Silver Lining I Think ((For Pippy-kun))

From above the earth there was a plain of existence that watches over the humans yet can not be seen by them. There sat a young lad looking down from a cloud with a goofy smile on his face. He had always thought humans were interesting creatures. There was so much love but also anger within them. They can make the world a beautiful place or a nightmare. They were so unstable, but caring. Ever since the world was young he watch people grow and change.

He lets out a sigh as he leans a little forward. Looking down at a city where most people are gathered. His icy blue eyes sparkle with glee, hoping that he will get the chance to be someone's guardian angel. What he did not know was that his dream will soon come true for he was summoned to the council hall. Where the selected few are chosen to become one. He stood before large figures and was assigned a human who needed guidance in their life before it gets worse. The young angel of course accepts and rushes down to earth.

Once the human was alone. A flash of light appeared before him. He spreads his snow white wings and floated before him. A smile appeared on his face as he looks at his new charge. "Do not be frighten human, for I am here to help you. I am Barrattiel, your guardian angel. Here to guide you through life and to watch and protect you." he said in a soft angelic voice.

The man who the young angel stood before was named Emmett He had just been fired from his part time job down town, dumped by his girlfriend who just forced him out of her apartment with a couple of boxes shoved into his old car.

He had pulled over into parking lot to stretch and look at the news paper to look for apartments willing to be sold a.s.a.p

Emmett Jolted a bit and scanned over the young lad "Ha... Nice costume kid... Your mother must be worried sick... Run along now~" he said waving his hand a bit as he gently leaned on the back of his car moving the blonde hair out of his face a bit. "Shoo, Shooo." Emmett said alittle more gently before looking deeply at the boy's wings "What kinda tech even is that? What toys are they letting kids have for costumes....?"

He had a puzzled look on his face when he was telling him to run along. Why would he need to run when he can simply fly? "Costume?" he said in a questioning tone. Looking down at his clothes and then wings. He was dressed in his only clothes, so was that a good thing or a bad thing he wanted to make a good impression on his human charge. "My name is nod Kid, is Barrattiel." he tells him. Floating closer to him and took a seat next to him on his car. "I know that life is hard right now, but with my guidance, you shall find happiness once more." he said excitedly.

"I know that it is hard when you loose your source of income, your shelter from the weather and a mate had rejected your company. But With me by your side you shall gain better ones." he tells him.

Emmett looked around when the boy got closer and his eyes widened a bit when the boy started floating "Good god, I am going insane..." he muttered under his breath before looking back at the news paper.

"To be Honest, I didn't like care for her all that much anyways..." he said smirking a bit "So your here to help?" he said gently pointing to a couple apartments "Here then... Take a look at these, Guide me to the one you think would best benefit my life..." he said with a sly smirk not really believing to much in angel's or a higher being.

"You are not going crazy. That would really, really be bad if you did. That means I failed at being your guardian angel." he tells him in a caring and concerning tone to his words. Looking at the newspaper he was holding and takes a look at the page he was looking at, there was nothing like this back where he came from. Then he tells her that he did not care for the girl he was with. "Well I am sorry to hear that. I promise that I will find you the lucky girl that will make you the most happy." he said in a bubbly tone.

When asked if he really here to help him, he nods his head. "Of course." he said happily. When he points he takes a look at the direction and sees a couple of tall buildings. Telling him to guide to him which will be a place for him to live. "Okay." he said happily. With a flap of his wings, Emmett was in his car and the angel was on top of it. Without putting his keys in or turning them, the car starts to move on it's own and at a rather fast speed.

Now the angel watched from afar and knew this his how humans get around, but what he does not know is that with cars came with rules and certain ways of driving. So not only was he making the human speed, but he was making the car move on the wrong side of the road. Which caused other cars to move out the way, honk their horns and shout at him.

By the time he had the car come to a stop, there was an officer waiting for him. Asking him him if he knew how fast he was going and if he knew he was driving on the wrong side of the road.

Emmett was rather Shocked when he found himself being in the car.

