Xearouse was sitting out by the Breakstone Lake watching the sun set far off in the horizon, such wonderful golds, magentas, and violets painted the sky around the amber sun across the shimmering azure lake.
The breeze blew across the verdant meadow like slow beating pattern of waves on a sea shore, as soft singing of birds as they settled down for the coming night fill the air. Xearouse laid back in the grass enjoying every bit of the wonderful living painting that surrounded him. he had almost fallen a sleep in his brisk day dream.

Xearouse's day dream however was short lived as a small shadow loomed over him. Standing above him, her ears perked up in curiosity was the youngest living resident of Xavier's school for Gifted Children. Kira Shirosenshi was only about six or seven years old, no one was sure as she was mute. Not by birth though, her vocal cords were in perfectly fine condition, but she hadn't spoken to anyone since the violent fire that took her parents from her. They just figured she was somewhere close to that since she was too bright to be four but too small to be eight.

Dressed in a orange jumper and white turtle neck shirt, Kira leaned over him and wait for his eyes to open, her white with purple stripped tiger's tail swishing behind her in impatience while her bright agua blue eyes looked down at him. A few stray rays of sunlight peeked there her thick chestnut hair. The moment Xearouse looked at her, she plopped down next to him in the sand, and looked peeved at her feet. She was wearing a pair of lace white socks and red sneakers. The sand had 'leaked' into them. Never the less she turned and signed to him.

"What are you doing?" She often went to seek the others out, either to play with or company. On an average she spent time near Logan but she was hiding slightly from him today. She was flaking out of her homework as of late. "Can I join you?"

Xearouse nodded lightly sitting up from his lush bed of grass. He was fifteen with a lithe figure and wore dark apparel, normally earth tones. his face was speckled atop his smooth creamy skin. his eyes held a dark shade of sapphire and his hair was auburn with a few highlights
"Why did you come out here?" he asked with his calm voice as soft as summer rain

Kira could do many things given her size. As unbelievable as it would sound she was an excelllent hider (except if Logan or Hank were looking for her, they would just sniff her out), and for a short period of time she could be very fast too, and although they were small, she had a set of needle sharp claws and teeth to defend herself with. Of course sshe had learned quickly never to use them on 'the family' being anyone at the institution.

However what she wasn't good at was hidding her emmtions. If her body language and face didn't give her away, her ears and tail would.

Just like now.

Her ars dropped into a upset or guilty form against her hair and avoided his eyes.

"Oh.... nothing. Just neded air," She signed to him, not really meeting his eyes. She made a few fast signs, too fast to be read before he could reconized her sign for Kurt. "Kurt's being boring. He wouldn't play with me. Says he has to go practic in the Danger Room.
I wanna go to but he won't let me..."

Her ears flicked slightly back, a tell tale sign that she was annoyed by this or angry. She let out a small growl, about the only sound she could make other then a pur or a weak 'ah' sound.

"It's not fair! I'm strong too!"

Xearouse chuckled slightly standing "Its almost dinner time... we should start back" he gently place a hand on the girls head giving her a few light pats

Kira looked up at him and frowned. Sometimes she honestly hated being 'mute'. It made talking to the others difficult and troublesome. Especially when she felt they weren't really 'listening' to her.

"You're not listening," she maked the signs just fast enough so that he could read them but still showing her frustration. The first three months at the instatution hadn't been fun for her. No one had known any sign language including herself and she was force to write everything down. Whatever her age was, her handwritting had been and still sort of was, horrible. Sighing visibly like any child would, Kira sulked lightly and stood up, brushing the sand off her rear. "Never mind...."

She was use to it. Scott was one of the X-men members that could barely understand her signs when he talked to her. She would go too fast for him but she had gotten so use to communicating that way, that a conversation with him often turned into a game of 572 questions. t was annoying to say the lest.

She walked next to Xearouse back the manor, her ears still a little back and her face showing her discontentment. She then stopped at tugged his sleeve.

"Why is I'm the only one not allowed in that room anyway without someone else?" Appearently she was still hung up on that fact that Kurt wouldn't take her allong into the Danger Room. "You're allowed in there so why can't I?"

"I'm only allowed in there when I'm training and I need some one with me too." he said with a gentle smile looking down on her

Kira rolled her eyes at him, still sulking. It wasn't a secret, the older mutants had more privledges then she did. It was only natural of course. True they weren't alone in the danger Room but they didn't always need an adult like Logan or Jean or urt in the battle area with them. Sometimes they adults would just sit in the observatory and watch them. Kira had to have an adult in with her and if it didn't insult her a little bit more, she wasn't allow to train on anything above level three. It made her feel babied sometimes even if level two alone was fairly hard to do with help. After all the Danger Room isn't a playground.


"What do you think we're having tonight for dinner?" She finally asked as they neared the building. "I hope it's no liver and spinach, yuck!"

Kira was in general not a picky eater, she had learned the hard way not to whine about the food. Still she hated the favor of liver and how the spinach would get stuck in her teeth.

"I think we are having pasta" he said happily. No one had really seen what ability's he possessed besides seeming to always be happy. some could compare what he had as something like multiple personalities. "MMM I can already taste that deliciouses garlic bread..." he said as he sniffed the air an his pointed ear perked up

David was in the observation tower, watching somebody lost in the hedge maze try to get out. An evil little laugh bubbled from his chest and he turned away. He walked down the stairs and ran into two other students, Kira and Xearouse. He nodded a hello and waited for them to walk by first. David was a shy creature...
