But unfortunately, he'd gotten extremely curious with that comment.

'Why would Mr Lunn not want me to go into his greenhouse?' he thought to himself, 'It can't be that dangerous'

Just then, he heard his tummy rumble.

Geoffrey also heard this extraordinarily loud rumble. He presumed this was partly because of the time Christopher had spent on the run from the orphanage people.

"Good gracious, it sounds like you're hungry. Is there anything you'd like to eat?"

"Just...could you perhaps get me an apple or something? Or maybe some grapes?" Christopher asked.

"Of course..." said Geoffrey "...There's some in the bowl in the kitchen, help yourself."

He knew that he would have to go out and get furniture and clothes for Christopher, but right now, the boy's safety and wellbeing was his only priority.

He went back into the living room to watch the television.

Christopher thanked Geoffrey, then headed into the kitchen. But as he got something to eat, the same thing kept going on in his little mind.

The back door was still open. He could see that Mr Lunn was watching TV, so he decided to take the chance. He quickly and stealthily snuck outside.

Christopher carefully opened the greenhouse door. He checked to see he wasn't being followed and snuck inside. It was full of all kinds of plants.

"Why on earth didn't Mr Lunn want me in here?" the youngster said out loud to himself.

Geoffrey sat and watched the television, unaware of what was occurring outside.

The reason he did not want Christopher in his greenhouse was because of the number of valuable and expensive plants he grew inside. He believed that this sort of thing is too complicated for a child of six to understand, so he thought it best that Christopher stayed out of his greenhouse altogether.

He noticed the absence of Christopher, but he thought nothing of it, he just thought he'd be just sat in the kitchen eating fruit.

It was almost like a jungle in the greenhouse, but Christopher, being so small, was able to get through or around most of the plants.

He loved the smell some of the flowers were admitting.

By now, though, he'd been in there for quite a while.

A few minutes had past and now Geoffrey was beginning to get suspicious.

"What is he up to?" he thought to himself.

He looked round into the kitchen but saw no-one there.

"Christopher?" He called.

Christopher was still in the greenhouse and still exploring. Some of the plants were getting trampled underfoot, and a pot fell over and the supporting cane hit the window, making a loud rattle.

It was a rattle that might even have been heard from the house....

Geoffrey was startled by a noise that sounded like something hitting a window.

He went over to the kitchen window to look outside at his greenhouse. The door was open.

He then saw a plant move, and caught a glimpse of Christopher walking around inside.

"That boy is now officially in trouble." He thought to himself.

He marched out of the kitchen, into the garden and towards the greenhouse.
