Default Skyrim :: Two brothers - W1nchester

It had been three days since the Dragon attack in Helgen. It was terrifying, houses were burned down and it left many civilians homeless. Two of those homeless civilians being Altar and Dulatus Stoneshield. The eldest brother, eighteen year old Dulatus had helped fight the Dragon and had absorbed some sort of soul, making him Dragon born.

He was told to visit the Jarl of Whiterun to see about a quest and also to purchase property on the land so Altar and Dulatus could have a home. "Duli, we've been walking for miles...why couldn't we just steal a Horse?" the nine year old whined, climbing over another set of rocks before noticing a Giant's camp in the distance.

They always made him both nervous and curious. "Why can't I see the giants up close?" he asked curiously.

Dulatus turned to his younger brother as he whined, complaining about walking for so long. He knew that this was a long journey, but he didn't feel himself growing tired. If anything, he felt... strong. Durable. He tilted his head some, green eyes flashing in the sunlight. "Because we would get caught if we stole a horse. And we don't need a bounty on us. Prison isn't very fun." He answered, offering his own commentary before he followed his brother's eyesight.

He frowned, on edge. "Because they could step on you and crush you." He answered the little boy, deciding another course of direction was needed. He nudged the boy into turning, taking a different path towards Whiterun. "Don't even think about running off to them, Altar." He warned the boy. "I'll find a stick and whip you with it." He said, his words sounding near-abusive, but the kid was sure to know that his elder brother would only ever take an implement to his bottom and the back of his thighs.

Young Altar pouted some at that, "I hardly ever get caught, thieving is the one thing I'm good at." he told his older brother and then looked back over to the Giants when Dultarus said that could step on him and crush him. "That would be bad." he murmured and turned his similar green gaze back onto him when he threatened to whip him if he ran off to them. He paled at the threat.

"Yes sir..." he answered, following him along an alternate path. Eventually they made it into Whiterun and Altar looked around curiously, "Can I stay here while you go to Dragon's Reach?" he asked, looking back and up at his much taller brother.

"Well, food is one thing. An entire living horse is another. Even you couldn't get away with that, little one." Dulatus said, before threatening the curious little boy with a whipping if he decided to run off to go see those giants. "Good boy." He said as he answered him, and they finally got to Whiterun. He headed in after honestly telling the guard why they were here, and he looked back to Altar again.

"Fine. You keep to the main parts of town. If I have to come find you, it will not be pleasant." He told him, taking him to the big tree in the midst of the city, benches all around it and he eyed the steps to Dragonsreach. "And don't go messing with The Companions." He advised. "I don't think they would be all that understanding if you did anything naughty in their presence." He said, ruffling his hair before he headed up to Dragonsreach to do his own business.

Altar followed him along to the tree and sat down on one of the benches. His green eyes sparked mischievously when he mentioned the companions. He bet they had tons of loot, just waiting for a crafty child to steal. "Yes sir." he answered, waiting until Dulatus was out of his sight and then he headed up to the Companions meet.

He snuck in through one of the windows and headed downstairs to where the rooms were, staying quiet and low, the boy tiptoed into a room belonging to a man named Farkas. He started going through his wardrobe and end table, grinning when he found some gold.

"I mean it." He said once again before he went ahead and left, planning to make his trip short so his little brother wouldn't get into too much trouble.

While he did that, Farkas was... well, he wasn't really doing anything. Vilkas had told him to make himself useful, but everything was already being done. So he ate food, mostly. Until he saw something small creeping downstairs, while the others were in the midst of watching Njada and Athis fight. He followed after the small boy and was led right to his own room.

He rose a brow. "A little thief, are you?" He called, voice deep and loud. "What exactly do you think you're doing?"

Altar jumped and spun round, facing an angry companion when he asked what he thought he was doing. He didn't really have an answer that wouldn't get him in trouble. He glanced over to the open door way and then tried to make a run for it, hoping to get to his older brother because even though he'd probably whoop him for this, he would keep him out of jail.

The Jarl of Whiterun looked at Dulatus with a scrutinizing gaze. "If you are truly Dragonborn, then it was you who the greybeards were summoning. Go to the Greybeards, they will help you learn to use your voice." he told him and then went about his business.

Farkas easily scooped up the child as he tried to just bolt past him and escape without any consequences. Farkas grunted at that and went to his bed, taking a seat and holding the child between his legs, grip firm.

"When I was a child, if I had stolen something from someone, I would had gotten a serious beating from my brother and he would make me get a beating from whoever I stole from." Farkas said, voice grave and he pulled the kid over his knee, slapping the bottom firmly. "Do you have anyone that you live with? Or are you an orphan?"

Dulatus faced the Jarl of Whiterun, his expression stone cold. "Thank you, sir. I will definitely do that." He answered him before being dismissed and he headed back to find his brother, that thought in mind. He looked around to see if little Altar was around, but didn't see the boy. He groaned and looked around the areas he figured he would be before the elder kid hissed in frustration and he went towards the Companion's home and knocked on the door, figuring the little brat had came in here because he had told him not to.

Altar yelped as he was suddenly scooped up and carried over to the man's bed, "Let me go! Release me!" he snapped before then finding himself over the man's knee. "No! You cannot thrash me!" he snapped and yelped loudly at the first smack, it definitely hurt. "I-I...I live with my big brother, Dulatus. He lets me steal from places..." he told him honestly even though his big brother had told him not to steal from the Companions.

"Oww! Stop that!"

Vilkas got up and answered the door, raising a dark brow when he saw Dulatus, "And what do you want?"

"Oh, I believe that I can. You're not exactly big enough to stop me." Farkas told him as he was told that he couldn't thrash the boy. He had swatted him firmly and then rose a brow at what he had to say. "Oh, really?" He asked, smacking his bottom again, just as firm as the last. "Perhaps your eldest brother needs a thrashing as well." He said, smacking each cheek once and then again once in the middle.

Dulatus looked up at the imposing, dark man in wolf armor. He looked up to him, the kid almost as tall as him, but not quite. "I think my kid brother wandered into here." He said, not phased at all by the intimidating man. "I came to reclaim him."
