Races
Humans - Humans live in heavily fortified cities and defend them using early industrial era technology. They dare not stray too far away from the walls of the city unless they are in large convoys due to the threat of attack by the virani. Humans have a constant need for coal and oil which they obtain from the forests and natural habitats around them. The fortified cities are independent and relationships between the cities vary.
Virani - Virani live in the forests and natural habitats. Some live as hunter/gatherers, while some live in elaborate cities built into the natural habitat. Virani fight using blades as well as mystical weapons which only a few can control. Virani are organized into independent clans which usually have a good relationship with the others. The virani are wary of the resource gathering by the humans. They often will attack human caravans, but rarely will they approach cities due to their cannons.
Outsiders - a humanoid race that only recently appeared in the world. Within a week of their arrival they began attacking and conquering weaker human cities. They fight using incredibly hard armor as well as blades. They kill most of these cities' populace and enslave the others. They began razing forests where the virani live. Their goals are unknown. There are non-militant Outsiders, but they are treated as hostiles by both humans and virani.
Places
Gildvar - the largest city in the world. In this city alone there live both virani and human citizens. While there are many tensions, the city is dedicated to promoting interracial peace.
The Defense Academy - An academy where both virani and humans train to provide troops for city defense, peace keeping missions, and war against the Outsiders.
Carroven - A large human city. A large minority of this population is pushing for outright war with the Virani.
Lesaka - Largest virani city, located in the forest. The clan's patriarch does not wish for violence against the humans, but younger troops defy him.
The Northern Plains - This region is currently controlled by the Outsiders. There is a civilian town of Kon located within.
Timeline
Year
0 - War between humans and virani begin
18 - a peace treaty is signed calling for the disarmament of both sides. The city of gildvar and its academy are built to promote racial peace.
19 - the treaty is broken by the virani who attack coal gatherers. There is no open war, but skirmishes resume
48 - Virani become more aggressive and a few begin attacking the human city walls
48 - Outsiders arrive on Caloka. They conquer the northern most territories
49 - humans invent the Collosal Cannon which has the firepower to destroy a city. It is stationed in Carroven.
