An Immortal's antics
The Doctor sighed as he finished his novel, placing it on the table to his side. He was in the console room, in a leather armchair near his booksheleves, feeling very uneasy. A certain little friend of his was out of his sight, and that meant he was unaware of what mischief he may be getting up to.
As a full grown man, Captain Jack Harness had been very irritating, if a good friend. At the age of ten years old, he was twice as irritating, if less inclined to flirt with other beings, alien or otherwise. Shaking his head, he rose to his feet and went in search of Jack.

Thankfully, Jack Harkness' memory had been wiped of his life before being ten years old, otherwise he may have been a very depressed child indeed. He was a cheeky little scamp with a bright eyed grin and a knack for getting into trouble, as The Doctor knew very well. The TARDIS had landed on the planet Luxifray and Jack was ready to go exploring.
Of course, he couldn't until the Doctor was ready. He wanted to finish his novel and Jack was not impressed. The boy managed to slip out the TARDIS doors and ran along the sandy floors of this new and exciting world. There didn't seem to be any life forms around but Jack figured it was best not to hold off that possibility for now.
He came across a waterfall, flowing golden waters and he smiled, sitting down and enjoying the view.

The Doctor scowled as he hunted through the TARDIS. Where had the wee rascal got too? Placing a hand on the TARDIS console, he concentrated deeply, interfacing with the mind of the TARDIS herself. Sweeping the entire structure, with the help of the TARDIS, his scowl deepened as he could not detect Jack anywhere on board. Shaking his head, he cracked open the doors and strode across the sands of the planet they had landed on.

Jack relaxed on the soft grass and watched the golden waters fall from what seemed like the heavens, this was so much better than being on that boring old chrome TARDIS, at least this place had a bit of colour to it. He didn't think the Doctor would even notice him missing, since he was so ensnared in his novel.
The boy then stood, took off his shirt and shorts so that he was just in his boxers, the boy then leapt into the honey coloured water and swam around.

Coming across a waterfall, the Doctor narrowed his eyes as he saw the pile of clothing by the water, and Jack swimming around. Putting a hand in his pocket, he pulled out a neatly folded towel, disentangling it from the thousands of objects he already had in there. Pockets with separate dimensions were very useful to have. Watching Jack's swim, he waited for him to tire of being in the water.

Jack swam around for a while, without noticing The Doctor and then pulled himself up onto the grassy bank, eyes widening when he saw the time lord standing there with the towel. "Oh...uh....hey Doc..." he greeted sheepishly.

Fuming, the Doctor handed Jack the towel, arms folded as the boy dried himself. Once he was dressed again, the Doctor crouched slightly, putting his hands on Jack's shoulders. He said sternly:
"Jack, you need to be more sensible! Do you have any idea how worried I was when I couldn't find you? I don't mind if you want to explore the places that we land, but make sure you tell me first so that I can go with you!"

Jack whined a bit and looked down, he hated being scolded for things, especially by the Doctor because he could be so scary and stern at times. "It doesn't matter, it's not like I can die or anything..." he explained with a nonchalant shrug.

The Doctor sighed.
"Jack, that isn't the point. What would happen if someone kidnapped you or something? Or stopped you getting back to the TARDIS? you would be stuck!"

Jack shrugged, trying not to make a big deal out of it, "I could live here, I'd be fine." he huffed and turned away from the Doctor, "You just never let me have any fun because you're a boring old grown up!"
