A demon butler´s duty

A little 8 year old girl was strolling down a big long corridor. She had shoulderlong brown hair, grey blue eyes as was a bit small for her age. She wore elegant clothes, but it were boys clothes. She wore shorts that reached to her knees, socks that reached to her knees as well and shiney black leather shoes on her feet. She wore a white shirt and a vest over it. She also had a nice big bow around her neck. Chocolate was smeared around her mouth and she grinned cheekily.

That tomboy was actually the heir of a noble and rich family. The only heir they had in fact...This was Alexsandra Catherine, Duchess of Wellington. Though she prefered to be called by her short form Sandy only. Her parents died, assassinated by unknown people and for unknown reasons. As she was their only heir, and no male heir had been found, she was granted the title of Duchess. Queen Victoria had a heart for children and she ensured that the young child would get financial securities and care with the accordance of the title. To gain full control over the family fortune however, Sandy had to wait until she was 18 years. (or 21 I need to research the adult age)

She had been an orphan since she had been 6 years old, but she was not alone, as someone very special stood at her side...her personal butler (and sometimes nanny so to speak), Claude Faustus. Claude was no ordinary butler like it seemed. He was in fact a demon and had been summoned by Sandy and concluded a contract with him....

Sebastian Michaelis was preparing tea for his young mistress. As everything the black haired demon butler did, it was supposed to be perfect. He took care of his little lady as he promised to protect her. And as her personal butler and tutor and because of the contract they formed, Sebastian would make sure that his young mistress would be served like she deserved.

He put the tea cup, the pot, the dessert dishes and the cake on a tea tray and made his way to the little lady´s room.

Claude never truly enjoyed children, but Sandy seemed to be almost an exception. It seemed as if he had a soft spot for the small girl.

"Gotten into more sweets, I see," Claude said in his monotonous tone upon seeing the chocolate around her mouth.


Annabelle Miche was a relatively lanky and skinny girl, weird because her favourite hobby was shoving her own brand of candy down her throat. She had curled blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. Currently she was sleeping soundly in her big light pink bed. She cuddled into her fluffy pillow and sighed in her sleep.

Indeed Sandy had sneaked into the kitchen and got hold of the chocolate cake Claude had actually prepared for Tea...She was a sweet tooth and often stuffed herself with cookies, cake or chocolate, which resulted in stomach aches and...sugar high, which made her more naughty.

Sandy was a tomboy and a real little troublemaker. She was still a child but the head of a noble family nonetheless and thus she should at least learn and know how to behave properly. However Sandy tended to be a spoilt brat sometimes and threw regular temper tantrums. Except for Claude, she didn´t like anyone since she had been alone. No one else than Claude was also allowed to get near her. She liked Claude, one could say she even loved him like a...father somehow, but she didn´t tell as she wasn´t sure if that was a good thing.

As she heard his voice she jumped. She stopped in her tracks and turned to him, crossing her arms. "Hmm..I do what I want Claude, because I´m the master here! So if I want something sweet and you don´t get it for me I will serve myself...that´s how things work here in my house!" the little imp said.

Sebastian tried to hide the candy and everything unhealthy. But Annabelle was somehow able to get some, no matter where he hid the things. Fourtunately it didn´t affect her health directly, but it often spoiled her apetite and he also had to make sure her teeth wouldn´t get affected by the huge amounts of sugar she managed to get inside her little mouth...

Sebastian knocked, he entered, opened the courtains and said: "Time to begin your day my young mistress." He got the pot and tea cup and filled it. "This morning´s Tea is some chinese black leaf Tea with milk and a lump of sugar, how you like it best my lady." he said and put the cup on the nightdesk

Claude sighed at the little girl. This was most definitely no way for an heiress to behave, nor a well adjusted young lady. "The cake was intended for tea Alexsandra," he said in a stern tone. "You were not to eat it until so. And I do truly believe that you shouldn't be talking to the one who cares for you in such a childish way." He was in a no nonsense mood today.

"Mmph," Anna groaned, burying her pale face in her pillow. "`m tired, Sebastiannnnn..." She yawned, her eyes shut tight, curled up on her stomach.

Sandy heard what he said and growled. "Don´t call me like that!" she didn´t like her full name. He mostly used it when he was really unhappy. "And I´m not childish! If you did it for tea it doesn´t matter if I eat it NOW or LATER!" She frowned at him and looked up to the tall bespectacled man.

Sebastian looked at her. "Well it is time to wake up now young mistress. I did after all sent you to bed early yesterday...unless you got up again to read or wander around?" he raised an eyebrow. Anna was after all still a child and he knew her antics by now.

"It does matter, Alexsandra," he insisted on calling her by her full name. "You will spoil your appetite if you eat sweets so early." He informed her.

She opened one blue eye to look at him and smirked -- something she only did when she was being mischievous. "Maybe I did and maybe I didn't," she responded.

Sandy ran towards him and hit with her little fists against him. "I SAID DON´T CALL ME THAT!" she shouted and frowned up to him. "I give the orders here! I do!" she said and threw a little tantrum, because this clearly didn´t went how she liked.

Even if Sandy was Claude´s mistress...their contract included her well being and education. It was also his duty to ensure that as her butler and tutor.

Sebastian sighed. "How troublesome my lady." he said and saw her little smirk and mischievous look. "Getting out of bed after I put you in is naughty young lady. As your butler I have to make sure you will stay safe and healthy and this includes your sleeping habits. Lack of sleep is unhealthy and if naughtyness is the reason behind it then I have to do something against that."

Claude caught her little fists and knelt down, holding them gently to her sides. "Now my highness, your behavior is atrocious. You know I'm only stern with you because I am entitled to care about you."

Anna`s eyes narrowed at this, having a pretty good idea of what he had in mind. "Sebastian..." Her tone was low.

Little Sandy quite liked that he called her highness. It made her feel important a bit. But still even if Claude tried to reason with her, she was still a little stubborn girl in need of a firm hand. "My behaviour is just fine! I can do whatever pleases me! A..and you don´t need to be stern with me, because I order you to do so!" But even if this was an order...it wouldn´t work as this order would go against the contract rules and so Claude could simply ignore it.

"Yes young mistress?" he looked at her stern, holding her look. "If I wouldn´t care for your wellbeing and make sure that you will take your rest at night time and allow you to stay up until way too late, what kind of a butler would I be?"

"That would go against our contract, my darling." He held onto her hand firmly, now intent to teach her a lesson in manners. "Come along, Sandy." He proceeded to lead her down the hall towards her room.


Her upper lip twitched and she sat up in her bed. "A normal one?"