"STOP STOP, SLOOOOW DOWN" Emmett yelled as he pumped the breaks as much as he could, next thing he knew the cop had pulled him over and he was outside looking rather scared out of his wits "N-No Sir I didn't know how fast I was going... My car seemed to have a mind of its own and loss control" he sad lying somewhat as he stood there shivering a much "I... I am so sorry I don't know what happened officer, I think I lost control and I am so sorry." he said gently holding his own chest a bit feeling his heart race so fast it could pop though his chest.

"Here... My Licence and proof of insurance on the car..." he said gently handing the man his info so he can go over it.

This big, muscular policemen stood there quietly with his arms crossed as he listens to him explain what happened and that his car seemed to have a mind of it's own. The officer took his license and his insurance. "Stay here while I run these through the system." he tells him in a calm, but firm voice to show him that he means business if he thinks of running off. All the while Barrattiel, remained on tip of the car, having no clue what was happening. He had seen the flashing lights before from above but figured they were just fancy lights.

After some time the officer come back and hands the papers and card back to the owner. "Alright I did not see anything shady with your records, but I am still going to give you a ticket for speeding and reckless driving. You seemed clean as well, but this is your final warning." he states and hands him his ticket, which was very pricey. "You have a good day and stay out of trouble." he tells him before he leaves.

Soon they were alone again and the angel was now sitting in the car. He seemed to appear out of no where. "Well he have arrived." he said happily and then looks around. "So this is what it looks on the inside. I have to say it's a little cramped." he said, but it would be for someone who's wings was taking most of the space. "So was that fellow a friend of yours?" he asked in a curious tone.

After the police officer left he sat back down in his car clutching the ticket before shooting his eyes over at the boy "G-Great glad we arrived... Glad we did.... After that... Jesus lord all mighty." he said looking down at the ticket seeing that was going to cost as much as a weeks pay normally "Ugh...." emmett groaned as he rubbed the temples of his head.

"That man? My friend? HA.... No He's not my friend he's more of my enemy... He gave me a ticket thanks to that reckless driving you did...." he said shooting his eyes back at the boy "Double noted they don't teach kids to drive up there I guess..." Emmett said breathing a bit "Next time.... Let me Drive...." he said before putting his hand on the kids head ruffling his hair. "How old are you anyways?" Emmett asked as he looked over at the building sighing as he started the car and properly parked it and got to the correct side of the road.

He looked surprise as he tells him that the man talking to him was not his friend but an enemy. "Oh no! I'm so sorry." he said and frowns sadly. Then he points out that they don't teach driving where he came from and nods his head. "We fly to where we need to go." he tells him with a small smile on his face. When he tells him to let him drive next time, he nods his head. "Okay, I just got so excited. You are my first human and I want to do things right." he tells him.

When Emmett ruffled his hair, his cheeks turned a slight shade of pink. No one has ever touch him like that before and it felt rather nice. The human can feel his hair was silky soft. When asked of his age he smiled. "I am 180 years old." he tells him. Though he appears to look in his late teens.

While the human looks at the building that Barrattiel lead him to. It was really all that fancy and it needed some fix on the outside, but it was in a pretty decent neighborhood and close to some shops. "Anyway, this place should do the trick. It's a nice starting point to your new happy life." he aid happily.

Emmett sighed deeply "Well the speed that you went, took a lot of the food money I had for the week...." he said gently looking at the boy before looking at the building again.

"Can anyone even see you?" He asked as he traced the lay out of the building a bit before getting his wallet out and getting out of the car to walk to the building.

After a brisk talk with the landlord he told him the situation at the moment and agreed to let him have the appartment for cheaper rent if he could be the building handy man and repair things if called.

"Yes It's just me going to be living here... Maybe a visit from my 'God-Son' every once in the blue moon." He nodded talking to the landlord more before the helped him get his luggage and gave him a parking sticker that let the officers know he lived at this house so he had the right to park here.

Emmett scratched the side of his neck after all the boxes are in the room along with his luggage "Okay Barrattiel... You can come out where ever you are..." he said gently after the landlord was gone and out of the house.
