These guidelines apply to the RP chat.

1. Don't be a wanker! Okay, so I suppose a better way of putting that is "use some common sense". Of course, everyone has come in to give, recieve, or watch a spanking. But its very unlikely that the same 12 year-old is going to recieve 3 bare-bottom spankings in as many hours or that an adult is going to spank a child for 20 minutes just because they said "crap". This is meant to be anime-esque, but lets aim for the more realistic side.

2. Tops are Tops! That's right, the Tops (or spankers) are in charge. Some of this will refer back to #1, but one can usually expect that when a Top asks someone to do something, they'll do it. Defying authority is a good way to get spanked, of course, but the majority of the time they're expected to be obeyed. Remember, there's plenty of ways to get a spanking outside of blatant defiance.

3. Subs are Subs! As you may have guessed, if you're not the dominant one, you're the submissive one. Most of the "spankees" are children and if a Top so much as has you by the wrist, you're not going anywhere. Barring very special circumstances, you won't be escaping, or fighting with anyone, because they'll be restraining you. However, this doesn't prevent you from trying, it just means you won't succeed without their "consent".

3.1 Concerning Age Selection within the House: The role you play in the house is influenced by two things: yourself and your age. A universal sub will be from the ages of 13 and younger, as no one really expects such a youth to act as an authority figure. However, ages 14 and up are expected to show some responsibility and willingness to assume rule of authority if it comes up. General rule of thumb: Age will dictate authority.

4. Many actions are actually suggestions! This may seem odd at first. But its actually quite rude to simply state an action occurs. While one can obviously open a refrigerator door, or open a can of soda, one will not always succeed when one tries to punch someone or pull a cat's tail. In these instances, try to phrase your actions as attempts. For example:

Sphynx punches Exodus in the stomach. Is a bad example of an action, especially if one considers that Sphynx is 11 and Exodus is 14. A better example would be:

Sphynx swings at Exodus, trying to punch him in the stomach! This is much better because it gives control to the other player, who in this situation is also a Top in relation to Sphynx. Exodus's player may now choose to let himself get hit, or avoid it in some manner. Some people may think that this will cause every action to fail, but #1 always applies here, and #2 is also relevant. So remember: Do not use this guideline as an excuse to become the invincible super-ninja!

Continuing this example: Lets say that Exodus's player knows that Sphynx is actually in advanced martial arts and he realizes that his own character probably wouldn't be able to prepare himself for such an attack. Despite being a Top, he reasonably decides that he would be hit, and his response is:

Exodus staggers back from the blow, gasp for breath as he stares with astonishment at Sphynx!

Now, Exodus might not be able to handle this situation himself, but if there's another Top around, or Exodus informs one as soon as he can, you know that Sphynx is going to have his little bottom tanned.

Now if Sphynx was playfully punching Exodus in the arm, it could probably be resolved as an automatic action. There's little reason for Exodus to avoid it, and nobody's going to get hurt by it.

5. We cannot spank you all at once! At any given time, there is a certain number of Tops and Subs in chat. A surplus of Tops is never bad, but sometimes we end up with too many naughty children and not enough people to properly discipline them. If you're logging in to chat and see there's already a spanking scene going on.. or you can tell its about to get there, its probably not the best idea to run in and start misbehaving unless you know there's another Top around to take care of it. Overworking our Tops tends to stress them out and makes them want to RP less, and then nobody gets spanked and then nobody is happy. We have an out-of-character room, and a roleplaying room, so if you're really uncertain as to what's going on, ask in the out-of-character room if anyone's up for giving a spanking. An "I want I want I want I want!" attitude might get you a spanking in some instances, but in chat its more likely to get you ignored, kicked, or banned. See #1 for more information.

6. You are not a magical faerie princess! (NOTE: This only applies to "The House", not to "Lair of the Demoness Mina") This is not to say that nobody has any unique qualities or even special abilities. However, if you walk in to the RP claiming to have the ability to spank harder than God, out-wrestle Thor, and call upon the mighty Vishnu and rain death upon the ignorant masses, you should expect to get ignored a lot. Yes, we are using an anime-like theme, but try to keep extraordinary qualities to 1 or 2 (especially if you're not a Top!). Also try to keep them somewhat reasonable (magical firebreath is unreasonable, the ability to run really fast isn't). If you aren't sure if the concept of your character will mesh well with our RP community, simply PM me or find me in the OOC room in chat and ask. Also remember, you are not the star of the show. Everyone deserves an equal opportunity to participate, which means we all want to advance our own plots (if we even have our own private agendas), but try not to do so at the expense of other peoples' fun.

