A Royal Pain In The Butt...Literally (For SmileyCream)

There are many ways to rule a country. You can be voted by the people if they think you are the right person. You can take it by force and control with an iron fist. Have the people fear you for it or it could be in your blood. This is a story of a small, but powerful kingdom. They are well know for their culture, music, and have mines filled with priceless gems. They also have strong military force. They place no threat to the neighboring countries, but if they plan to attack. They better watch out. For the most part they were peaceful and had good connection with others. This is the country of Tiāntáng lǐngyù.

It was rule by Emperor Jingguo and Empress Mei. Both were kindhearted, wise, and most respectable Red pandas you will ever meet, if you are lucky. For they truly cared for their people. If they were suffering due to a poor harvest, they would be there. If a small village had fallen ill. They would send their best doctors out. Both wanted them to know that they were there for them for the good and bad. Although there was a time where they needed their people to help them.


It was when their one and only son was born, Xiaotong. They put on a parade to celebrate the birth to the heir of the kingdom. Of course it started out well. Everyone was cheering and shouting with joy. But at night, tragedy strikes the royal family. For as they were sleeping away in their beds. They were suddenly attack. They made off with some of the money, family jewels, robes and their son. The Empress fallen sick and the Emperor wend out a special task force to find him. Even the people formed their own search group to help out. It took them three weeks to fine the prince in a piles of rags and with some of the robes. Sadly they never caught the bad guys.

Even since then. Both the Emperor and Empress hired a bodyguard to watch over their son. So what happened to him never happens again. The years passed and the baby grew up. Now he was twelve years old. Since he had spend most of his life behind the palace walls. He has became rather rowdy and a bit hyper. Right now he was suppose to be inside, doing his school work. As she was in the garden, playing with a ball.

He was a small red panda cub. Wearing a royal blue with golden ivy pattern robe. His hair was long and silky raven black hair. Pulled back and put into a braid. There was no shoes on his feet and his stunning amber eyes looks at the ball. As he throws the ball into the air. Playing with himself. Not wanting to do his school work.

Daiki had his work cut out for him on a very frequent basis. The emperor and empress’s son seemed to grow more adventurous with every day. Possibly every hour. It seemed like it anyway. He had just paused for a moment to recollect his thoughts. It wasn’t easy to tend to such an energetic child. By the time he had glanced up though the child had vanished. Regardless to if they were amidst general peace or not, his thoughts instantly went to the worst. It was bound to be during one of these times that Xaiotong had scampered off that something would happen.

Hardly sparing a moment, he had begun to walk at a rather fast pace, eyes scanning for the red panda cub. Judging by his usual pattern—the desire to have some sort of fun, he could only guess that the cub had likely gone to find something more amusing to do than his studies. How had he disappeared so fast?

Daiki’s clothing was more suited to practical use—in the case he needed to protect young Xaiotong— although it still had a certain elegance to it that made him appear suitable as a proper guard for royalty.



((Just a few questions as to your preferences, should my character be addressing yours simply by name or some title of honor? XD Different people like to handle it different ways so I thought I'd ask. Also did we decide what species I was using? I don't recall, which is why I didn't specify here yet ))

Soon the young prince soon got bored playing with the ball all by himself. It stinks that he was the only child in the palace. The only time that he was with others his age was either when his parents were looking for an arranged wedding or if they throw a party and the others bring their children. Yet that was rare. Since it's mostly them leaving to go to parties. Leaving him all alone. Expect for Daiki, his loyal and faithful bodyguard.

Yet his thoughts were that he was only nice to him because he is paid to watch over him. Which gets annoying now and again. Since he was only a newborn. He had no memories of the kidnapping. He was told that his mother fall sick from worry and that they found him in a old building. Yet he does have strange dreams sometimes that he wakes up at night in terror.

Getting a little hungry. He spots the peach tree and decides to climb. for a sweet, plump peach sounded so good to Xiaotong. So setting the ball down. He walks over to the tree. Looks for the fattest one. Then starts to climb. He was actually a good climber. He one day wants to try to climb the palaces walls. To see what it's like out there. See the people that he will one day rule over. With being cooped up at the palace. Seeing everything that it has to offer. He grew tired. It wasn't long before he was at the top of the tree. Munching on a peach.

((You can be whatever you want to be. As for the titles. I was thinking that the prince allows him to simply call him by his name.))

"Xiaotong?" Daiki called as he made his way outside. The cub had taken a particular curiosity to it from his observation. He wouldn't be surprised if he were to find him out here. Coming across the abandoned ball was the first sign he might be headed in the proper direction.

Hopefully the red panda hadn't learned how to scale any of the walls yet--that would be a most interesting predicament to find himself in. He strode along through the garden, trying to peer amongst the various plants for any sign of the rowdy little boy. Perhaps he was playing a game of hide and seek--that happened to be by far Daiki's least favorite game for the young prince to partake in. It may have all been fun and games for him, but for Daiki is created a great deal of worry and unneeded stress.

It was at that moment he spotted a most unusual shape at the top of one of the nearby trees. Unless it had begun to grow a new type of fruit--one clothed in blue--then he had likely found his runaway prince.

"Xiaotong?" He repeated again as he neared the tree, his urgency diminishing as he did so.

After all, who else could it be?


