Unusual approach (for LittleSayuri)

Sandy Hoffman was looking out of the window. It was evening and the lights of New York were eluminating the surroundings. She could still see the cars and taxis rushing by followed by police sirens or firetruck noises.

She was 26 and working as a graphic designer for a big company. Was she happy with her life? Well sometimes she wished that she had more excitement or at least nice male encounters but it seemed that she was hopelessly lost in her shyness and the fact that she attracted the creeps and assholes rather than gentlemen.

Steve Rogers was in the S.H.I.E.L.D training center boxing a bit to get some energy off.
Mrs. Hill came and reached him a dossier. "What is this?" "Mr. Fury said you should take a look. This young person might be of interest for us."

Steve sat down and looked at the papers. A young woman, very talented...potential apprentice. This was Fury's handwriting. Hmm. Steve was intrigued. Who was she? Could she be an apprentice.

"Tell Mr. Fury that I want to see her in the morning." He said.

Another person was looking at New Yorks lights as well. He heard the same sounds Sandy did, but unless her, he was even more frustrated. He had been thrown out of Asgard, by his so called father. Odin. As far as it looked like, he would need to stay here for a few years...or decades...who knew? Odin was touchy sometimes...

Not knowing where to go, the man went into a coffee shop. He had a bit of money and sat down to drink something. A waitress came over to him, cocking her head. "Sir, don't I know you from somewhere? What's your name?", she asked. A small smile appeared on the man's face and he looked up at her. "My name is Loki..."

How did that all happen? Sam didn't knew it. She only remembered that she went jogging in the central park. At night, which wasn't smart as she found out. A few men tried to steal her wallet and wanted to abuse and rape her. So Sam showed them her powers as well as her strenght, which made them run away quickly -as quickly as they could once she was done with them at least- and suddenly this black guy came over to her and started talking to her. She didn't know much about him but she noticed that he was one of the good guys. That was the reason why she followed him to the S.H.I.E.L.D Headquarters.

And here she was now, sitting in a room that looked like a hostel room. She was supposed to wait here, but Sam wasn't the patient type, so she stood up and opened her door, to take a look around.

Sandy retired for the night. She had no work the next day but would still go and have a walk theough the city as she liked to visit shops or look around when she didn't had to work.

After a little breakfast she got herself ready and went out, preparing herself for a usual day in Mew York. At least she thought so.

Now and then she would look at some windows, enter a shop to look around or just walk.

Steve was intrigued and retired late after his workout as he usually did.
The next day he prepared himself to greet Sam.

Mr. Furt got the call from Hill and was about to tell Sam the plan. "Well seems like you're a curious one. Tomorrow you will meet Capt. America...I am sure your potential is in good hands with him."
He showed Sam a room where she could sleep.

The next morning she waa brought to the new S.H.I.E.L.D hq.

The city was crowded and lively as everyday. People walked through the streets fast and concentrated, a few looking at their smartphones while they did so. Tourists walked by slowly, looking up into the sky every now and then to wonder about the huge buildings. Loki walked past all of them as if they wouldn't exist. He had other problems than these people, more important problems.

Luckily, he was able to "convince" people with his powers to do things he wanted them to, like the owner of the hotel last night as he needed a place to sleep. This couldn't go on forever though, he needed to find a place to stay constantly. Somewhere, where nobody would recognize him...

Thinking about it, Loki looked around. He noticed a person nearby that was looking at the shopping windows. She seemed relaxed. Curiously, Loki walked over to her, to wonder what was so interesting about starring through a window.

Sam's little stroll didn't last long, as she got caught by Fury pretty quickly. "Well...if you say so...", she mumbled and blushed slightly. She liked Captain America, he was an old fashioned hero after all, the type she liked. Fury lead her back to her room and she decided to go to sleep.

The next morning came way too early in her opinion and Sam turned around in her bed with a sigh. Suddenly, she remembered what happened and jumped out of bed to get ready. She would meet him! She would really meet him! Excited, the girl took a shower and dried her hair. She brushed her teeth, put on some make up and looked into the mirror. Even with make up she looked rather young. She was 20 years old but looked younger. Her brown eyes started shining as she was brought to the new HQ of S.H.I.E.L.D. Everything looked so... Important!

The girl was brought into a trainingroom and looked around. Nobody except her was here and Sam felt safe for a moment. She looked around and spotted a bottle with water. Slowly, she opened the bottle and put it on the ground. Then, she concentrated and the water slowly flew out of the bottle and into her direction. She drew a pattern with it into the sky and looked at it with a small smile.

Sandy looked at the books that were in the window. They were quite interesting. maybe she should have a look. She entered the shop, not noticing the dark haired God who came up to her. She looked through the shelves and sometimes took a book out. As she let her look wander around the shop, she suddenly noticed him. She had never seen someone like him before.

