Ariana sighed as she finally reached what she was looking for: the Poke Mart. Saffron City was just too big for her to figure out. It felt like she'd been dragging her feet around in circles for at least an hour. It didn't help that she was no good at taking directions.

The 18-year-old ran a hand through her blonde hair and walked towards the Poke Mart, hoping they would have enough Potions and Poke Balls in stock.

If Ariana was expecting the Poke Mart to be a quiet respite from the busy city, she would be sorely disappointed. Loud shouts came from within the building, followed by the door slamming open and a small figure in a hoodie with their arms filled to the brim with unused Poke Balls bolting out into the road as fast as possible.

"HEY! THIEF! GET BACK HERE!" shouted a Poke Mart employee from behind, tripping over toppled shelves, Pokemon tools, and all sorts of other junk.

The bandit was high tailing it as fast as they could away from the mart in the open, ducking between people on the street and leaving a small trail of stolen property falling behind them and out of their arms.

"POLICE! HELP! SOMEBODY STOP THAT KID!"

Ariana hardly had time for the surprise to register in her blue eyes and mind. She quickly looked around, eyes scanning for the police; but none seemed to be on their way.

She rolled her eyes, as it looked like it was to be left to her. She got a Poke Ball from her bag and unleashed the Pokemon inside.

"Ivysaur, use your vines to get that thief!" Ariana ordered, pointing her finger.

Ivysaur instantly obeyed her trainer, shooting her vines towards the thief and catching them by their feet.

"WAH!"

The thief suddenly went flying onto their face, causing all of her loot to go scattering about the street.

"LEMMIE GO! GET OFF OF ME!" came shouts from the victim, sounding that of a young girl around 10-11 years of age. The hooded figure turned around to try and release her feet from the vines, but to no avail.

"GO AWAY! LEAVE ME ALONE YOU BIG MEANIE!"

Ariana approached the girl, hands on her hips and shaking her head. "Really, this just won't do at all." She reached and got a tight grip on the girl's wrist. "Ivysaur, release her." Ivysaur unwrapped her vines. "Now then, what do you think you're doing?" Ariana demanded of the girl, her tone stern.

The girl sniffled angrily from under her hood. "Get away from me... you wouldn't understand. I gotta get out of this stupid city, and I can't do that without a Pokemon... so just let me go!" she said, struggling and trying her hardest to pry her captor's hand from her wrist.

There was a bit of a crowd drawing around the pair, as this girl was struggling to escape this random older girl's grip. The Poke mart employee ran around trying to reclaim his merchandise, which was pretty hard from the sheer number of Pokeballs scattered around

"I woulda gotten away too, now I'm in trouble! You jerk! Let go of me!" she said, giving a swift kick to Ariana's shin in an attempt to get her wrist released.

Ariana winced and bit her lip to deal with the sharp pain. "You do that again..." she growled out, but not enough so that she would scare the girl, "and you'll regret it. Is that clear? Besides, you look too young to be arrested so you're hardly in big trouble."

"What do you care?! You already have a Pokemon! Just... just go away!!" she said, taking her free fist and smacked it against Ariana's hand. "You're not my Mom! Go away, you meanie!"

She squirmed and struggled, doing whatever she thought she could to get away from her captor... which really meant just stomping her feet and throwing weak punches and kicks and throwing a right tantrum in the street.

"If I was your mother, you would have been raised better than this," Ariana snarled. "I'm going to give you one more chance to calm down. If you don't, I am going to give you something to really get upset about."

The girl stopped her tantrum, and looked at Ariana straight in the eyes with a glare that would make an Arbok blush.

"You wouldn't DARE."

And then she sealed her fate, rearing back her head and spitting at Ariana's face!
