A brief story of the town:

Gentle Hollow wasn't always like that. It started like many other towns. When the technology blossomed, many young people fled to big cities, leaving the town almost on the verge of disappearing. However, soon people realized their mistake. Cities slowly turned from the prosperous places they once were to places filled with crime, insecurity and more and more expensive. Prices skyrocketed, nor salaries, and politicians seemed to ignore the public security issues. That was why many people returned to towns, where life was, usually, quieter.

At Gentle Hollow, however, they decided to do something more than just returning. They decided to approve some rules, restricting what underage people could do. The idea was to ensure children grew up without being corrupted, in the hope for a much better generation.

Soon, the works of Dr. Leonhart, a children psychiatrist, influenced the town. Dr. Leonhart was very controversial in his views: he blamed girls for most of the problems, since he considered girls mature earlier than boys; thus, they acted in a way they corrupted those young men. Also, he considered that girls could benefit more from certain discipline methods, since they were much more emotional than boys. Moreover, he advocated for the return of corporal punishments, mainly spankings.

While at first his views were discussed and even rejected by many, in Gentle Hollow they decided it was worth a try. They invited the psychiatrist to the town, and they asked for a different setting in laws, so they could implement the method. Surprisingly, the government, that had shifted after many years, accepted it, in a desperate way to find something that could tackle the juvenile crime rate, that was unacceptably high. That was how Gentle Hollow started using corporal punishments, performing a test that, if worked, could be implemented in all the country.

Special laws and considerations:

1. All underage girls can be spanked by any men, even those who are not in the family
2. All underage boys can be spanked only by their family male members.
3. Boys can't spank their mothers or adults. They can, however, spank older siblings.
4. Refusing to get a spanking is a serious offense.
5. All underage girls must submit to regular maintenance. Failing to do so will be a serious offense.
6. All underage girls must carry at least one spanking tool when outside from home.
7. All underage girls must stand up on public transport, not using the seats.
8. All underage girls must do housework, helping their mothers when commanded.
9. In the case of conflict between a boy and a girl, it will always be ruled whatever is most beneficial for the boy. If there is a plea between an underage girl and an adult male, the man/men testimony will always have reasonable credibility; hence the girl will have to prove them wrong.

Punishments that are used:

Spankings:
Spankings are the most common way of discipline in Gentle Hollow. Spankings are not only well-seen and recommended by medical staff, they are also encouraged, and it is common that doctors prescribe them and help parents to tailor discipline plans for their girls. However, there is one limitation to that: hand spankings are often not so well seen, since many consider that hands should be only for quick slaps and for providing care, not for long spanking sessions. After all the years, spankings have fueled even an industry of implements and furniture, all designed for parents to ensure they could have the best tools for their naughty girls.
