It was a typical summer day, the days were getting colder as it neared the end of the season, in the backyard of Wayne Manor was three boys enjoying the warm weather. Dick, the eldest of the three, hid behind a tree holding his water squirter close as he scanned the area looking out for his brothers, not seeing them around he dashed for the other tree keeping his head down. Jason, the middle of the boys quickly turned around blasting the other on the back with water smirking,"Gotcha!",he said running to the side to duck behind a rock. "Ack! Jason!",Dick said whirling around looking about for him, just as he did so he was blasted again but this time a little giggle was heard afterwards,"Got you!",Tim, the youngest, said sticking his tongue out before running away. "Oh come on you guys!",Dick said as the two ganged up on him blasting from each side,"Wait! Hm...Say okay you win almighty and victorious Jason. Oh no! Say Jason the great, not just Jason.",Jason said smirking.

Having three little boys under the age of 10 had it's challenges, but neither Bruce nor Jennifer (or Alfred for that matter), would trade it for the world. Sure the boys got into plenty of trouble and arguments, but little moments like this made it worth it. Still, they both knew what happened in this town, and it worried them what would happen to their boys outside of the walls of Wayne Manor, where they couldn't protect them.

"They're going to get sick, squirting each other in this temperature," Jennifer said, her medical training getting the better of her.

"You worry too much Jen, they'll be fine," Bruce told his wife with his arms wrapped around her.

"Someone has to worry around here," She responded before calling out, "Boys! Come inside for supper!"

Hearing their mother the three boys went for the door playing as they went along, it didn't take long for all three to be completely soaked and laughing,"Heh! Your dripping everywhere.",Jason said snickering at Dick,"Well your more soaked then me.",he said squirting his chest again. Tim ran quite slowly to catch up holding his hair up slightly as it was sinking in his face by the water,"W-Wait up you guys!",he said coughing softly before continuing to tail behind them.

Bruce smiled as he watched his son enjoy their childhood, something he didn't get to do. He made sure that each of them would be able to have that picture perfect childhood as much as he could muster. Sometimes it was hard, but at least he wasn't alone. He had all the help he could ever need.

Jen sighed when she saw how wet the boys were, looks like dinner would have to wait just a little while longer, "Alright boys inside and up to your rooms. You all need to change before we eat," She said as Bruce took their water guns. He led the two older boys upstairs as she went over to their youngest, "You OK, baby bird?"

Dick and Jason walked up the stairs rubbing their arms as they grew cold,"You should have seen Dad I won by a land slide.",Jason said puffing out his chest slightly as he walked proudly. "Yeah a literal landslide you sprayed the ground til it was slippery. And got Tim to team up with you.",Dick said rolling his eyes.

The small boy looked up at her coughing softly again shivering,"I'm fine Mommy. Just tired, Dicky and Jay are fast.",he said pushing his black hair back out of his face again.

Bruce chuckled at his sons' competitive nature, he was the same way at their age (and, if he'd admit it, he still was). There was nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, as long as it stayed that way and didn't escalate, "Now now Dick, you can't always win," He told his oldest, "And there's nothing wrong with a little teamwork."

Jen knelt down to her four year old's level as he said that he was OK, it was just the others were fast, "You'll be just as fast as them when you're older, Timmy," She assured him and brushed his hair back, "But what about that cough, you don't feel sick do you?"

"Creating a slippery muddy ground is cheating.",he said before sighing softly,"Yeah teamwork is fine..I guess.",Dick said staring at the stairs. "Don't worry Dad he's just a sore loser. It happens all the time, since I always win.",Jason said before running ahead as Dick ran after him,"You do not!".

"I feel okay Mommy, just cold..",he said shivering once again before a few more coughs,"My throat feels funny..",Tim said as he rubbed his neck pouting softly.

Bruce listened to the two bicker slightly and let it go, it wasn't as bad as they had been in the past so it wasn't worth the scolding, as long as it stayed this way. He gave Jason a pointed look when he said he always win, "Oh always now? Then what was that tantrum about a few days ago because you lost at Jenga?" He questioned before the boys ran off, "Boys! No running in the house!"

Jen sighed when Tim said he was just cold, but then kept coughing and finally complained his throat hurt, "Oh Timmy," She said sadly, the little one had always had a bad immune system, "Come on baby, let's get you inside and into something a little warmer," She told him as she picked him up.

Both boys seemed to disregard Bruce's scolding as they kept dashing to their rooms, Dick easily ended it all by using his gymnastics and flipping into Jason who knocked forward making both of them fall on the ground. Jason started laughing slightly,"Well we stopped running now Dad.",he said moving onto his back. Dick gave a soft snicker,"Yeah it wasn't that hard.",he said panting softly as he lay there staring at the ceiling.

"And cookies Mommy? I heard cookies help with throats. And a candy bar too, an gummy worms.",he said laying his head on her shoulder playing with her hair,"Veggies hurt it mores. Okay Mommy?",Tim said looking up at her slightly.

"Boys!" Bruce yelled again when he was ignored, but was continued to be ignored. He followed after his boys until they collided into each other because of Dick's gymnastics. He looked down at the boys with a not-so-happy look on his face, "That is why we don't run in the house, you both know that," He scolded them.

Jen chuckled a little as Tim tried to get her to give him sweets and junk food instead of his normal, healthy dinner, "Oh we'll see little one. Maybe I can get grandpa to make you a milkshake for your throat," She offered as she carried him upstairs. He was certainly cute when he acted like this.
