Taki grumbled to himself. Nothing really coherent or even seeming like words. He didn’t particularly want to worry Link, he just didn’t feel right running away. Though, that was when he thought his magic got strong enough to fight one, which apparently, it did not. “F-Fine..” he muttered quietly.

Link softly sighed hearing the response he got, and crossed his arms softly as he thought to himself, looking at the boy. “Let’s head back to the castle, we can talk more there. And get you better looked at when we aren’t in the open.” He explained. He wanted to let the boy grow, but he still had to be stern in the matter at hand

Taki said nothing and nodded with a slight groan as he turned to follow Link back to the castle. His eyes began to look a bit dimmer, an indication that he used too much magic for the moment. He wasn’t going to collapse or anything, he was just low on proverbial fuel.

Link could recognize that situation and softly nodded as he reasoned what it could be in his head. He didn’t say much yet as they headed for their home as link occasionally glanced back to check on Taki to make sure he was still following him

Taki stuck behind, occasionally stepping aside to gather resources or items he saw as he walked. Most were just ingredients to cook, but he also liked creating various weapons to test their efficacy against various monsters. But even with his stepping aside, he was still able to keep up with Link

The man would occasionally glance back and see him stepping aside as curiosity and gathering instinct got the boy, but he didn’t seem to worry much whenever he’d catch back up, the boy clearly showing a good head to keep with his teacher on the moment. Nodding, link would quickly return to the castle with his student in tow

Once they returned to the castle, Taki stayed quiet, but at least deposited what he had gathered before returning to follow his master. The boy was nervous, anticipating some sort of punishment to make itself known.

Link was making way for his own chamber and was glad to see taki was quick to follow as the hero didn’t say much on their journey towards it. “I’m disappointed Taki. I know you wish to fight, and learn… but I still have rules for a reason” was what broke the silence. Disappointment was never fun

Taki flinched at that word and bit his lip, only nodding in response. Fidgeting as they made their way to Link’s chambers, he couldn’t hide his nerves as he awaited any word or announcement of a punishment.