(Alright! ^.^ And umm he shall be a snow leopard! XD Because they have floofy tails and I like! XD )

He was happily nibbling on the fruit when he hears a familiar voice. It was none other then the bodyguard. He took a huge bite of the fruit. Then he looks down at the snow leopard. "Oh...hey there." he said in a casual way. With his mouth filled with the fruit. Little droplets of it's juices falling down onto the ground and a little on Daiki. Gulping down the rest. He remains to stay in the tree. For he liked high places. It give him a view of his surroundings and made people look so small. "Hah, you look like an ant from here." he said in a cheeky way. Pinching his thumb and index finger between his head. Looking like he was squishing his head.

Even if he hates it. He loves playing hide and seek. To him it was fun and a wonderful training exercise for his protector. Of course maybe it would be wise if he actually told him when he was plating the game might of been thoughtful. Mostly he just runs and hides. When he first started to do this. He was four years old. The place went into chaos. Thinking that he was once again kidnapped. Until he was found by none other then the giant feline. Hiding in a giant vase in a the meeting hall. His mother cried and hold him in her arms afterwords. The Emperor Was just glad that he was safe.

So still sitting in the tree. With his tail swinging side to side. Polishing off the peach and put the seed into his pocket. He reaches for another one. Licking his lips and took a bite out of it. "Daiki I am so bored!" he whines. "Can we please, please, please! Go out of the palace and into the city? I promise to be good. I am so sick of being trapped within the palace."

Daiki was not very amused by the likening of himself to an ant--nor the fact he now had juice that would no doubt soon be sticky, sprinkling some of his fur and clothing. There could be worse things--he always tried to keep that in mind whenever the young prince was doing something particularly irritating.

He cared for him of course, and wanted nothing short of the best for the troublesome little boy, but that didn't make some of his habits very much easier to deal with.

"I assure you, I am still quite the same size as I was when you last saw me." He stated in regards to the ant comment.

"Is it so much to ask that you inform me of your intentions before you go waltzing off? One day, Xiaotong, one day." He sighed and pointed somewhat dismissively at the boy in the tree. "You're going to give me a heart attack or stroke or something of the likeness."

He was not at all surprised to hear the boy's request to venture out into the city, although the very thought of trying to keep track of the red panda in such a location was enough to make his fur feel a layer of prickly tingles beneath it.

"Not even in consideration at the moment." Daiki answered. "Come down from that tree before you fall or something. You are supposed to be tending to your studies."

He couldn't help himself but to laugh when he told him that he was going to give him a heart attack or something of the sort one day. From him always running off and not telling him as to where he was going. "Oh please. You are the healthiest person I know. I bet you will live longer then I would." he tells him and a grin on his face. For seeing him like this was always funny to him. "I am no longer a cub, Daiki. I am an adult. I don't need you to watch me all the time." he tells him. Trying to sound macho as much as he could. For he was tired of them thinking that he can't watch other himself. Which actually he couldn't. For he was a total klutz. He trips over nothing and ends up with a bruise on his cheek. Of course he will never admit to that.

A pout appears on the prince's face when he was denied of leaving the palace. Leaning his back against the trunk. Hiding within the leaves and shade. Hearing him ordering him to come down from the tree. He looks down at him "But I hate studying!" he whines childishly. "It's so boring with it's just me and the royal tutor." he said. As he stands up and does a balancing act on a branch. That didn't look safe. "And I will not fall from this tree. I am 1oo percent-!" he was cut off as the branch did in fact snap. Sending Xiaotong down to the ground. Letting out a scream of terror.

(Sorry for that long gap in replies >_>, and sorry this post isn't as long. I didn't want to gmod, so I needed your input XD )

An adult? Hardly. Just like a cub to try and make himself sound oh so mature. Of course Daiki wasn't fooled by this sudden proclamation of being an adult--actions hinted otherwise. Regardless he was still his bodyguard anyway he wished to look at it. As much as he did in fact like the cub, if he kept up in his current rate, he was bound to get himself in serious trouble. He could do with a bit of reprehending, that was for sure.

Daiki had just been preparing to give the cub a final warning against his foolish behaviors with the branch he had been on snapped. Near instinctively he lunged forward in an attempt to catch the boy before he hit the ground. His mind didn't even have the time to think of what might happen if he failed.

Luckily for the bodyguard. He was standing at the right spot at the right time. For the prince fell right on top of him. Saving him from a nasty fall. That could of end up badly. Some of the palace servants caught the scene and rushed outside. To see if the young red panda was right. For they were more worried about him then the snow leopard.

For the most part, Xiaotong was okay. He didn't brake any bones or twist anything. He did however had a nasty cut on his ankle. It must of scraped against the broken branch as he fell. He then looks at Daiki to see if he was alright as well.

Daiki sighed--a wave of relief washing over him. The panda cub wasn't screeching in horror or anything so he suspected he must be at least decently okay. The sudden lunge forward hadn't agreed too well with some of his own muscles, but he was certain they would all be fine in due time.

"Are you injured?" Daiki's near instinctive response came immediately before he had even had the chance to gather himself up again.

The various servants arrival did not surprise him--of course the others would be concerned about the young prince, as was he. Then he caught sight of the cut.

"I told you to be careful." He insisted, obviously displeased that the child's foolishness had--just as he had suspected--gotten him injured.
