Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
(I forgot its name sorry D| So I made up a random new one ._. ....that probably makes no sense at all but sounds cool, YUS -w- I have my logic behind it =D )
Previous 2:
“Well…” Glacier began, but didn’t say much more—not right away that was. “I would’ve, Sir. I mean, I would’ve checked regardless to if you were asking me to or not, but…” His light blue eyes glanced off to the side as he momentarily let them drift after a cat walking down the street. “I’m just not good at it. I know you told me how, but…I don’t know. I still can’t tell.”
Glacier wasn’t being intentionally difficult now. It just wasn’t something he could learn from a single observation—especially with how many things Arid had told him. Even if the kit wasn’t all that fond of the other cat—not yet anyway—he wasn’t intentionally trying not to learn.
Glacier’s ears had lowered yet again. This time it wasn’t in any regard to Arid though, nor what they were doing, really. Well, not directly. Once he was conscious of them being down he forced them back up, within seconds he had folded one back down though, now keeping the one up and the other down. He had his reasons, but to the casual cat it probably just looked like some kind of nervous twitch.
--
Arid patted the kit’s back a bit.
-This is no test, young one, I just wanted to know if you were doing so or not, I’ll explain you more of how to do it better in the future, I promise” He said, eyes drifting to the Glacier before returning to the street, never really stopping picking up details and movements.
His mind worked like that, every cat had a moment of his attention, a very very small one, where he worked everything he could out before passing to the other, trying to watch the whole context as well.
He was not infalible, but he did his best to not to let anything important go.
--
New:
Glacier simply nodded in response to what Arid was telling him. He wasn’t sure what more there was to say than simply acknowledging it. He tried to set the thoughts aside for the moment. If he didn’t know how to do it, trying right now probably wouldn’t help much. Not as a focal point anyway. He needed to stick to what he knew that way he’d at least be some kind of help.
Still with one ear up and the other down he swiveled himself around to stare off the opposite direction he had been turned. He didn’t fully understand why they had moved onto a location that really didn’t seem to be in trouble when they knew good and well there were bad cats at the park, but for the time being he kept his mouth shut about, if only to avoid getting himself in trouble again. He was pretty sure that was the only reason he wasn’t asking about it. That was a fairly stupid reason come to think of it. He was a cop after all. Why should he be afraid of such…petty consequences. Probably because he wasn’t sure his own issue with it was truly a problem. Yeah.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Arid kept patrolling, trying to look nearly distracted as he took in the other cats expressions, ways of walking, doings, etc.
The Park cats were still in his mind but without any crime they would be losing their time there and put the gunslinger dark cat more and more nervous, making a cat like him snap was a very bad idea in his experience.
“Patroling means to round the territory, staying in one place for long lets the other more open for an attack” The tall cat mentioned as he saw the kid staring the opposite direction.
“We will do a retour in some moments, so stay sharp at the now and here” He adviced as they kept walking.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Glacier's ears twitched as his attention returned to Arid for a moment. He still cast another glance back in the general direction they had come from. His tail flicked once before he pried his gaze back to what was immediately around them.
"Okay, Sir."
Glacier watched the cats surrounding them then. He did notice that Arid's method of observing looked more like...well he wasn't. Glacier had mistaken it for the other cat not paying attention earlier, but eventually had come to the conclusion that being inconspicuous probably worked better. Glacier tried that practice a few times himself. He knew how to do it outside of his work after all. Pretending to be preoccupied and not at all observing ones surroundings could work well when confronted by cats who wanted to fight. Of course it could also work the opposite way for ones who were looking for an easy target to steal from or something. He had learned that much.
He supposed the logic of the patrol made sense. It was just hard to pry his mind off of cats who had already proven to have shady intent. To him it seemed more like the equivalent of smearing a mess around a counter as opposed to cleaning it all up before moving on to the less dirty portion. The kit did have a tendency to trust what others were telling him though--well most everyone aside from Arid anyway. But for now, he seemed willing enough to accept it at face value.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
They kept going, the place was calm, almost completly. Then suddenly Arid put his hand over Glacier’s shoulder and with a light smile pushed him towards a nearby hot-dog cart.
“Go, get me a hot dog and don’t move until I tell you” He said as if joking, yet dead serious, he had seen one of the main bugs, he couldn’t squash it, but he wanted to know what the hell was going on and why was that cat here, and he didn’t want Glacier being seen.
Once he did that he walked towards a darkened alley and frowned, the easy going expression he always wore going out the window as it was remplaced with a dead serious one, brown eyes becoming hard, his yellowish fur standing a bit and then relaxing, he didn't need any sign of being agressive right now.
"Interesting to find you around Sly" He greeted the half hidden criminal cat once he was close enough and once he was sure that Glacier had done as told.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Glacier’s ears perked up as he felt Arid’s hand on his shoulder. He tried to glance back momentarily as he was directed towards the hotdog stand but once he had heard his destination, he took a few steps in that direction before pausing to glance at Arid like the cat had yet again lost his mind. After all, he had already stopped for coffee a little bit ago. Why’d he need food now too?