Steve was on time as was Fury. He reported that Sam was waiting for him. He got in and saw her using her talents. "Very intersting to see them in real." He said to her, hoping she wasn't afraid.
He gave her a moment and reached his hand out. "Steve Rogers. And you are Sam right?" He smiled at her

Loki blinked confused as the girl suddenly disappeared. He followed her with his eyes and a short smile spread across his face. Without knowing why he did it, he followed her into the store and looked around a bit. Midgard was a confusing and interesting place he decided, as he read a few booktitles. He didn't understand the whole concept about the "money" as they called it, but maybe he could ask the girl he followed.

As he looked around to check if she was still in the store, he noticed that she was staring at him.

Self-confident, he walked over to her. "Hey, I have a question, maybe you can help me with it", he started calmly and waited until the human girl nodded. "I am new on midgard and I don't understand this 'money-concept', can you explain it for me?", he asked politely, ignoring that a few people stared at him for what he just said. His question was normal for somebody like him, so he didn't understand the staring at all to be honest.

Sam winced as she suddenly heard a voice behind her. With a SPLASH! the water fell down on the ground, forming a puddle. Blushing, she turned to Steve and smiled shyly as she shook his hand. "Nice to meet you Mr. Rogers. I am Sam, or Samantha, but I prefer Sam", she said and nodded.
"Just a moment, I will clean this mess up", she added, turned around again and let the water wander back into the bottle slowly and carefully. "You shouldn't drink this anymore...", she mumbled, still slightly embarrassed and put the bottle aside. With a knowing gaze, she looked around shortly. "I heard that they asked you to train me.", she started carefully and looked up at him. Geez, he was indeed a big guy... "...what exactly do they want you to show me?", she added curiously. "And why?"

Sandy couldn't turn her gaze off him. He even approached her. Sandy blinked as she heard his question. Midgard? Midgard...that sounded familiar and still. Oh maybe he came from a very foreign country or he was a nutcase. "Ehm well, you have the price here and you go to the cash desk to pay..this is how we do it here..from where are you?" She asked him. Maybe he was interesting or she would regret asking.

Steve smiled. "Don't worry about it. I am sorry for startling you." He heard her questions and sat down with her. "Well Mr. Fury gave me a dossier about you. S.H.I.E.L.D is a secret service that protects the country and the world. We are always looking for talented men and women to integrate our team. Without them protection wouldn't work.
You would be my apprentice. I would train you in combat skills and we'll see about your skills. However you have the choice to say yes or no."

At least the girl didn't tell him to get lost, so far so good. Loki cocked his head slightly and listened to her. "I understand that, but where do you get this...money from?", he asked, answering her question afterwards: "I am not from this world..."
He bowed slightly into her direction and said: "My name is Loki, nice to meet you. Maybe we can go somewhere else and continue talking? A few midgardians seem to be confused by our conversation", he said and smiled at her charmingly, hoping that she wouldn't run away from him after what he said. Maybe she would believe him, even if his story was kinda unbelievable, but Loki had the feeling that this girl was special, and not like other midgardians.

"So, you want me to become a part of your team?", Sam repeated and looked at him with big eyes. "That is...wow...I uhm... wow", she said, slightly overstrained and blushed again. She would get time with Captain America! Alone! And she would maybe become a part of the Avengers! How cool was that?! "I uhm...first of all: YES! I want to try it", she said and smiled excited at him, her face all red. "Wait", she suddenly said and looked at Steve. "There is one problem...I am just done with highschool and started college, I even have a part-time job to pay for everything on my own, when do you expect me to train with you? I don't have much time...", she said and scratched her neck unhappily.

Not from this world. Every other woman would have fled but Sandy somewhat believed him. Why? She couldn't say. "I see..ehm yeah that would be a good idea."
She went out and decided to go to a diner. She sat with him at a quiet table and watched him. "Well. Money is earned by working. I guess that's not how it is done where you come from?" Not this world. It echoed again in her head.

Steve looked at her and had to smile. She seemed eager and excited. It was quite cute. She then changed her demeanor and told him about college. "I see. You will not need to pay for your accommodation. We take this part over as well as your regular expenses. You get paid for being here." He told her. "You can then train when your school is over."

Loki followed the girl and sat down across from her. "Well, it sounds logical. Where I come from, we don't earn money for working. I am from Asgard, even if I was born in Jotunheim. It's a world far away, and as far as I can say it, it is much more than you could imagine. You are a human after all and as you don't seem to know, I came here already a few years ago.", he started and smiled. "Well... however...I am searching for a place to stay, because I have nowhere to go at the moment", he added and looked down for a moment. Then, he looked back up again, as a thought came to his mind: "Did you just move to town?", he wanted to know, curious why the girl didn't recognize him.

"So...you are telling me that I don't need to work anymore?", Sam asked and looked at Steve with wide eyes as he nodded. "I uhm...but I... like my job...", she started slowly, not sure what to do. She was working in a library and loved her job the moment she met her colleague Danny, which she had a crush on. If she would quit, there was no need for him to see her anymore, right? It made her kind of sad to think about that. Unsure, Sam looked at the Avenger in front of her. He seemed slightly worried, or ... irritated? Sam bit her lip, not sure what to do. "I uhm... I will find a solution for this...kinda...maybe we can start training during the weekend at first?", she suggested with a small smile.