7. If spanking doesn't seem to work, it won't be used! Our tops are logical creatures and if your character tends to do the exact same thing to get into trouble every day, they will come to the conclusion that spanking is not the proper corrective measure and stop using it. Now, since this is a spanking RP, that will more than likely thwart your ultimate goal of a nice warm bottom and possibly a cuddle afterwards.

8. This is a spanking RP, not a sex RP! Sexual activities and sex acts will not be tolerated in the #animeotk or #thehouse rooms. Expect to get smacked with the Banned Hammer if you try it. This doesn't mean you can't have an out of continuity RP with someone else there, but take it into private! Remember! What happens in PM stays in PM

9. Your character is not you! The whole point of roleplaying is to be someone other than yourself, so please don't make your RP character an exact clone of who you are in real life. This leads to other troublesome issues such as bringing all of your real-life issues into RP which tends to complicate matters. Also, we all have an interest in spanking or being spanked, otherwise we wouldn't be here. However, it is probably best that your character does not ALSO have a spanking fetish/obsession.

10. Continuity is continuous! Remember that your in-character actions affect all of the other characters around you. While you may be trying to throw a tantrum and throw things around just to net yourself a spanking, don't forget there are other people around who may decide they're being hit and severely injured by said tantrum. Not only do your actions affect the people around you, but they continue to do so... because there's an actual story involved and it doesn't just reset every day. See #1 if you're having trouble understanding this.

11. IC is IC! OOC is OOC! Anything said Out Of Character should be done in the main channel, not the RP channel. Furthermore, it shouldn't be used for In Character knowledge. Simply because Exodus might say "Oh yeah, he was totally lying about that" in the general chat room, does not mean that Tim-San can read that and have his character in the RP room know that Exodus was lying to him. Also, don't get upset with people because of things their character does. Its just a game, folks.

12. Regarding Retroactive Construction, or Retcons. Retcons are only to be used under the following conditions: either as deemed necessary by a Chat/RP moderator when presented by a case; under dire circumstances that involves grounds the RP was not meant for; or if ALL of the players of that particular RP session agree to it within at least fifteen to twenty minutes.

13. Active Communication. If a Spanking is to Occur for anyone other then a Sub, There must be active communication between both players before/during it occurs to make sure everything is alright between each. This includes acceptance to it, and how it's happening. This allows people to avoid miscommunication and issues. So if you want to spank a switch, there must be active communication beforehand and during.
---Examples: 1)Player X doesn't want to be spanked today, so instead of a problem occurring... There is talk before hand for an alternative means of punishment, Etc Etc. 2) A Character doesn't want to be spanked in public, or severely hard due to certain reasons. 3) Things happen during the spanking that upset one party of the process, without communication, there would be problems, with communication, things can be said to go around it or deal with it.
This is Mandatory... No more Problems involving Tops/Switches communication is to happen anymore -_-;

14. Suicide and Self-Harm. These are supposed to be fun roleplays. As such suicide and references to suicide are strictly prohibited. Self harm is also prohibited in the main room. It can however be roleplayed with the consent of a willing top character in private.

15. Play Nice. If you play a bottom / switch character you do not have the right to be spanked. It is not a tops job to spank you or deal with your behavior if they do not wish to (this especially affects switches since many are playing teens because they want a bottom character but do not want to play a child). If a top/switch decides they do not wish to deal with your character then you do not have the right to get angry - remember, they are here for their own enjoyment too. If it is not pleasurable for them they will leave.

16. Forcing Action from Tops. This is currently more a guideline than a rule, but it may be made a rule if deemed necessary. If you are planning something that will get your character into a whole heap of trouble (IE more than a 10 minute roleplay spanking) the it is advisable to find a top/switch to deal with your character before you play it out. See rule #1 and #15
