There was a long silence while the old maid stared at the princess with a cold gaze, however, that silence was broken as soon as Majorie straightened herself up; the sharp sound of flash hitting flesh resounded in the place as the older woman had just thrown a slap across the young royal's face. "How dare you call yourself a princess?" Brittany demanded offended by the very sight of the poorly made actions.

"I am one by birth right!" she points out rather sharply.

"Understand that that's gone now, little princess!" The maid snapped fiercely, glaring at the girl. "Your birth has nothing to do with your rights anymore, either you become the perfect princess and convince the Lords that you're worthy of royalty or everything you know will be lost for you"

"And they sent you , rather then came themselves because?"

Esther "My Ladys birth, will always define her rights, fair or not, its how things have worked for millenia"

Then continues "As it happens, we should try to impress the nobles, I disagree with how harsh, even rude this woman is being milady" Esther says, "But shes right, you ARE the royal family now, you have to show them the strengh and power of the royalty."

"They didn't sent me" The woman said coldly. "You may be royalty, but if the nobles see you as unworthy, what would stop them from taking you down?" The maid said while glaring at the girl. "The only way you can keep your position is to marry, and to marry you have to become the perfect princess, which you aren't."

"You do know I could have you executed for striking your betters?" She asks sharply.

The maid winces a "A fair point... without sanction from the nobles that could happen...

"And who would take that order to accomplishment if you are the only one in this castle?" The older maid said. "The only way you might get some respect is if you stop acting like a filthy peasant with no raising. Else you'd find yourself with nothing. Princess or not, your main concern is to bow and dance for the nobles so you'd have some power"

"I doubt she'd have much trouble getting a petty servant Executed on a whim" Esther says nervously with a glance saying "Dont overplay your hand"

"But the approval of the nobles, shouldnt be that hard to obtain I think... given that this is something that needs to be done..." She admits...