Either way he had enough smarts not to question why he needed to do that so suddenly. Everything looked pretty peaceful anyway so the black and white kit headed over to the hot dog stand, quietly waiting near it as he searched for which pocket he had stuffed his money in. He didn’t have a lot by any means. He had been living on the streets after all, but he had enough to get something like a hotdog he was sure.
He still watched around himself, glancing at the sky even on occasion as he waited for the cat ahead of him to get finished buying their hotdog. His gaze settled for a few moments onto a pretty blue-gray female cat—until he realized he was staring and made a conscious effort to look away.
He did wonder why Arid hadn’t followed him over here, and was the cat actually serious that he wasn’t allowed to move until he said so? Arid hadn’t said they were doing any sort of undercover operation so why did he need to stay still? Really, it was probably a good chance for him to disappear if he wanted to. Although he wasn’t sure that would bring forth any desirable results—not after his earlier encounters.
“What do you want?”
“Huh?” Glacier’s head swung around, now noticing that the other cat had already left the cart.
Oops. Had they been waiting? “Er-oh, sorry about that.” Glacier’s ears folded down as he forced a smile. “Just one.”
And so he waited, mind more or less curious as to what he might be missing out on. He wasn’t a stupid kit. He could guess if Arid wasn’t with him that he was probably doing something and if there was a reason he couldn’t see it probably meant it was that much more interesting. He wouldn’t go seek it out though. He was pretty sure he valued being able to sit down sometime in the distant future.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
The hot dog seller raised one eyebrow and gave him the hotdog dismisively.
“$1 dollar, kit” He said gruffily.
Silvester, or Sly as most knew him by, was one of the medium sized clans, he had scalated through the positions, he was a white and black cat with some scars here and there, he often picked random criminals to test them, often just to have fun or distract “watchers”
“Let me guess, the dark friend in the park is your new adquisition? What are you planning to see now?”
The bi colored cat frowned then, his ears going lower, yet he mantained his smirk.
“So what? No one will suspect anything of him, he’s just a random criminal in Mr Don’s territory”
“The Watchers won’t suspect, but Don might hear it”
Sly growled a bit and then nodded, calming down.
“And would he believe you?”
Arid grinned.
“Would he believe YOU more?” He asked sarcasticly.
The black and white cat growled and sighed.
“I would advice you to remove our friend from the park” Arid half growled. “Before he snaps, and before Don knows that there are bugs in his territory.”
Silvester grinned again.
“You enjoy that while you can Arid...” He menaced and turned away.
The yellow cat smiled and went back to Glacier.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Glacier dug in his pocket to find that amount, eventually finding it two quarters and enough dimes and nickels to make up the rest. He set them on the hotdog stand, never once making eye contact with the hotdog seller there. He took the hotdog, stepping aside from the stand and facing away from the cat there after he had mumbled a quiet thank you. Now he just had to wait for Arid to show up again.
He kept his ears down against his head now as his blue eyes scanned back and forth at the cats coming and going along their way. He tried not to stare at anyone in particular for very long, afraid they would notice him watching. His tail curled close at his side.
His ears perked up and forward slightly when he thought he could see Arid amongst the others, but he remained where he was, simply holding the hotdog the cat had requested.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Arid smiled and wipped off his serious expression to remplace it with his usual unpreocupied and easy-going one, not long after he reached his young companion and smiled at him.
“Greatly done” He said taking his meal, he wasn’t hungry but he had to play along. “Now, two dollars, right?” He asked and paid the kid the quantity as he resumed the patrol while eating his hotdog, looking for the world like a distracted cop who couldn’t shot a gun to save his life. “Let’s go alright”
He really didn’t want any of the sides to see the kit, overall not with the danger of them recognicing his ear tattoo... which remainded him that he would have to tell the kit about it in a not so far future.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Glacier didn’t say much upon Arid’s return. He did nod to confirm that two dollars was right, before realizing what he had said was, well on the contrary wrong. “Er, well one.” He mumbled, not all that concerned with giving the money back right then. After all, he was apparently living with the cat now, he could always set it on the table when they got back or something.
Glacier was, of course oblivious to what any of Arid’s concerns or current thoughts. The white and black kit simply remained quiet from that point on. Yeah he had had the coffee and that had woke him up some but he was still…generally tired enough to be unconcerned with thinking things through too deeply at the moment. His mind wandered briefly--he didn't see their current walk as all that important so he figured he could spare a few moments of thought.
Again, it wasn't anything significant or deep, just momentary unimportant mind wanderings. He blinked it away after a few moments, reminding himself to take this job seriously and do his best.

Re: Obscured Avenues (for MR AZ)
Arid knew perfectly how much a hot dog costed, but he wanted the kit to have something more, a kind of tip for not moving, he was still very wary of other criminals seeing the kit’s tattooed ear, which reminded him that he should talk to him that soon...
Oh well, maybe later.
He glanced at his young companion, the kit was tired and that was noticeable, he allowed him to .
“Come on” He said a few blocks later once they had reached the limit of the territory they had to cover. “We’ll see how things are going in the park” He motioned as he walked back.
