Akiza blushed as she avoided eye contact as he held her hands as he desperately tried to understand her and her feelings. Akiza knew what she needed but didn’t want to say it as it was embarrassing to even think about. With a gulp she finally relented as she closed her eyes tight and pulled her hands away. “I missed out on so much discipline after I left, one’s that a definitely need especially after all the pain I caused.” She said before letting out a sigh. “I-I want you and mom to punish me like you would if I was still a kid! Cause in the end of the day, I’m nothing but a naughty brat!”

Hideo was expecting a conversation about the horrors of the war with the Dark Signer, or more (deserved, justified) blame about her childhood. He definitely didn’t expect for Akiza to practically beg for punishment.

“Punish you like a child???” Hideo repeated, a bit dumbfounded. Akiza was 17-years-old now. She was practically a grown adult, and much of that growing had been when she wasn’t with them.

“Akiza, you’re not a naughty brat, and I’m not going to punish you. Your mother and I are here to support you and rebuild our relationship with you. Not to hurt you.” Hideo denied, not wanting to punish his daughter in anyway.

“It’s not going to hurt me, it’s something that I deserve and something that I thought as my father that you would do for me!” Akiza told him with tears in her eyes as she stomped her foot. “Maybe I made a mistake coming home if you can’t even discipline your own daughter! And plus it doesn’t have to be just discipline, I missed out on a lot of stuff after I left! This could be a way for you both to have your little girl back!”

Hideo flinched a little. He hadn’t expected Akiza to regret coming home over not being punished.

Hideo stood up, meeting his daughter’s angry gaze with a calmer, sadder one. “This…I need to think about this, and talk it over with your mother. I’ll bring up your food so you don’t go hungry…” Hideo trailed off, at a loss for words.

“I love you, Akiza, don’t forget that. I hope you won’t regret coming home.” He added, before heading to the door.

Akiza didn’t say anything as she turned her back to him, sighing as this conversation has not gone as she hoped. She figured he would understand where she was coming from and everything would be good. But now she stared at her duel disk in the corner of the room and hung her head as she felt the door close behind her

That night passed, swiftly.

Hideo did bring up dinner, as he promised, leaving it on a food tray outside of Akiza’s room, before returning to speak with Setsuko. As it turned out, Setsuko had heard bits and pieces since Akiza had been yelling. Hideo filled her in on the parts she missed, and the two wound up in a long discussion that went well over dinner and into the night.

The next morning, Hideo and Setsuko were in the kitchen. Setsuko was preparing breakfast, and Hideo was reviewing another document. The both of them had spoken about this at length and came to a consensus- they would give Akiza what she wanted.

The two were waiting for Akiza to come downstairs so they could talk to her about it.

The morning soon came and Akiza was in a pit of sadness and anxiety as she waited for her fate. She didn’t touch the food as she had a lot on her mind. She was still dressed in her outfit from the day before and didn’t even take a shower since the day before so her hair was messy and wild and her clothes were dirty and sweaty. It was getting late into the morning and it looked like Akiza didn’t sleep a wink as her eyes were baggy and it looked like she was crying as her eyes were red. She walked into the kitchen at a slow pace and sighed

Hideo and Setsuko exchanged looks of concern.

Akiza’s state was clearly in poor health. She hadn’t taken care of herself at all. She was in the same clothes, and there were bags under her puffy red eyes.

“Good morning, honey. Rough night, huh?” Setsuko called out, warmly and worriedly. She brought over a plate of breakfast and set it down where Akiza would traditionally sit with them.

“Did you not sleep at all?” Hideo asked, concerned. This at least reaffirmed the will to fulfill Akiza’s request. If she couldn’t--or perhaps wouldn’t--take care of her most basic needs without a helping hand…no pun intended.

“All I need is coffee and I’m good to go…” Akiza said tiredly as she went to the coffee machine to pour herself a cup hot coffee and took a healthy sip from it. Passing by her parents, they would be able to tell her lack of hygiene with the way she had an oder coming from her. She still was awkward around her father, starting to regret even bringing up her idea to him. She knew he wasn’t going to understand her anyways

"Akiza, no. Coffee isn't nearly enough. Sit down and eat, dear." Akiza's mother, Setsuko, stopped Akiza from leaving the kitchen. She placed a comforting but firm hand on her daughter's shoulder and guided her to the kitchen table.

Hideo observed this and nodded, naturally agreeing with his wife. “Your mother is right. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." Hideo paused and settled on setting bait to lure Akiza in for a proper breakfast. "After all three of us have eaten breakfast, we need to have a family meeting to discuss your..ah..request, from last night."

Considering how passionate and pushy Akiza had been last night about being spanked, Hideo believed this should be enough to get her to eat obediently. Unless she had changed her mind, of course.
