Gabriele copied a few more notes out of the book he was reading. A small smirk crossed his face as he thought about this project, ‘Politics under the Roman Emperors’, if only his classmates knew. The vampire patriarch shook his head, too bad ‘my sire was alive then and she knew several senates; wasn’t a valid source. Finishing his notes, the brunet pushed the book away and glanced over at his partner, “Tony?”

The human next to him wasn't faring as well. With his frame pressed into the cushioned wire of the chair, Anthony wore a sleepy expression on his face. Light blue eyes remained fixed on the laptop in front of him, which had a typed length of notes from his share of the research: retrieved from online bibliographical sources. While his friend preferred to jot them book and hand, he contently typed his up.

Turning to his friend Anthony gave a small groan and rested his head against the table. "This is exhausting," he moaned. "Gabe, we've been working on this thing for four hours straight. How about a coffee break, man?"

Gabriele snorted, “I’ve been working on this for four hours. Unless I’m mistaken you have been staring at your laptop listlessly for the past thirty minutes.” His tone was more teasing then reproachful as he reached over to pat his friend on the head with a manicured hand. “But by all means, go get your fix; I want to get the research for this done this weekend so I’m going need you a bit more awake.”

The vampire had picked up another book as he spoke, dark brown eyes already scanning the page for anything useful. It was times like these that he missed that library he still had boxed up in storage. His family’s escape from Chicago had come as a surprise and so many of their things were still in storage or old house despite the year they had already spent in Boston.

Anthony sent a pout his way and groaned again, his face lightly pressing into wood. "Your integrity is blessed, man." He wondered how the other could cram for such hours on end. Being a freshmen in college, he was getting his grasps on study habits and keeping on task– though to do so for such long periods of time got him restless. And tired as well.

Especially when the project they were cramming for was due in more than a week's time.

"I'll be back in a few." Anthony got up and left his things where they were, only grabbing his wallet and driver's license. He sent a grin towards the other, "Watch the laptop for me? Do you want anything?" He tapped his fingers on Gabriele's chair, peering over his work. "Wow, look at the workhorse go." He grinned again, the little half dimple in his cheek appearing as it usually did when he smiled.

Gabriele shook his head, long black hair slipping free of its ponytail as he did, “I don’t need anything and yes, I will mind your laptop.” Hours of study were nothing to a vampire used to spending his nights pouring over reports and forms. “Now shoo, I’m trying to translate here.”

Not that it was hard for him, he was fluent in Latin, but he preferred to let humans think that he needed the dictionary and quiet as he copied the Latin out in his flowing script.

As promised, Anthony returned, a little later than he thought but the lines in popular cappuccino hotspots were usually crowded to the nines.

He sipped from his hot coffee as he took his seat down next to the other male, sliding some wrapped biscuits his way. "Picked you up some energy food. You need to take a break every once and a while, Gabe." Anthony said, half-chiding the other. "I get you're trying to get this done, but let loose every once and a while. You're making me nervous." He teased, turning back to his research.

Gabriele glanced up at his friend and smiled slightly as he took the biscuits. He opened one up and nibbled at it to keep up appearances even as he plotted how to get rid of the rest of the food without his friend noticing. His body couldn’t actually digest food anymore so he only ate small amounts when people were watching him. He rolled his eyes at the comment, “I do let loose plenty; I just like to get all my work done first. I’ll tell you what, if we finish this today then I’ll take with me to a club tomorrow; prove to you that I can let loose.”

The human started laughing at his comment, having livened considerably since the dose of caffeine. "Right, sure you do." He smirked a little, his fingertips tapping away at the notes as he added historical definitions. After a moment however light eyes flecked over towards his partner and he appeared intrigued, "Gabe- clubbing?"

The thought both amused and excited him; who knew his seeming bookwormish friend had some party animal inside him.

"Dude... I'll up and finish this for you, but regardless if this is getting done, we are definitely going to the club. Hell yeah we're gonna get wasted." Now Gabriele had brought it up there was no going back. Anthony had a new motivation to work towards.

Gabriele laughed at his friend’s excitement. “If I had known that was what it took to motive you then I would have suggested it before. I’ll have to see if my cousin is willing to be our DD if we are both going to get ‘wasted’.” Not that the vampire actually would, he wouldn’t feed where Antony could see him and just drinking alcohol would do nothing to him.

"C'mon man, we don't need one of those," Anthony said, pausing for another drink of coffee, "though this is great, I never knew you were the party type." He smiled over at him. "You're just full of surprises aren't you Gabriele?"

While this was meant as initially harmless, the young man had really no idea.
