he beat her in EVERYTHING ELSE TOO left her more then a little upset... and the same went for seeing her pokemon tossed around like old laundry. When she was returning her Ninetails, she felt like she was going to break her teeth with how much she was grinding them before looking at him as he came over.

Upon him offering his hand, she gave a glare that she had hoped would've set HIM on fire. "SHUT UP!" she said, smacking his hand away. "Honestly, you call yourself a trainer!? How can you just take PITY on people THAT much weaker then you?!" she asked, growling in frustration. "UGH! You know what, forget it! I'm having my friends healed up, and then I'm dealing with Byron. And if I NEVER see you again, it'll still be too soon!" she argued, turning and storming off... not realizing that there was a small case lying on the ground where she'd been standing, probably dropped by her. There was also the fact that it fell open when it hit the ground, and showed five badges already in it from around Sinnoh.

Aaron remained silent during this. Oddly enough, he felt the strangest ping of nostalgia, seeing as this little tantrum that this stranger was throwing reminded him a lot of his little sister back home. When she turned to storm off, he almost did the same. He stopped just in time to see the case on the floor. It clearly wasn't his, as Aaron's personal badge-case was covered in stickers from his infant brothers. Still, he picked it up and examined it, drawing the conclusion that the girl he'd just defeated had dropped it when she sped off. Aaron sighed. He was the bigger man in most situations, and felt like this was a test of that. Shaking his head a bit, he took off in the direction of the Pokemon Center, sure that was where he'd find her.

Rebecca was in fact waiting there, sitting by herself and sulking, having already handed Nurse Joy her pokemon. She couldn't believe how badly she'd lost! And then he acts all NICE to her?! Part of the joy from winning battles at all was being able to gloat to the loser about how much better you were! Right now, she was content just sitting there and fuming angrily. She'd just get everyone healed, beat Byron, and leave. Of couse, when she finally caught site of him, she immediately growled before wordlessly getting up and starting to head for a room. She was NOT in the mood for more of his goody-two shoes personality... She also apparently hadn't yet realized she lost her badge case.

Aaron rolled his eyes when he saw the girl again, looking like the world was ending. He himself wouldn't be half the trainer he was without receiving a several shattering losses from trainers he thought were inferior. God, just deal with it. As if approaching a wounded Houndoom, which is a more accurate comparison than most would think, he walked up to her. Aaron hardly even opened her mouth before she stood and stormed in the direction of a room. He sighed and pursued, hand on the case he was here to return. However, when he found his way to the doorway of her room, his purpose...shifted. The girl was acting like a pure brat, and that in itself infuriated him. She also apparantly didn't care enough about her Pokemon to even be with her healing Pokemon in favor of fleeing from a stranger with perfectly good intentions!

Rebecca didn't so much as look back at him the entire time she stormed off, coming back to her room and giving a frown afterwards as she tossed her bag onto her bed and sat down... then promptly grabbed a pillow and started punching it to vent her frustration before tossing it aside. WHY was this kid insistant on following her around?! Did he really have nothing else to do around here when he already beat the gym leader?! Why not just LEAVE?! The next gym was on the other end of Sinnoh afterall! At hearing someone starting to open the door, she gave a growl. "I swear, that better be Nurse Joy on the other side!" she said, looking back with a glare.

Unfazed, Aaron opened the door and stepped inside, crossing his arms when he looked at her. "You're acting like a baby. Losing battles is just part of being a trainer, you know." He walked closer to her, fishing in his pocket for something. Right now, he just wanted to give her back her case, so he could get on with his life. Aaron didn't need girl drama following him around while he was trying to become champion.
