I've uploaded about 6 or 7 images to the gallery but the 'images' count under my avatar says 0. ^^;

No, its the "cache". Some things little things like that do not update instantly. I've hit the resynchronise image counts just to see if it would update it. It shows up fine now. In the future don't even worry about it. It just takes a little while for everything to go through the whole system.
