Avengers, New Recruits And Unique Training

Who is there to watch over the Earth when aliens, or even massively organised criminals (like terrorists), decide to strike? A simple eight lettered word beginning with an A...Avengers. A collection of carefully selected heroes to handle really dangerous criminals. But after such piece it would be natural for some heroes to begin lacking off...so what could be done about this? Recruitment, simple enough, the SHIELD group has been personally looking through all computer files across the planet just to find specific candicates. And after shortening down that list of candicates the SHIELD's head, Nick Fury, decides which rookie is in and which rookie is out. Some of these newcomers get assigned to basic jobs, like mechanic, but more lucky newcomers would get partnered up with the heroes, so they can be mentored into possibly greater heroes.

Currently in the gym, testing his striking ability on the punching bag, is Steve Rodgers (otherwise known as Captain America). Seventy odd years of being an one man iceberg and still Steve is getting a few flashbacks of his old wartime experiences. At first Steve wasn't fully sure about the idea of letting somebody be his underling or something similar...but after a few weeks of knowing his rookie Captain America felt very alright about it. During those weeks involved introduction, training, agreeing to letting her move in with him and spanking her when its needed. Yes some say that a spanking is an old method but technically Steve Rodgers is a very old man. "She's late...again..." Steve thought to himself moments before knocking the bag off its hinges. He sighed lightly before grabbing another punching bag and began to hook this one up, trying to keep himself occupied while waiting for his student.

Walking down the corridor at this moment is Amy Van Persie, even though she'll happily accept just being called 'Amy.' The female is another rookie that have been here for a couple of weeks and some people across SHIELD have already spread quiet rumours that this trainee has got 'the short end of the stick' when Nick Fury chose himself to be her mentor. His rumour was mainly due to how intimidated some of them felt towards him...but the brunette thought differently. Instead of being afraid of her mentor she felt honoured about being his rookie. Her currently clothing is kind of a basic SHIELD uniform since Amy wasn't fully sure what her heroine outfit should look like if she ever becomes one.

Charlotte was sitting in the library, studying. The red haired girl was deeply in thoughts, as she suddenly noticed, that her handy was ringing. She looked at it and it showed her a memo that her training had just begun. "Shit!" Quickly, she packed her things and started running. Oh damn it, Steve would sure be angry with her... Once she arrived in the gym, she changed her clothes and went to find her mentor, which wasn't hard because she could hear the noise that his punching made through the whole gym. She quickly walked over to him. "I'm sorry. I was studying in the library and didn't notice how late it already is", she said honestly and looked at him apologetically. He couldn't be mad at her for studying much, could he? He told her to study much...and that it is important.

Nick Fury already awaited her in one of the meeting rooms. The first things he was teaching her, weren't physical, except her punishments. He had decided to start with tactics and rules that she should now. Later, he would sure teach her how to fight, but for the beginning this would be enough. He nodded as she entered the room and pointed at a flipchart. Teaching somebody important things wasn't always easy, but Nick wasn't the kind of spy who would give up such a task. It was just a matter of time if she would become such a good spy like him. "Did you study the rules that I gave you?", he asked.

Steve indeed felt a bit frustrated about Charlotte being late to her training but he couldn't help sighing lightly when the redhead finally showed up, relieved that she wasn't attacked on the way here or something. Admittedly Rodgers knew that he did indeed told hs redheaded underling that she needs to study for it is extremely important...little did he expect her to end up studying into hr training time. Maybe, if Charlotte gave a stupid excuse, then maybe Steve would have been angry enough to throw her over his knee straight away...but since she gave him a valid reason, and her apologetic look does look cute, Steve mentally decided to wait until after training to see if she should be punished or not. "Don't worry about it Charlotte..." Captain said softly while gently placing his left hand on her right shoulder before glancing over towards a second hung up punching bag. "To start, I would like you to fight this punching bag for exactly five minutes...it may seem simple but I would like to see how you'd fight." He was partly curious to see if the female would go full out and run out of gas before the five minutes were over or would she go for a slow pace that could possibly leave her open to a possibly counter attack...another reason for this was so Steve could think of what else could he have her do in her training.

