My name is Laurence and I've been roleplaying around the internet in various places for quite some time, though I never realized this site had a forum dedicated to RP! I'll edit this post later but I figured I'd list some things I prefer/don't prefer and some ideas I like to explore.
Prefs:
Adults 18+ at least. I don't mind age differences and sub/dom, but I prefer not to play kids.
I play as dom or sub. I find both intriguing from certain angles so I'm fine with either.
My favorite pairings in order are M/M, F/F, or F/M (with the male as the submissive party)
I like discipline, bdsm, sadism and masochism and punishments as plots for not just spanking, but for relationships as well. This includes romantic or other close bonds (like master/slave or master/pet) including these elements.
For spanking implements I'm all over the place. My favorites are leather: belt, strap, crops, leather whips. But I also enjoy rulers, switches, wooden implements, common items as whips/spankers, and canes. Hand spankings are great too. I'm also into other bdsm items such as restraints and clamps. I'm fine with rough scenes and sadistic/cruel dom characters.
Genres I like best are: fantasy, science fiction, historical, as well as some AU characters. I prefer original characters to fandom characters mostly, although I do make exceptions. I just tend to like really obscure series and characters that most people don't know about.
I really prefer paragraph style rp. It doesn't have to be 10 paragraphs, but 1-3 at least is better for me. I find it difficult to reply to the 'one to two sentence' type and I find it rewarding to build character thoughts and write description in paragraph style.
I'm not really fond of the scenario 'Character A acts like a complete brat until Character B smacks them around, correcting Character A's behavior' type of plot. I'll do it as part of a larger plot if it comes up, but it just doesn't ping me as much as other things.
I like all kinds of scenarios: Some I've been thinking about lately are:
Character is an assassin/thief/spy and is caught/enslaved by their target.
Character once betrayed other character and feels guilty, runs into them years later, and offers themselves for punishment.
Character is a stern, cruel type of person under a lot of pressure from his own position and work, and needs a slave or pet to vent some of their sadism with.
Relationship that seems one way and is actually another. For instance, a Master and a Slave as society sees it, but behind closed doors the 'slave' is actually the 'master.'
Characters are enemies and manage to 'catch' one another occasionally to dish out a little pain.
Slave character has done/is doing something terrible under the Master's nose, and either admits it or it's found out some other way.
Runaway slave! Where the master catches and punishes them.
...and many more, that I'm sure I'll think of and add later. I'm always open to/curious about new scenarios too, these are just some of the things I like. Mind games and physical/emotional pain are favorites of mine. I like complexity when it comes to relationships and emotions.