Amy made sure that she would arrive spot on time to her lessons, what embarrassingly happen in her very first lesson still fresh in her mind. Almost exactly like Nick, the brunette has no superpowers...so the female understood why tactical knowledge would be extremely valuable to expand on instead of just improving one's physical strengths, especially when she personally want to be a brilliant spy. She managed to glance over to the flipchart before listening to his question. It was after this question was spoken that the female realised she has forgot to study every-single-one of these rules "yes, I studied all the rules, sir."

Charlotte smiled relieved at her mentor as he told her that this would be alright. "Thank you Sir, I'll make sure to watch the time more from now on when I am studying", she promised with a honest look. She listened to the instructions that the Captain gave and turned around to go to the punching bag. She had two reasons to do that. First of all, she wanted to satisfy him, and the second one was, that she didn't want him to see her 'are you serious?' face, which was a bit cheeky. Nick Fury didn't choose her from over 1000 people for no reason. She had of course experience in fighting, especially kickboxing. But she decided just to do as she was told so that he wouldn't have a reason to punish her or scold her. Slowly but steady she started to punch the bag, by the 4th minute her punches got stronger but not faster, and in the last minute she punched strong and hard and kicked the bag away to finish. Then, she stopped the bag as it swung back to her and smiled.

Nick looked at Amy for a moment. He knew that she wasn't telling the truth right now, he could always tell things like that. But he decided to embarrass her a bit and nodded. "Alright, how about you tell me the first rule then", he suggested and looked at her expectantly. She would learn quickly that lying wasn't an option, especially lying to him.

Steve smiled lightly back to his underling once she spoke of her promise, believing that she was telling him the complete truth. Her cheeky 'are you serious?' face didn't expect the hero's view but instead of instantly reprimanding the female Steve stayed quiet while attentively watching Charlotte's striking pattern, glad to see that there are not alot of openings for counter attacks. He never admitted it but he personally thought that Charlotte had a wonderful body, but haven't really advanced much on this aspect yet since he's technically old enough to be her grandfather, and after noticing that the fives minutes were over Steve smiled back at the redhead. "That was a decent warmup session...now for the lesson," while saying his words Captain used his peripheral vision to check on the surroundings to see that the gym has just emptied up. "It must be pretty obvious that strong, and quick, strikes are important...but without a decent block, these strikes will be worthless. So we're going to do a simple exercise...in the next five minutes you'll attack me in any way you wish and I'll try to block them all. Afterwards we'll have a half minute break before spending the next fivee minutes with me attacking you and you trying to block me," the male tried to explain. "Feel free to attack me when you're ready," he said lightly.

Amy failed to realise that Nick instantly knew that she was lying to him, since he was alot better at reading people than she is. When Fury nodded the female smiled lightly, thinking that she has convinced him...that was until he asked her to say what the first rule was "shit, does he know?" The female knew from the look in his eye that she needed to answer quickly "don't ever leave any trails unless you're planning an ambush," she guessed.

Charlotte listened to her teacher and nodded. She was slightly annoyed that he didn't even say anything about her attacks that she just showed him. "Maybe it's not good enough in his opinion...", she thought to herself but couldn't wipe away that slightly cheeky face expression. She took a deep breath and started attacking Steve. She noticed quickly that it wasn't easy to fight against him, after all he was Captain America, how could she ever had thought about that? After a few tries she finally managed to lightly punch his chest, which was more than she thought she would do. His chest...oh he was a really handsome man, but she was sure that he just thought of her as a stupid little student, and so she never dared to ask him anything private. She didn't want to destroy the trust.

Nick listened to Amy, his face not showing any emotion. It was indeed rule one but he decided to try something. "That was the 3rd rule", he said, even if it wasn't true. She wouldn't know it, because she didn't study the rules. "Do you want to try it again?", he asked.

"She might be a little green but Charlotte's strikes were definitely quite good," roamed through the mind of Captain America while he noticed that his redheaded underling haven't removed that cheeky expression from her face "maybe she will get a spanking for her cheekiness." Even though he was thinking about other matters the male managed to perfectly deflect and block Charlotte's attacks, his military training most likely a massive contributor to Steve's skills. He need of her kickboxing skills, so he was certain that she could strike well, but sometimes its better to have a sparring partner then just use a punching bag. He tried to predict what big attack the redhead would go for next so he left himself momentarily open for Charlotte's light punch to get his chest. It was at the moment he looked down, to pin-point exactly where the punch landed on his chest, Steve ended up looking in the eyes of this beauty in front of him. "Impressive," he admitted to the female with a light smile, believing that his student only sees him as a teacher so he mentally decided not to ask her anything private yet, since he doesn't want her to no longer trust him.

"I-It...oh of course it was, must have been a momentary lapse of memory," Amy instantly replied with a slight chuckle, trying to hide the fact that she didn't fully research the rules. The brunette noticed that emotionless Nick's facial expression while hearing his question "I'll try again." She said with a light nod, trying her hardest to look like she actually researched these rules given to her, but it awkwardly took the female a few silent seconds to finally think of a rule "...um...never let your mind stray away from the mission you're given," Amy guessed again.

Charlotte blushed as Steve looked her right into her eyes. "Thank you Sir", she said with a little smile. She was indeed proud that she was able to punch him, even if it was just lightly. And she was happy that he praised her for it. Impressive. He was thinking that she was impressive. Charlotte grinned, bot cheeky anymore. Then, she got back in position. "Shall we continue?", she asked him.

Fury sighed and looked her right into the eyes. "Amy, do you think this is a game? Because if you do so, you can leave. I didn't tell you to study those rules for no reason. And I thought better of you than lying to me. A honorable agent admits all his mistakes, even if that means trouble for him.", he told her sternly.

Steve did notice Charlotte's blush but refused to say anything about it, not wanting to cause his student to feel unsettled, even if its just slightly. Captain America predicted that the redhead would be proud of getting at least one hit on him, since there is a massive difference between their fighting skills, but it didn't stop him from feeling personally happy when she grinned at him. At his underling's question Steve glanced at a clock, spotting that she has one minute of striking to go before going through five minute of defensive works, "yes, let's continue...let's see if your lght punch wasn't a fluke." Rodger said with a slight grin on his face, deciding to challenge his underling to see if she'll go all out against him and accidentally leave an opening or not.

It was at the moment he sighed that the female realised that he knew the entire time and began to mentally curse herself as he began to scold her. It might be a childish thing but Amy could never bring herself to look into Nick's eye when he's tellng her off. "I know this isn't not a game..." she said softly after hearing the last of her trainer's scolding words, wanting to apologise to him but felt that an apology would never be good enough for what she've done.

Charlotte grinned even more and decided not to reply that comment with a cheeky answer. Even if Steve seemed to be a bit playful and light mooded with her at the moment, she was never sure if it would stay that way and if she was right with her way of seeing the things. So she just rolled her eyes with that bright grin and got in position. As soon as Steve was in position, Charlotte started attacking him fast but not too strong. She would need her stamina during the next few minutes and she knew it. But this time it seemed harder than before and she gave her really best to punch her teacher again. After a moment, she swung her fist to his torso, and blocked his hand with that one while she used the distraction to punch him onto the chin lightly.

Fury sighed. "I am glad to hear that, because I thought that you think otherwise. I expect better from you Amy, much better.", he told her, not expecting an apology yet. It would come later, after the unpleasant part would have been done. Nick gave her a few pieces of paper. "Study the rules while I am away and when I return, you'll tell me the reason why every rule is important.", he said sternly and left the room.
